  1. I know the one you're talking about, but I think it was the Outer Limits.
  2. Finally! I never got into HALO, mainly because it was awkward as hell to use those stupid X-box controllers. Too many years of playing FPS on the pc have eroded my ability to play them on the consoles.
  3. Giant ant movies begin and end with "Them." Goofy 50's sci-fi monster schlock at it's finest.
  4. Those are some great pictures in that article! I love the two scared civilians screaming at the big "monster." Thanks, Nanashi!
  5. Hey, I never thought about it before, but ARMD 01 and 02 are mirror images of each other.
  6. Yes you do. That's why you're here in the first place. Jeeze, and you wonder why nobody takes you self-proclaimed "trolls" seriously anymore? Otherwise, I agree with Super O 110%.
  7. The 1/55's are just offensive looking when compared to the beauty of the 1/48. Chunky Monkey lovers should be condemned to the lowest pit of RT.com. All who defy Yamato shall be struck down by the Froating Head Himself. I urge you all to cast your Chunky Monkeys into the fire, so that they may return to the hell which spawned them. Kidding aside, I too see the 1/55's as mainly nostalgia. They're great for the collector who couldn't afford to pick up all of the originals, or that person who wants to replace that favorite toy s/he lost as a kid, or those hardworking customizers who are still churning out cool & improved customs. Otherwise, I give the 1/55's a big "meh."
  8. I've brought this up before. HG may claim that they were "asleep at the wheel" during the years that Macross II, Plus and 7 were produced, but surely Tatsunuko was not.
  9. LOL! That's a good one, I wish I'd thought of it. I mentioned the A-36 because the Allison engined 'Stangs were very similar to the later P51s, but when you compared one to a late-model P51-D or K model, there's a lot of differences. To me, it's a good analogy for the VF-0. German armor is also a good comparison, but there's just soooo many variants that it makes ones head hurt to think about it too long. But one interesting note is how the Germans would cannibalize captured and obsolete tanks to make new self-propelled guns. Combine that with the fact that the Panther and Tiger's running gear bore a striking similarity to the T-34....and you could draw a parallel to the SV-51's development. Ok, that's a bit of a stretch.
  10. Well, this is as good as I can do for now. I've modded the original Anakin pic to highlight the scar. It was actually there all along, but it was barely visible in the original.
  11. You've never read the original GITS, Abombz? Then definitely, get it! It takes a couple of readings to 'get" all of it, but I consider it the last of his classic-era stories. Plus if you get the TPB, you get something like 5-10 pages of footnotes by Shirow.
  12. I'll reserve judgement until I actually see Kill Bill, but that AICN article can hardly be called a "review." All Harry does is his usual fanboy gushing, while simultaneously trying to awe us with his knowledge of 70's B-grade movies. I'll wait and see what DarkHorizins.com has to say about it.
  13. I just thought I'd up this for a quick update. 1) There's new pics of Anakin available to Hyperspace subscribers. It looks very similar to the posted pic from the SW Insider, but there is also a very visible scar on the right side of his face, starting at the eyebrow and running down beside his eye. And he looks VERY evil. 2) It seems the Tarkin pics are the real deal. One of the webmasters for a "rival" site has suddenly and out of the blue conceded that they were authentic. The question still remains why there's two different looking pics, so these may just be different tests. But the fact remains....Tarkin's in, baby!
  14. I believe it was a stand alone (no pun intended) story, but I could be wrong. It was prtty cool how you could pilot the Fuchikoma up the walls and onto the ceilings.
  15. Oy, what have I created here? Back on topic, I once had a link to a whole page of Airsoft Shirow replica weapons. They were all out of production, but they were pretty damn cool...if you had the money.
  16. OT: I see that now that, everybody else is now doing it, Jim Lee has dropped the excessive hatching in his artwork. I think that's for the better, since his art always looked better to me when it was cleaner like these Batman panels.
  17. Me too. But it's ALL about the M41A, anyway. Give me 12 men with Pulse Rifles and I'll win any war you want. B)
  18. Psst....Vasquez used either a Hi-power or a 1911, I don't remember which. That is all.
  19. When are we going to see a LOTR / Matrix crossover? Can you imagine Neo fighting 1001 Orcs, or Aragorn swordfighting with Agent Smith? THAT would be r0x0rz. <_
  20. How is this thread not locked yet?
  21. This is a discussion board. It's what we do. And what's wrong with us discussing the info that we do have, whether it's Paul Anderson and his poor track record as a director, or the rather generic character descriptions? It's not as if we were just spewing whatever insults we could think of, as if it were an AICN talkback. In fact, most of our criticism has been very well worded and thought out.
  22. When I see or hear something good about this movie, maybe I'll gain some optimism. But for the time being, I see nothing good about this movie. The fact that you said "And I'd rather you all not talk crap about a movie that hasn't even hit production" made it seem you were taking it personally. The film itself may not exist, but so far none of us are thrilled with the little information we have on characters and plot. It's true that the script may still see changes, but if they want to have this movie in theaters for next august then they'd better nail it down pretty soon.
  23. So...now we've got: Dragon Ball Z Evangelion Ninja Scroll Akira Battle Angel Alita (even though it's going to be a James Cameron film) any more that we've missed?
  24. You're far too optimistic, but each to thier own I suppose. Why do you take it so personally? Does it offend you that we don't like this movie?
