I updated my Avatar a day or so ago, now its reverted back to my old one? Was I mod'd or something, did someone actualy complain??

heh that's a good one ???

Sorry, thats probably more a misunderstanding on my part... I do fee (even with the DVDs and the disillusion of being a part of RT) that it doesn't get the attention that it deserves (not to say any other obscure anime is any less deserving). though, with all the "?!?!?!"s and going on to tell me about all these other Animes that were obscure and we most likely will never get to see... sorry sounded like a flame

well atleast the "Harmony Blows Gold" logo is not horribly blinding... its there but it doesn't necessarily stand out (I actually had to look for it on the image), it just kinda blends in.

Wow! very nice I like the fanjet... but that Catseye OMG, its big and it looks just like the TV one... you got that as a resin kit? damn, I would so love to get one

hehe, no... I extend great thanks out to you for making these files... if you have the original Photoshop files  When I try to make this bad boy even bigger I am really gonna want those files As for coloring, I'm toying with water color or maybe diluted acrylics. As for "breaking folds" thats once of the advantages of the Cougar Opaque... its a medium fiber paper, not long like typical card stock. you have to make a sooper sharp fold to get it to crack. Unless you do what I did... I use a ballpoint pen to create "creases" on the back side to help with folding... just becareful what you use as a backing surface (Psst! I punched a whole in on of the pieces, don't tell anyone :looks around: )

Woohoo!!!! :Wild Applause: not just the Original Macross... but all Macross -
mindlessly entertaining... Like catching an eppisode of "Ed, Edd, and Eddy" I have seen several eppisodes of JL.. dont' care for it much.. caught an epp of TT lastnight, I was mildly ammused IMO: no sequential plot = crap (maybe horribly funny, but still crap)

Question regarding mechanics of VF transformation
Southcross replied to Lotus-6's topic in Movies and TV Series
sounds like a question for Super Nanashi! who's turn is it to tend to the Signal light?? Try: http://www.zebiprod.com/ you'll have to dig around for it, but he (she?) has an AVI showing the transformation. If you watch it closely you can see how the transformation works... or better yet get ahold of a copy of Macross Zero (episode 1 if I recall), it shows a crystal clear transformation. -

I have chosen a name for my “projects” Southcross Model Monstrosities, where “bigger is better” I have several projects still in the design stage, but the “Paper Monster” sounds like a fun start. ETA (Estimated Time to Assemble), 9 Days with dry fit and glue drying (if I figure out how I can paint it, maybe longer). Southcross difficulty rating: 2 Cases of Beer (due to the rough, un-translated instructions). The "Paper Monster" posted in September is my starting point: (http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=1026) though it’s not big enough! Basic estimates will make this larger version 177% larger (2 dimensionally) or 2.35 times bigger assembled. I could make it bigger (and will probably at a later date), but thought this was a good starting point. Day 1 *Friday YAY!* OK, I changed the dpi of the original images to resize them as "11x15" images (they became a tad bit grainy blown up but the printer will take care of that), converted them to PDF for printing... its freekin’ 21MB! Printed the parts off on a Xerox Docutech6135 production machine Onto:11x17 65# Cougar Opaque Cover stock (in laymen’s terms its the same as they typical 90# card stock, but higher grade and on a different "weight" scale). Printed it Weighs 1.20lbs! Day 2 I figured out I’m a bit unprepared for doing this... I did locate my x-actos... Can't find my straight edge... I have no cutting surface... I found my only bottle of glue is a solid brick... Until I can get to a craft store... this might take a while I took a measurement of the barrel and adjoining surfaces. The approx overall length is going to be around 24”. If the model is actually to correct scale, the paper model will be between approximately 1/60 and 1/72. Ok I have two images so far of this Beast (I through on a $5 bill for scale): First is a picture of one of the 11x17’s (has a piece of the fuselage) Second is a picture of the pieces for one of the legs (not assembled, just cut out and folded) The Foot is nearly the size of the Bill… this is gonna rock Now I just need to find the time to stop at a hobby/craft shop.

Ok, I've back tracked through the many pages of posts... whats the status of the Macross Plus box art?
-
So, please indicate here if you would be interested in obtaining a Macross World Exclusive DVD Keepcase for your SDF Macross (Animeigo) set, or for the Mac Plus OVA & Movie, or both. If there is sufficient interest, then I will get the image requirements from him, and we can start hashing out an image design. I am volunteering to handle this thing entirely, so all we have to do for now is indicate that we are interested, and I will tally up the numbers, and relay them to him to get price info. I am not affiliated with him in any way, and do not stand to make any money on this. I am doing this solely to see us finally get something that's ours. Mods, can we get this pinned? Also, I figured it would get the most traffic in the toys forum. DAMN! those ARE nice! I'd vote, but I choose the Mac+ case

cough that up to the explodeing popularity of the internet...not only in the number of people online, but also in the cost of bandwidth to maintain a graphicly intenseive website... I know it's frustraiting, but if you do wade through the results of a web search for a particular anime like Southern Cross, you will find that there are still many fan sites out there...take a little time and read up on how to best perform web searches with Google, Yahoo, whatever and you can search more efficently. Also take the time to surf...If you find a fan web site for a largely ignored anime, then take a look through the web site they link to...interesting stuff pops up all the time this way...I got my little Cruse Chaser blassty avatar this way...and Cruise Chaser Blassty is even MORE obscure here in the states then Southern Cross is. Actually I have spent many a hour on Goofle (lol woops Google)... and tying to find links through other Anime sites.. most of which were dead ends or brought me back to Robotech. I might have very well come across the website Temucano gave me the link to, but because it has "Robotech" plastered into the URL I probably ignored it as a RT crap-site. Please don't automatically assume I didn't bother trying. I figure that this would be a good place to ask. I am in no way saying that Southern Cross is more obscure than any other anime... I probably should of worded this line: more like "I'm afraid Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross is fading into obscurity"

Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
Southcross replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Japanese animation comes from Japan (Okay so a lot of the work is actualy done in Korea, but anyway) and the term anime is a shortend form of animation...In Japan even the works of Disney is considered anime, while Japanese animation is often called manga...But in america anime is used to describe Japanese animation (and some Korean, and asian animation in general)...so to get to the true root of the issue of the often missuse/missapplication acusations of the term anime, then we should consider it's origin. If thats the case then anime can only come from France Thanks for bringing up what I try to avoid saying ... that Anime (contrary to public belief) does not always come "physically" from Japan... dont' bother flaming me! I'm not the one who said it :points finger: him! him! him! him! he said it!!!!! he said it!!! :runs and hides: -
Egads.. I'm a bit unprepared for doing this... located my exactos.. can't find my straight edge... I have no cutting surface... I found my only bottle of glue is a solid brick now... I'm going to take some pictures of my progress and make a new thread in the "Models" section. Until I can get to a craft store... this might take a while

Question regarding mechanics of VF transformation
Southcross replied to Lotus-6's topic in Movies and TV Series
Ok,..no need to read any further,...just go outside, close the door behind you,... and go back in! I love the revolving doors in this place. Once you go in, you can never leave!!!!!!!!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA I'm already aware of the legal debate... so I therefore have not entered the abbis, for the fear I could never escape it... I have enough on my plate to not have it effect my sleep or enter my dreams -
I'd bid $.01 for it, if it was complete

doh.. lol I meant to include a RT link

bob joe mac please save me the flame... IMO (of course when am I NOT speaking my opinion, look at my sig) the only reason Southern Cross was released into the US was due to its relationship to Robotech. While it is a bad thing that there are tons of old Anime that will never get into the US. I'm more interested in Southern Cross because... well... look at my name. Years before the offical RT.com there were quite a few fan sites for the Southern Cross, but years later (four computers later, all going poof with all their bookmarks) and "forgetting" where I found those links... I have done a number of searches for sites and like I said... all I find are Robotech sites and "DVD Stores"

Finally got to watch Mac 0, my 1st impressions
Southcross replied to JKeats's topic in Movies and TV Series
I thought "who better to ask than the "man" himself" In my email I explained the "debate" and that a simple yes or no in regards to "carpet bombing" would suffice. Then I get that letter, and I just about fell out of my seat.
