I might get lynched for this but i humbly think that Ranka's actions hold more water and feel more matured than Minmay was. Minmay had to juggle between love, career and brother and she got confused on which to give priority to and ended up being cold to hikaru cuz she was emo. Ranka knew she wants Alto right from the start and get go. Why does she sing? Alto. Why does she fight the Vajra? Alto. Why did she go to Galia 4? Alto. And seeing Alto with Sheryl hurts her inside....its a very human emotion and not something you can control easily unless you're a cyborg. Her song that she sings for Alto means nothing if Alto seemingly does not reciprocrate. Alto plays the typical "cluless indecisive male" of the harem genre. If anything he should be blamed for not choosing one of the two quickly and causing all this heartache and indirectly, deaths, not Ranka. But hey not much of a show if Alto made his choice in episode 7 right? That said i think Ranka h8trs should give the girl a break. She's just girl in the big big universe trying to find happiness.

The space battles in the trailer doesn't look impressive at all and i'm with Save that i fear it might look like Shadow Chronicles. And to add more worry, the animation is by studio Artland that animated the travesty that was Gunslinger Girl 2.

Try Again was classic Firebomber to me. Planet Dance and Totsugeki Love Heart was played too often..... Dynamite Explosion and Angel Voice are my favourite songs and often in my "repeat" list.

Ahh good point about the OSTs! Forgot about them. Frontier's animation was really lacking comparatively to other big titles of the season and with inclusion of 3D CGI i guess they had a really tight budget to work with. Perhaps they weren't so optimistic in how much money they were going to make back since Macross was considered niche after all. That said i hope the bluray editions fix those really bad episodes like the panty chasing one.

Not surprising, since the Tomahawk, Defender and Phalanx were made from the same frame. There's even an old toy (Destroid Conversion Kit) that features one body with interchangeable parts to change between the 3 destroids.

The whole Ragnarok Junction arc was whacked. I felt like i was watching the End of Evangelion then it suddenly Next eps would seem that tables are turned. Schneizel will be the new leader of the Black Knights whereas Lelouch is the new Emperor of Britannia. Man this whole episode was junk.

Nope. He spoke to Misa 1st over the intercom of the VF-1D hence why he eventually ended up with her. its a tvtropes thing. Just like how the 1st person the scooby gang meet will always be the badguy.

Here's a thought to Ranka haters. In anime, usually the 1st girl the guy meets, will be the one he ends up with. And ranka is that person.

The difference is the one on the OST 1 is the SOS version and has the crowd cheering as well as added "boom , zoom, whoosh" SFX. This is the one on the 1st trailer. The one in the single doesn't have all the background stuff. And lol @ school days. Nice Statue!

I see what you did there. Indeed Alto's reaction is not unwarranted. In fact if he said "oh okay" after Ranka said Ai-kun was nice, I'd be more in disbelief.
