So as far as your commisioning job, you're only going to be painting right? No fancy scratch builds?

Curious though, are u starting with the generic trooper and working your way up into a RC? Because their helmets,weapons and backpacks are considerably different from the average trooper and some retooling needs to be done...unless you're just doing the generic troopers in their paint scheme?

Finished Ga Rei Zero. Awesome sleeper hit anime. Glad I marathoned it though since I couldn't stop watching it since i started. Alot of deaths in this anime. The drama is heart wrenching. Awesome action. Some plot points were unresolved though which leads me to think there might be a sequel or something. Highly recommended. EDIT: Actually its a prequel to the events of the manga...gah...another one of those prequel tie-in merchandising things. But seriously the anime stood alone well.

Which is kinda strange in itself for there is no reason for Skynet to make phased plasma rifles that can be used by humans. If anything Skynet should make the weapons unusable by humans lest they are procured and used against its terminator legions. Perhaps too heavy for a human to use or requires termie fingers to hold them. (which based on my MCF toy a normal human hand won't be able to hold a plasma rifle)

Started watching Ga Rei Zero. I was abit spoiled about what happens in the 1st episode but it still wasn't enough to prepare me from the shock factor. To chronicle my thoughts without spoiling too much: Ep 1 start.... ok cool...emo male lead...groan...not again. Biker chick....i dig. Ghosts...monsters...military is there but they get annihilated. Come our protagonists! They pwn ghost butt. *Very cool action sequence* 2nd ghost appears but it seems to be too big....requires some impromptu tactics. *awesome action sequence* .......then sh*t happens....like serious sh*t. HOLY CRAP...did that just happen.... Okayyy.....now i'm curious what happens for the next 11 episodes of this anime. Really strange episode 1.....but damn I'm psyched to watch the rest now! ========== Episode 2 end: Double You Tee Eff.....they have to stop doing this every episode ....i just hope this won't be the theme of the whole damn show.

The trailer seems to hint that the future has changed, and the movie deals with how John comes to terms with the pressure of being a messiah...that maybe he may not be able to save humanity like he did in the original future. Carbines or not....damn that bipedal HK looks sexy.

Just wanted to add, another failings of professional subs just encountered when i'm watching Right Stuf's translation of Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Episode 09, around 3:54 "Sassen Nado, Sassen" translated as "The Drop, I'll Stop" and the crew sighs. It was obviously a japanese lame pun, with the funniness totally lost after the translation. If it was a fansub, the pun would've been explained.

Man...is the range of the knees that bad for gerwalk mode? I have to shave off some knee to get it into your classic gerwalk pose? I think this killed it for me. Some questions to those who have owned it: 1.) How is the diecast content? 2.) In some battroid poses, it seems that the back looks too heavy and they seem to be leaning backwards. Is it because the thigh joints are loose and the back is too heavy to support the weight? Will having the armored/super parts in the future make this more of a problem later?

Probably not...if most ppl's players are working fine. Its probably just a old player. Perhaps its possible to flash the firmware (though i doubt it since the player's old and all)

What azrael said. Not sure about Nena vs Wang though. The way I see it, Wang is using Nena to do her work in the future. Nurturing her successor if you will. Pretty cool episode. For a moment when Ptoleimos went TRANS-AM i thought they went into "Quantumization" ....I guess they just sped off the firing arc and returned to their "trench run". 00 Raiser didn't need to do TRANS-AM this time round. He was at least on par with the Gadessa. Gadessa seems pretty hax though....i wonder if it fought Seravee, who would win. Pretty awesome episode. I was at the edge of my seat.

Took a trip down memory lane and started watching a classic well lauded on MW , Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Pretty funny and classic. Up till ep 5 now.

Man...lotsa tl;dr here. That made total sense to me.....strange. Cats have no use for gold coins hence the message was conveyed through the idiom. I don't need some sub to "spell it out" to me what the idiom means but sometimes a typeset explaining the above would be helpful for those who can't understand idioms. I for one prefer a more literal translation and if it warrants it, a typeset explanation of what it means. Please do not give examples of baddddd typesets like "Keikakuu Doori" typeset: "Keikakuu Doori means Just As Planned" as those are obviously not needed. I can understand why some people would prefer a less literal translation but a translation that makes sense to english speakers and championing it as something professional translators do. But it is my humble opinion that if you're going to watch anime as a hobby and you'll be watching alot of it in your spare time, why complain what fansubs are doing since it gives more information (although some may say redundant) than what "professional subs" are going to translate? There's lotsa fun stuff to be had especially when Japanese puns and jokes are translated and explained to viewers rather than giving an english equivalent that in no way translates to what the characters are saying. If that's the case, i'd rather watch dubs but I'm not a dub person. Off the top of my head from Kannagi, when Nagi says "Stekki No Sticku" and goes on to laugh loudly to herself at the lame joke....translators will just put "Nice Stick" and viewers will be "uhhh what's so funny?" But if translated with some notes, it will make more sense to viewers why it was funny.

Holy crap you sound like . I like fansubs....and I don't really mind official subs either...but sometimes you have to give the fansubs some credit for explaining stuff that most "official subtitles" will just replace with an American equivalent phrase rather than a direct translation with notes. Otaking would argue that this is not what "professional translators" do but meh.
