Nice mod and no painting required! The placement of the back plate fins would not matter as much as the scheme, in fact i hardly noticed the difference till you pointed it out...

For me, there isnt one scale better than the other. If you can display many 1/100's as a complete collection, that is a positive in its own right. And if some prefer a larger scale with better individual shelf presence and detail, that's a positive for the 1/60. I just find it comparing apples and oranges, if you want to compare 1/100 and 1/60/55/48.. Product quality wise, both scales have there own nagging issues but i think thats more of manufacturing processes of each toy company rather than scale per se......

If greenpeace had mechas to protest against space whaling, wonder what would it be.... -
The appeal of HMR is apparent when you have a whole shelf lined-up....https://twitter.com/REV_PINK/status/1119444180600676352 am sure sh9000 has more, but dont forget what 1/100 lacks in detail/color accuracy or what not, it makes up in numbers. I find though, there isn't one scale is better than the other. It just depends what you make out of your collection, how much you like it and how much it enhances your shelf/den/room/etc.... besides having a shelf of 1/60 valks is incredible! From rdrunner's pics...

What a comparison ....The yamato 1D orange looks really bright comparing to hmr... bandai made the 1D canopy different from the super O, I tot they wouldn’t have bothered.. thanks for the comparison tekering...how did you find the orange on the hmr 1D, was it as evenly colored in itself? ie was the orange color on fuselage, wings or legs visibly different from each other? lovely pics!

Hmm then I really don’t see the difference. Will await the real copy.

How rough are the cut edges of the arcylic resting on the valk? Do you feel some sanding will help reduce paint scratches? Still awaiting mine ...

Ah that the color just behind the cockpit? I see now it seems to be a little lighter compared to the body...I cant really tell the difference viewing it from my phone or pc..but after zooming in i detect a slight difference... will await the verdicts as it rolls in....
