  1. right, since I *will* be buying this, there's nothing wrong with wanting it to be ever so slightly better if it will make me much happier. This WILL be the best rendition of a transforming YF-19 toy ever, and possibly for a long, long time, if not for all time. To say, "ah, it's nicer then it was so I don;t care" is more ridiculious to me. Imporving on a crappy toy in a few points is fine, but a few points better here make a lot of difference IMO. It's pretty now, so it is one of the few projects that has the potential to be completely *beautiful*, but naysayers say not to hope for that? - cheap. Dead horse? Get some glasses! It's a PIÑATA! And I'm not stopping till the candy comes out.
  2. I'm just saying that I don't (definatly no expert) see an easy way to work that into the manufacturing process and get the nice results I'd want for panel lining and make everyone happier for it having been done. I'd rather, myself, have it stay as it is - deeply etched, but not filled. Looks much more precise then the licorice they had on my 11B
  3. ah, they panel-lined all their old Mac+ toys in solid, thick black. I'm not sure I would want something like that for higher-end, larger toys. Plus, it's 9X easier to add them then it is to get rid of ones you don't like...
  4. The idea I liked a lot was from Genesis/Megadrive's Gaiares (spelling?) That was a nice premise, with getting weapon data from enemies.. shame it took so long to get them fully powered. UN squadron and Earth Defense Force on the SNES were fun. I also have a lot of Darius Twin flashbacks... Scrambled Valkyrie was okay, but I like it more because it was macross then on it's own merits, sadly
  5. Yeah I was about to say so. Unless that scene was purely metaphoricial, to illustrate Guld's ability to control the thing with his mind, parts of the 21 clearly showed some ability to alter their shape a bit.
  6. Finally got this! It's lots of fun, but I prefer the ground missions to the space ones. I love the not killing people off. Gai is my fave playable choice so far XD Besides Macross, Nadesico, BrainPowerd, and the various Gundam-stuff, Anyone have a list of the other series mixed in there, there are a lot I don't recognise, and I'd like to check them out possibly. And deciphering Katakana gives me headaches.. Looking specifically for where that lady with the big hair is from. ("Kau - ha - resshii" - or something)
  7. I've never broken a BP8 (thought I realise you should never SAY that), it seemed fine to me, and I've tugged on it a few times. I think a metal plate there instead would just look amazingly ugly. I really have yet to come up with a setup where clear fastpack covers actually looked good - I mean, they're okay and all, but if you want to show the insides, having them off just looks better. I think keeping them as a quaint collectable is good enough - they can still be had for short money if you want them. If anything, I would love to see the stealth fastpacks set have a second set of covers so they're not two-tone - but that's more of a silent wish then an issue.
  8. man that 17D looks sick.. I'm thrilled about the 19 and all, but I think I'd be beside myself if that got announced
  9. Wow, not to sound like a rap song, but that thing looks awesome from the back I really hope they make this after the 19... Love the floating knees on this one. Though, I'd be drolling over them putting out the 19, if it wasn;t already confirmed. BTW, is the official color really beige, or kind of 'off-white'? I always thought it would look nice lightened up a bit.
  10. I think he meant 'channel' as in RC frequency - IE no interfereing controls I don't see that kind of detailed control for something like this either
  11. I don't think it will do anything, but I'd like to take public issue with those thick, frosty nightmares they call stickers
  12. Which is *exactly* what I'm hoping for. Seriousy, with a bit of thought put in, Yamato's colorscheme-roulette could have some awesome results for something like the 19 or other advanced Valks. Pretty much all VF-1's look similar to me at this point, but looking at that picture I saw of an 11B painted a modified Roy/Skull leader scheme, it completely chaged how it looks in my eyes
  13. How does THAT work? Like HG's Disasterpeice stuff looks any closer to the TV A head then the 1/48 DYRL head?
  14. I've found adding a small bit of meat (whatever you have lying around - a chunk of ham works best) to the water before boiling the noodles makes a huge difference in the taste without adding much to the overall cost...
  15. my thoughts too. BTW, does anyone have any pics/info of the super-scale real-world aircraft peices they're mentioning? I'd love to see, there are a few RW craft I have a soft spot for
  16. How this for the Jap illiterate? The videos of it make it look all kinds of fun
  17. Thet look pretty good, Minor complaints would be that a few white+ black markings on the Zero's sheet have the black out of line with the white, and the GBP Lacks the screw cover, circle-shaped markings, and I got sent a low vis standard set instead of a low vis option set (it's kay though because I mostly wanted the kill markings and the stardard set has them as well) But nitpicking aside, these are very nice! My GBP looks 100X better then it did and I'm sure at least 80% beter then it would with those thick frosty nightmare markings that came with it! Good job!
  18. Are you sure? I believe I've seen the OVA and the Movie as well, I don;t remember Gamlin having a 22, I'll look again I guess. EDIT> additionally, if Yamato does bust out the YF-22 in 1/60th flavor, isn;t there, like, very little modification needed to make it a VF-22s?
  19. I think you mean the 17S and 17D - they did use the 22 later on, but Gamlin only used a 17 (at first a 17D, then a 17S) and Millia used a red 17S before the break out the 22's
  20. I had thought the big Y didn't have the Mac7 licence, and not sure if those three were available in the games. Besides, I personally think Basara's 19 is almost as much an assult to valks as the clown valks they had in 7 - I mean, it is arguably as ugly as you can MAKE a 19 by painting and changing a head.
  21. Hell yeah I would! If they had real attention to detail, I'd want it if it was in the $89 range. Though I have yet to see any of these other "biggie-sized" aircraft, so I can't really be sure how it would look.
  22. I've always loved that picture - at least the blue one anyway (the orange does nothing at all for me) If not a varient, I can at least look greatly forward to any 19 customs in the future like all the wonderful 1/48 customs I've seen pass through here.
  23. Besides the Fire! Bomber! quotes in Haruhi Suzumia, which I'm sure just about everyone knows of by now, An otherwise unimpressive series, Rizelmine, gives an ever so subtle nod to Macross.
  24. Fixed! And don't say that I never use my powers for good, even though evil is more fun... also I just noticed when I was editting the typos... I can totally change the numbers of votes!!!! MWUAHAHAHAHA... that's kinda lame though, what's the point of that? 420150[/snapback] Thanks for that.. hey, wait... change the votes? Why would they even give you the option? Thant's it! I demand a recount!
  25. With the 1/48 repaint parade we've had for the last couple years, so long lacking antcipation for something, we forgot how it feels really, voraciously wanting something coming over the horizion... ...you forget the days spent waiting for the next month's news, ...you forget the wondering how it will look in person, ...you forget it sucks
