There's technically no real sense of a TV season like in the USA system. There are 4 seasons of broadcast ranges: Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn. All are 3-month ranges. And there has been anime that has only aired 12-13 episodes for its entire season. Sentai and Kamen Rider run a new season every year. Some shows may have a season of only 12 or 13 episodes. Some may have for 25-26, 50-52, etc.

Some places only list 13 episodes because that's all the info we have right now.

Do you expect anything more? Kawamori isn't going to explain everything. He'll draw enough for the animators to play with.

The broadcast schedule probably has something scheduled that week. Preempted programming happens a lot just like programming in other countries. Gundam 00 had a week off during New Years. Gives us a chance to relax and get caught up. This probably cements that the show is 25 episodes (26 is half a year). Think of the week off as a chance to do something else.

SDM/DMs (Squad Designated Marksman/Designated Marksman) are usually attached to a squad and serve as support to the rest of the squad. Snipers usually act independently (normally with a spotter) from a concealed position.

Galaxy is known to be a technological haven. Cybernetics may have been only 1 of the many areas they worked in. The whole "Playing God" aspect comes to mind...like a certain "culture"...making a race of soldiers...some with folding capabilities.
