  1. Unlike the RT mods, we get paid in doggie treats...and some tan/brownish substance which Shawn makes us drink. Tastes like blood, sweat, melted toy plastic, and Graham's gunpower mix which is strangely addictive. Then we chase it down with beer. Shawn only gives out Yoshinol as yearly bonuses.
  2. There's a reason why I say "captain of <insert a ship or fleet here>", i.e. command of the vessel/fleet and not "Captain", i.e. the rank. They are the master of a vessel (Wikipedia). Perhaps a better translation of "Kancho" is "skipper" for those of you who can't differentiate the 2 meanings.
  3. Yeah, the Newbie thread.
  4. Much like in Star Trek, where both George Kirk and James Kirk became captain of a Starfleet vessel without actually having the rank of "Captain". In fact, Jeff Wilder is captain of Macross Quarter but is rank is "Colonel".

  6. Well, if the thing is old and about to die, "free" means passing the buck, i.e. it becomes his problem instead of the previous owner's. How old is the TV? Do you have room for it? And as EXO mentioned, disposal may be a problem down the road so do you want to inherit someone else's stuff?
  7. Not in one all-encompassing package which can be digested in 1 sitting. RT wraps it all up in one messy but packaged set. Macross requires time and effort to hunt down and watch, which RT fans lack.
  8. Yeh...That's gonna need a stand in Battroid mode. If you don't have one now...now would be a good time to get one.
  9. No time slot information either. All they've released is that it will come midseason.
  10. It will be a mid-season premiere. So probably January 2010.
  11. Considering the Shizuoka show just ended 4 days ago and the hobby magazines aren't due out for another 2 weeks....I don't think we'll be hearing much during that time.
  12. There's a wonderful thread called the "Newbie thread" to answer quick questions like this.
  13. Yep. They've made statements but nothing concrete. No official synopsis has been released to press so we can't say 100% for sure. It could be a one-shot movie, a series of movies, a side-story movie.
  14. We now have a date and a cast: http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/14196/abc...10-tv-schedule/ V (Sci-Fi Drama, Mid-Season) "V" is a re-imagining of the 1980's miniseries about the world's first encounter with an alien race in which the aliens call themselves The Visitors, and have a seemingly friendly agenda that may or may not be a cover for something more malevolent. "V" stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Morris Chestnut as Ryan Nichols, Joel Gretsch as Father Jack Landry, Lourdes Benedicto as Valerie Stevens, Logan Huffman as Tyler Evans, Laura Vandervoort as Lisa, with Morena Baccarin as Anna and Scott Wolf as Chad Decker. NBC and FOX have also released their Fall lineups but I didn't see many remakes there...just lots of similar-sounding shows.
  15. Reviews are starting to come in for this movie: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/terminator_salvation/
  16. And we come to an issue with models. Adding metal does things to models that can make them very unbalanced very easily since the plastic is lighter and thinner.
  17. Considering we're now talking about guns in a thread about toys (which ended a few pages back) and the swine flu (which isn't a big a deal now), show's over move along.
  18. Granted if Graham doesn't ask, then they're not going to say anything to him.
  19. Guess we would be getting the Gundam movies all over again then. Something for the Attention Deficit Disorder-crowd to watch. Then we would hear complaints that 25 episodes is too long.
  20. I've always consider the beam gun adapter to be like a rifle-grenade attachment. The VF-17's gunpod fires bullets in it's normal mode. Ejecting the magazine gives the beam-gun attachment something to attach to as well as attaches the FCS to something. It also clears the breach of any bullets so you can't really shoot the gatling gun side. The beam gun attachment has the e-cap and barrel assembly which you slap over the gunpod and then you shoot. Much like a M1 Garand rifle grenade attachment where you added a rifle grenade attachment, inserted a blank round in the the rifle's breach, loaded the grenade in the barrel attachment and then fired.
  21. They may only release the Alto VF-25F and that would be it. Don't expect a wide range of 1/48s. At most only 2 versions. Add-ons may not even come. They sell more 1/100 or 1/72 model kits (basically the smaller and mid-range kits) than they do the large ones. This is why we have hundreds of 1/100 NG/MG and 1/144 HG Gunpla kits.
  22. Alto-ver will include the sniper rifle. That's about it from the looks of it. Both will have reaction missiles.
  23. Don't forget the press-on nails...Jeebus...keeps those fingers away from me.
