  1. I would also add that Arcadia is competing with Bandai. Look at the VF-25 Renewal. Starting price is about 16000 - 20000 Yen. Not to say the construction quality is the same between the two, but if people are willing to pay 16000 Yen for a bandai valk, well then Arcadia is actually selling lower than the competition. Honestly I feel that 15000 Yen for a VF-1 is a bit much too when compared to past retail costs and all one gets extra is a stand (not accounting for inflation and rising labor/engineering costs). But if recall the launch arm for the Yamato valks was about 4000 Yen anyway, so not it is just bundled. As for the YF-19, for me it is pricey as was the VF-4g, but when you consider that Bandai valks are 20000 Yen, and then if you want super parts or armor that is another 10000 Yen, then Arcadia is about in the same ball park. I only wish this came with an updated fold booster too. I do not see Arcadia packaging a separate fold booster because the extras already include the fast packs and other weapons.
  2. Where was this picture taken at?
  3. This is awesome. I am totally going to buy one of these. My other YF-19s are still great and this my favorite valk. The only thing that disappoints me is that this news sets the timeline of other valk releases. This is the first news of an Arcadia valk aside from the VF-1J 30th edition which means we probably will not see anything for the remainder of 2013. Still definitely excited and worth the wait. Be great if they could churn out a few M&M and VF-1Ds in the near term.
  4. I took the same picture at the same store. Some one mentioned that this was a prepainted model and this could be true but I do see in your picture the paint chipping on the backpack hinge. Everything looks like it is painted on. I will probably get this to show my support hoping Arcadia releases more. Regardless, I feel like it would not be in the best interest of Arcadia to just release this one valk. They must have more in the pipeline.
  5. Hey guys. I went to ths Volks in Akihabara today and actually saw the valk on display. I took a picture but I cannot figure out how to post pictures in forums. Anyway I can confirm that all the logos that appear in photos are painted on and all the stripes too. You can believe me or not but I did take a good look at it. The other thing I noticed was that because the valk is painted in many colors you could already see on the display model that the paint was chipping where there were hinges especially with the black paint on the backpack hinges. Not only this but the paint seemed to bleeding on the fuselage due to all the rainbow pin stripping. I have to say I was but turned off. I will try to post a picture If I can.
  6. I went to Mandarake and the trade in value for a vf-4g was 14000 yen. They then sell it for 68000 yen. If only I could meet the guy selling it to Mandarake I would give him 20000 yen.
  7. I feel like I could by a 3D printer and just crank out valks for these prices. Not sure how much a 3d printer is but this is crazy!
  8. WOW!!! Where did you find these at? That is a nice collection.
  9. I would say for a cannon odder version that is expensive. I saw a Nora and Eivind for 14700 and 18900 yen respectively. I would think the fodder version would be cheaper than the main character versions.
  10. I have been reading this post and all the gloom and doom, but I wanted to put in my two cents and optemistic assessment. I do not believe the Macross line will go away despite the re-branding; we may see a delay in new Valks though and just more re-releases. As far as I know the engineering and design teams and people are still the same, and we saw in the last year many new valks and re-releases. I am sure that Yamato was negotiating this company change in the background of its current productions, because it still wanted to make money, and also show the new company that the market for these models clearly exists and is worth persueing. I think this is why we saw the re-release of the VE-1 and VF-4G, one being a unique model that not many people picked up the first time around, and therefore there was a garunteed demand for it, and the other being a complete new design, both of which created hype and demand to the point where they sold out pretty quick. This gives the perception that demand and the market exist. With the next year, I would think that (and really hope) we see some re-releases of the VT-1 and MAX&MIRA valks. My reasoning for this is that the VF V2 molds and line are proven solid and we know the molds already exist since the M&M models are just bundled VF-1s with strike parts, and repaints. The only difference is that there is a demand for these now. Same goes for the VT-1 which is pretty much the VE-1 with suttle differences. So the company could continue the production of the VF-1 line and produce these models with almost garunteed success they will sell out and make money, while in the background either try to engineer the next Valk using Yamato methods or insert there own design techniques. I do not think this new company can afford to stay out of the Marcross market for a year while it tries to discover its self. Plus they can continue to ride the wave of success that came with the 30th anniversary. We may see re-packaging, but it would not be in the best interest of the company to axe this line. Think of it, people bought duplicates of VF-1s they already had, just for option parts!!! They have us hooked; all they need to do add some $3 option parts and they get $100+ out us. Invest $3 and get $100+ sounds like a good business to me and return on investment. And I am pretty sure this would be the same for M&M re-releases because if they are smart they will make the options parts red and blue making them even more of a temptation for people to buy them again. (And as much as I want an M&M set, I do not want it bad enough to pay $400 for each right now). Anyway, those are my two (maybe more) cents.
  11. This happened to me. I pre-ordered mine with the Elint Seeker. Never got them in the November. Then I waited for the December restock. They never came and now they say discontinued even though my HLJ cart still says order pending. Really sucks since i did pre-order from anyone else thinking HLJ was smart and would not over order.
  12. I live in Japan and know of a few places that still have some in stalk as of two weeks ago. I do not know about state side. I was wondering, when did you place your pre-order? I pre-ordered mine back in September and now HLJ shows them as discontinued.
  13. Thought I would apend to this thread, but check out the Fan Film "Valkyrie Project" on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fp8hhXaMfQ
  14. So I pre-ordered these back in September from HLJ along with the VE-1, and when I log into my account on HLJ it says I placed my Order on 27 December and the strike parts are on back order (already got the VE-1 a month ago). So I am trying to figure out what is going on with people getting these already when I had already pre-ordered them? I hope they release M&M as well and the VT-1 since it is pretty much the VE-1 with some slight mold differences.
  15. Roger, thanks again. I guess I need to check facebook more often. Just curious, does Yamato do any other unvailings throughout the year, and is there campus/building open just for normal tours, or was this just a closed special event? If not, I would like to go see their showroom on any other given day if it is open. Agian thank you. Who knows maybe next year the VF-4G will be on sale at their showroom.
  16. Thanks for the update. That actually sucks because I found out it was just a walk away from Akiabara and I was just there this past Saturday and Sunday. If I would have know about it I would have been there since it sounds like people got some good stuff. Maybe next year, but in what forum/site/post was this announced? I just want to make sure that when next year comes around I know when to look for it since it seems like in 2011 it was in January.
  17. Okay, so I live in Japan right now and am trying to figure out where this show room is and if it is still open? Does someone know of the address/train station/ or how long this event goes for? I would love to go down there and checkout the scene.
  18. Thanks for the info. Although I am waiting probably like many people that Yamato will reissue the M&M like the VE-1 and also hopefuly re-release the VT-1. I would think Yamato would because they are doing reissues with option parts and since M&M models are Blue and Red, they would need to reissue these both with option parts in the respective colors. The VE-1 reissue has grey option parts which are different from the white on the VF-1 and VF-1D so it would make sense. Hopefully 2013 brings some surprises.
  19. Have a question about the 1/60 Bandai Macross Frontier models. I was reading anymoon.com about the re-release of these and was having trouble trying to figure out how to tell the difference in packaging from a version 1 and a version 2 release. From what I have read, only the VF-25F and VF-25S were re-released but are there differences in the packaging that can help me spot the difference? My next question was that I heard that none of the super armor or super pack sets from the version 1 models will work on the version 2 models; is this true? I later read that Bandai was going to re-release superpack/armor sets for the version 2 but has this happened yet and what does packing look like for those. I recently went to a Mandarake store where it looked like they had the super armor and super packs and they were packaged in a white box with a wireframed Valkerie with only the armor parts overlayed in color to show what you were buying.
  20. So I am somewhat new to the Yamato Line and was wondering if you could help me clear up some confusion. I personally like the M&M models but I get confused on the models and versions. What is the difference between the 1A, 1J, and 1S variants? Also as far as I know right now, Yamato has is on V2 of the 1/60 release, and never released a V2 of the 1/48. In addition, what are the differences between the DYRL? M&M models vs. the standard series versions. I know these are noob questions but could someone help clear this up for me?
  21. You are all correct. It was 4000 and 9000 yen for the 1/60 models (I added one to many zeros).
  22. It did not have the boosters and it was not on their website. I am heading down their today to check it out though. Sometimes their website is not the most up todate. I did not have the fast packs. I am going down today since their website is not the most up to date.
  23. I found a 1/48 Max and Mira for 8400 Yen each new and also a 1/60 Max for 90,000 yen and 1/60 Mira for 40000 Yen new ( I think they are version 1 because the box has the clear plastic top and not the flip up lid for the 1/60 models). I do not know if these are good prices but I live near Tokyo and have been finding some good Yamato models around here.
  24. Man I wish I would have known about this sale. HLJ has all the VF-22s from M7 for only 8400 Yen each. The problem is that if I buy them I will need to get all the M7 yamator models which means more coinage. I live in japan and just picked up a VF-0S and VF-0A for 8400 Yen each at a Mandarake store brand new! Now all I need are the ghost bosters and at 2800 Yen each that is pretty tempting. I also wanted to ask that I have been finding a few Yamato items for about 6000-9000 Yen at these stores and was wondering if a VF-1A (blue)and V1-T (trainier) for 5000 Yen each is a good price???
