  1. Aw, no use pretending; I know I'll end up checking it out, if nothing else is on. But I doubt I'll see it in theaters... The would-be petrolhead in me is extremely bummed at the fact that they've no doubt destroyed another cool ass and rare Coupe, for the sake of a fanservice stunt (that part of the trailer made me wince a little). There were already very few of 'em made to begin with compared with say, Mustangs or Chevelles; AFAIK, they're still not repro'ing them yet, either. I concur with jenius: nothing fun about the first (2) films. In fact, they're pretty dark, when you think about what Max has to deal with. But I think I see your point though, Duke; the stunts and action are nothing short of effin' awesome, and hold up well even compared to modern action flicks.
  2. Indeed, I prefer the original, simpler interpretation of the Stormtrooper--and the Empire in general--as a (mostly) faceless, evil and oppressive entity that our heroes must resist... but I can appreciate their willingness to show the more "human" side to the Empire as well.
  3. My initial reaction (to the trailer) was: why the fu*k am I seeing a Stormtrooper (other than Luke or Han in disguise) without a helmet (regardless of race)? Mind you, my experience is rather limited, to the first 3 films, with only some skimming of the prequels. All those other spinoffs, series, cartoons and other sh*te just don't exist for me. The series as a whole just flowed better, was much more enjoyable when they took their initial inspiration from the old 40's movie serials/Kurosawa films, and followed the K.I.S.S. principle as far as story & characters. ed: oh wait, I have to take that back. I watched this one with the younguns, and it was actually pretty funny... as stuff-you-have-to-sit-through-with-the-kids goes.
  4. Fah! Get back to us when you get started on a Legion of Doom pic, WB. "All I want is pants. A decent pair of pants!"
  5. Hmm, that Disco Volante is definitely a polarizing design. It does look kinda funky from certain angles--but in a good way.
  6. I've had an LOL moment every episode so far. Hehe, I've already got the No Time For Bird Sex ringtone on my phone.
  7. I was pretty stoked when I saw the first half of the trailer. But by the end... It looks like they're gonna take the 'fridge, launch it into orbit on satanic pinwheels, then nuke it with backpack-missle-firing sharks that are jumping over sharks with lasers. (bloody 'ell, I want a gif of that) ed: dino genetic-hybrids? Seriously?
  8. Well, it sounds like it's got some chops, anyway... I won't be happy 'til I make mine sound just like this high strung sonovabi*ch right heah, though...
  9. Kinda cool, how they gave it "fangs" in the grille. That new front end treatment just looks f'ed up from any angle other than dead ahead, though...
  10. I know Mustangs are done to death in the restomod movement--but hell, this one's so friggin kewl... I love the design direction; and all the build details; and that powertrain, sweet!
  11. I glanced over some of the Roush Performance site, particularly the Stage 2 info. Hey, if you're gonna upgrade, may as well go all out, right? Prices "starting at $8,995." So let me get this straight. Forkin' over 9-grand or more--in addition to what you've already paid for the car--will get you: a body kit; some special badging and decals; 15 HP and 10 lb/ft? Did I see that right? You f***ing kiddin' me? ed: "but it comes with a warranty..." Whathefu*kever.
  12. Don't like the front end treatment. Too damn much front overhang. That Jimmy Durante nose dang near gives it FWD-like proportions, from some angles.
  13. Pretty awesome, to be able to go to work in his dad's old "office" like that... Never let it be said that these guys have no sense of humor...
  14. Man; makes me nostalgic for my old RA65. I remember wanting/planning to drop 'er a couple inches, and putting some nice wide mini-lite styled wheels 'n meats underneath; kinda like that one... or maybe some black/chrome BBS style wheels, to pop against the side trim
  15. I must say I am a bit gobsmacked at the idea that an accomplishment this huge isn't receiving any more media or social attention than it is. Your move, NASA...
