Dr. Quymn, Medicine Woman is now up for view on adultswim.com, and it's HEE-f'in-LARIOUS! LOL moments galore! Dr. Quymn is a hottie [as cartoon chicks go]. But hey, if I were Brock, I'd get shagadelic with that Ginnie. Hey. There's things we do that we ain't proud of. But we do 'em. Loads of knee-slappin funny lines. "I think I've found my cure for impotency! Now, if I could just figure out how to bottle that ass, I'd be a millionaire!" and the coupe de gracie... --"Ah ga boo ga wee la wa cha wee na boo ga..." [i thought those f*#@ing people would never leave! Where the hell were you?!] --"Meh ce ta, ooh la wee na gi ba wah neh wah..." [Down by the river, putting fake blood on stuff. Where were you?!] --"Wah le ah na weh la ga wa cha neh wah...." [Getting my ass handed to me by a f*#@ing orangutan!!!]

So how big will this figure be again at 1/60 scale? Many moons ago, I picked up a bunch of the old Exo-Squad Robotech re-issues out of the "clearance bin" at Toys R Us [oh God, I'm getting old ], the 7" Destroids were like $3.99, tried to get 2 of ea of 'em. Makes me damned glad I got 'em, if this is the alternative for Destroid figures. Okay, so the Yamato ver will have clearly superior detailing/weathering--but other than that, what? Maybe 2 more points of articulation, better posability in the legs? And that's supposed to justify payin $80+ more for ea? My ass. Them guys at Yamato is full o' sh*t... And to think, I was debating giving them more of my hard-earned dough for some 1/48's...

$84.99 for a non-transforming Destroid? Yamato, are you f'ing kidding?

I am curious if Dermot--or rather, his mom--will turn up again later in the season? Seemed a bit ominous that they kept her face in shadow. --"Ah like your new costume." --"Ah like huggin' you in your new costume."

Funny that he hates him? Not surprising at all. Nice play on the "like personalities repel" angle. Besides, what dad doesn't want to beat the hell outta their son when they get to be a teenager? The skeleton in the bio dome was a bit gruesome. From the arrangement of bones, it seems that before the flesh decomposed, you probably wouldn't have been able to see where the head went.

The Buddy System up at adultswim.com as of Sat nite; once again, VB provides lots of LOL's with comedy gold. [ed. there's a glitch with clip #2 though, miss a good 2 1/2 minutes! ] "...tell mom you need excitement, tell dad you need a cashier's check. And we'll see you there! At Rusty's Day Camp for Boy Adventurers!" So was Brock's rampage a little bit of a shot at Marvel? When he leaps into the fray with Sgt. Hatred's men, the hairy Sasquatch costume and claws, along with his blonde locks, makes him strongly resemble a well-known feral-mutant assassin, another guy with a penchant for bloodthirsty rampages...

LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)

Yup, I remember that one. Another fine example of their extensive use of foreshadowing. --"...you must have been passed out from all the wine, but trust me most of it was awful!" I dunno, Alpha--are Tim Tom and Kevin really moles? or just being their exceptionally bad selves? We already know they had a major part in Dr. Girlfriend's first "solo assignment" not working out, i.e. "Shadowman 9:", she says something about "...my moppets were a bit hard to control..." or to that effect? Could be they just want to kill Monarch cause he's "taking" Dr. Girlfriend from them?

HAH! Not bloody likely! Don't be surprised if they just rip off Kawamori's VF-0 design, since it has [relatively] low exposure to domestic audiences. Its overall design is bears enough similarity to the classic VF's, but it also has "stealthy" design cues that make it look more futuristic, yet different from contemporary real-world fighter designs. Hell, copying other peoples' work and re-hashing it for profit has always worked for Hollywood before; why in the world would anyone expect them to take the high road now? -
Yeah, I was wondering if that would be the "official" explanation for Dr. Girlfriend's voice. Too funny, considering how much they've played it up over the past 2 seasons...

For those with the $$$ to blow, and think the upcoming Z06 just isn't enough. "Conceived, designed, developed and constructed by the championship-winning Pratt & Miller team, the Corvette C6RS bristles with sophisticated materials and race-inspired technology. Pratt & Miller can take your Corvette Z06 and transform it into a C6RS supercar. The aggressively styled lightweight body, made entirely of carbon fiber, measures 1.6 inches wider than a production Corvette Z06. The carbon fiber front fascia has integrated brake ducts and ram air induction. Aerodynamic enhancements include functional front fender louvers, a carbon fiber underwing and rear diffuser, enlarged front wheel vents and rear brake ducts, an integrated rear spoiler, and a front splitter. Powered by a Katech Performance 8.2-liter (500ci) all-aluminum small-block V-8 engine that produces 600 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. torque, the Pratt & Miller Corvette C6RS employs a purpose-built carbon fiber body to reduce weight and improve aerodynamic efficiency. A computer-controlled adjustable suspension system, center-nut forged aluminum BBS wheels with Michelin tires, and massive Brembo monobloc disc brakes enhance vehicle dynamics. A two-tone leather interior and a comprehensive sound control system produce a quiet, comfortable environment for driver and passenger." Jeezus.... http://www.prattmiller.com/c6rs/

Just watched Invisible Hand....LOLOL! Nice to see they're still keeping up to par on the topical humor--you'd miss the the little Abu Ghraib reference in the O.S.I. flashback if you blink. --"Oh yeah, well the Village People called, and they want you to go *bleeping* kill yourselves, you prancy bastards! Place's gone to hell in a ham sandwich since they 86'd the dress code." I dunno, I wouldn't be surprised if maybe this "flashback" of Billy's was a bit of manufactured-memories, a la Total Recall. There were some things that were just too much to be coincidence, like Race Bannon AND Steve Austin being at O.S.I. h'quarters the same time as Brock? Shiela/Dr. Girlfriend is in college--and a student of Fantomos' to boot [but that's feasible--could explain how they meet, go on the picnic that gets her into "Ee-vil," but in combination with everything else]? And anyone else notice the hostess on the Quizboys show was the hooker that Monarch tries to kill in Fallen Arches? When just about EVERYBODY you've ever seen starts making a cameo in someone's flashback, it begins to make me a bit suspicious. The references to the Guild's decades-long ties to the Venture family--both real and implied--were pretty cool.

Is the pilot ep of Venture Bros. by chance on either of the DVD's that are out now? I've never seen it, but there's a clip in the "10-Best Brock Fights" on adultswim.com, and it's fuggin' awesome! Brock pretty much eviscerates a crocodile that's stowed away in a luggage bin on the X1. It's cool to see the characters in their more rough-hewn, "original" conceptions.

It certainly seemed that Killinger was grooming Rusy Venture to make a Supervillian of him; the gaudy costume, the "Venchmen," evicting the "extended family" from the premises, the sudden disappearance of would-be arches at the compound, etc. Killinger does seem to be working on a sort of karmic agenda; given Rusty's personality, and "character flaws," it does seem he would've been more suited to be a supervillian.

Just watched The Doctor is Sin. Pretty f'in good. So Monarch did "quit" arching Dr. Venture? I'm sure it's not permanent though. Loved how he got Dr. Orpheus and everybody to help "pitch the sell" to the General. What IS the deal with Killinger, though? Is he a wizard? A devil? He certainly was taking Rusty in a wierd new direction though...

Oh, I'm sure Monarch's got plenty of angst left to direct at Rusty Venture for some time to come. And no, JsARCLIGHT, you're not the only one to notice that Council member's resemblance to the perv in the Guild video shown to Dr. Orpheus [considering the time it takes to conceptualize, design, and draw characters for an animated show, I'd say nothing like that is just coincidence]. LOL, I love the way the Council of 13--this ultra-secretive, mega-powerful, world-wide crime syndicate--winds up being like a bunch of dithering old ninnies, babbling like old ladies at bridge-club or something. Speaking of nothing being left to coincidence--my thoughts turn to questions raised by certain things you'll hear characters say--almost in passing--during the show; seemingly insignificant things at first, but when you think about how stuff tends to come back up later on in the show... --Dr. Girlfriend says at one point: "I did what you asked! I made him promise to stop arching Dr. Venture!" --And we hear Monarch ask the Council in a rather nonchalant manner: "...hey who killed him [Dr. Venture] anyway? You guys must know..." Just WHY is the Guild so interested in protecting Rusty Venture? Oh sure, they have professional standards to maintain--like "the supervillians' OSHA" or something--but it still makes one wonder if all this is hinting at some deeper plot twist to come.

Actually, they alluded to the Monarch's being in college with Rusty, Brock, Baron Underbheit and Pete White before [Past Tense, sea. 1]. Rusty jokes with Pete and Mike Sorayama in one part about "this wierd kid with funny eyebrows...that likes to go on with poetry about butterflies" in one of his classes. These guys have really done an excellent job of establishing details in early eps that flesh out the story later in the series. And I too would lay odds that the revelation about Malcolm's responsibility for Baron's lab mishap is bound to come up again in later eps. Sure, the irony made for a great joke in Shadowman 9:, but it's too good not to develop further. handy dandy ep guide here: http://www.venturebroswiki.com/vbwiki/Vent...._Episode_Guide

That's actually Hank and Dean's mother [sorry, I forget her name]. Her backstory is expounded on in I Know Why the Caged Bird Kills, sea. 2. She was assigned to protect Rusty before Brock, but after developing feelings for Dr. Venture [a la The Bodyguard? ], they have one brief and taudry encounter in the back seat of his dad's Venture Motors prototype [which is modeled on a vintage SAAB, I think?], and she has the boys as a result. She's definitely "wound a bit too tight," and has been separated from the boys practically all their lives, so she doesn't know they've been cloned dozens of times due to their being "death-prone."

Meh, the grille opening is somewhat large--looks a bit too Maserati-ish. Looks like there could just as easily be a trident there instead of a prancing horse. Pretty cool otherwise...

Remake of Red Dawn? Nah, it's pretty much Cold War fare; doesn't need to be remade, nor should it. Yeah, I like Red Dawn--there, I said it. True, there were some flaws that definitely add to the movie's cheese-factor today: the heart-on-their-sleeve sentimentality; the melodromatic, uber-stoicism from the teenage "heroes" [C. Thomas Howell's "standoff" with the Russian gunship is one real groaner that comes to mind]; Ron O'Neal's strained Spanish--but that being said, it was still the brat-pack at their grittiest and best. Oddly enough, one of the reasons I liked the movie was because I always thought a lot of aspects of the pyrotechnics/SFX were much more realistic than other war movies of the time [or since]. from imdb.com: "The film's replica Russian T-72 tank was so precise that when it was transported to the studio, two CIA agents followed and wanted to know where it had come from."

I dare say The Venture Bros. stands the best chance at making a successful live-action transistion to the big screen....if done well, it has the potential to make for a hit comedy film series the likes of which not seen since the Austin Powers trilogy [although that one petered-out by the 3rd installment].
