  1. You're a TV? No, wait! YOU'RE INVISIBLE!!!
  2. It is the end of an era. I was living on Long Island in NY when the Concorde was first scheduled to land at Kennedy. I remember, somewhat the furor over the amount of noise that it was expected to create. I thought it was pretty cool that such a sleek looking airliner was flying. I'll be able to see one up close and personal at the new Smithsonian museum when it opens. Very much looking forward to that.
  3. Sending out some good karma! I hate finding out that someone that you thought was trustworthy - isn't. Glad to hear that you are in one piece still!
  4. Very nice work! I'll be interested to see what sort of diorama you had in mind. B)
  5. Ah......the venerable old Spad. My fav hands down is the F-14. A very close second is the A-4 Skyhawk.
  6. Bandai Tamashii site Just saw this over at ToyboxDX. Bandai has this nice site detailing current and future releases of the FIX Figuration, Mobile Suit In Action, Soul of Chogokin and other related items. For FIX fans, seems there will be Zakus in your future. Oh, and before I forget, the site is in Japanese, but the release dates are legible.
  7. I last saw DD in 1998 at the Middle East. There was a band that opened for him, and Dick was rather awestruck by the female lead singer for the band.
  8. I've seen both Bob Mould and Dick Dale live. I actually got to meet and talk to Bob after one of his shows at the Palladium in Hollywood, and Dick's show, well, it was pretty wild (saw him at the Huntington Pier back in '84). My dad's an old longboarder, so I've been listening to Surf my whole life. The Ventures are pretty decent for old school surf too. That's cool. I have not had the pleasure of talking to Bob yet, and he lives here in DC. I've seen him 7 or 8 times now and he DJs at a local club every Saturday night. Dick Dale still rocks! His show was amazing and it was a riot to see these grey haired old ladies at the show. Turned out they are family members of his. The show I saw was in Cambridge Mass, and I was surprised to find out that Dick is from Quincy, Mass. Explained why the old ladies were there!
  9. Unfortunately, I don't own any of the older stuff.................yet, but I used to listen to Jamaica 60's Stylee on MSN radio. Nice mix of old ska. The Brit ska bands from the 80's are still excellent. I think the Pietasters would be considered 3rd wave. I have a tape called Ska - The Third Wave and it's got the Pietasters, Dancehall Crashers, and Mustard Plug, just to name a couple.
  10. Yeah, being from Chicago, Naked Raygun would play a sold out show about every 3 months and all the punk kids from the Chicago area would be there. I had friends for 5 years that I ONLY ever saw at Raygun shows. Everytime they'd play they'd have a couple hundred "promotional products" made up with their logo on it. One time it was Naked Raygun plastic water bottles (with insulator). Another time it was Naked Raygun inflatable planes. The best was on a Mother's Day show and they had Naked Raygun rubber lid grippers. Anyways, halfway through the show everyone would start chanting "Free crap" and the band would start throwing a couple hundred of these things into the crowd. It was the best!!! Did I mention I was an extra in an MU330 video? They were filming the video for Father Friendly (off of the Crab Rangoon album) in Madison And I got to be in the crowd at the church. It was funny because the drummer for Blue Meanies set it up and he was my buddy, so we were all out drinking the night before and I ended up drinking right up until 7am I showed up literally drunk off of my ass!!! Wow, that sounds cool. The only claim to fame that I can make like that is I think I was once filmed during a Real World segment for the Boston cast. One question - how the heck do I do the multiple quote thing in a post??!?!?!?!! Would you mind explaining it to me, as there has been a couple of times in the last couple of days that I have wanted to do this!
  11. [homer] mmmmm.......Jessica Biel......[/homer]
  12. Did I forget to mention DK? Well, make that two other guys!!! If you're a bit of a closet punker, and like Ska, you might want to check out Slapstick (if you haven't already). They were, what I consider, one of the first Punk/Ska (instead of Ska/Punk, ala' Less Than Jake, MU330, etc.) bands. They were only around for 3 years but they were awesome. You can check out a very comprehensive fansite HERE. I may be biased because they were my buddies, but they were pretty damned good. p.s.- Funny side note, the lead singer of Slapstick, Brendan (who now plays for The Lawrence Arms) once told me that his first concert memory was being at a Naked Raygun show when he was 12 or 13 and seeing me setting my hair on fire for money. ... Those were the days. p.p.s.- Did I mention Naked raygun as one of my all-time favorite bands? No? Well Naked Raygun is one of my all-time favorite bands. Drew - thanks for the heads up. I will have to check out their site when I have some time later. Sounds like you might've barely survived your younger days! DK trivia note - the DK's had Brandon Cruz, formerly of The Courtship of Eddie's Father, as their frontman. He played Eddie in the show. Naked Raygun......wow, cool. I saw MU330 once, opening for Skavoovie and the Epitones (which I recommend!) They were pretty good live. Don't really get out to too many shows these days.
  13. I too, am a child of the 70's.......gonna be 36 this year............ I listen to Bob Mould in his various incarnations (solo, Sugar, Husker Du) mostly. But I have an affinity for ska, ranging from the early days to the third wave bands. Always been a bit of a closet punker. It's nice to see that there is one other person who still digs the Dead Kennedys. Surf music has been growing on me lately though. Ever since I picked up Dick Dale's Unknown Territory, I have discovered another favorite music genre. There are some bands and tunes from the 70's that I still dig. I have been wanting to get some anime music soundtracks, primarily from Cowboy Bebop. What would be a good starting point for CB? The Real Folk Blues has really grown on me. Any thoughts?
  14. I have this one as well, currently in GP-04 mode. My Gerbera fell off my CD case twice! The arm pieces could have been done better, as I had a heckuva time getting them stay on. I also had difficulty getting the hand that holds the weapon that the Gerbera uses to stay on. Once I got things together, it looks very cool. I feel that despite the poor design of the arm pieces, it's a worthwhile investment. There needs to be more enemy mecha in the FIX line. Has Katoki done any of the enemy mecha?
  15. Wow. Fanastic work Master Cheng! Please take a pic of the 21 next to the 19 that you did, if you would not mind. Think that would make a cool wallpaper. I look forward to watching your next project, whatever that may be.
  16. Was just searching for a pic or two, and came across this: Space Giants episodes Goldar:
  17. I agree. Whoever broke into Valve's network should be strung up.
  18. Schtuff happens I guess...............
  19. Isn't it funny that all they show are the same 2 Duke Nukem screen caps? I mean... who the heck do they think they are fooling? Last time I heard they went from the Quake 2 to the Unreal engine. Why do I small another Daikatana without the flamboyish that was John Romero. I go to 3D Realms periodically to check things out in the forums. They are pretty militant about the release date being "When its done." I have been waiting for this game, but have resigned myself to the fact that I don't ever expect to see it on the shelves. I don't think that I necessarily agree with the attitude at 3D Realms and WID, but they could at least release a new screenie or two. I hope it won't be another Daikatana, but............................ I do think we will see HL2 and Doom3 within the next 6 months.
  20. Interesting tidbit about HL2 at Bluesnews: Bluesnews - just scroll down a bit Maybe April 2004? Maybe not? Only the Shadow knows................
  21. It'd be fun to DM with you guys. I am hoping that HL2 will live up to the hype. Haven't really been online with many games. But I get together with a buddy of mine in Orlando each week on average to play Quake2. We spent 12 months going through 720 3rd party maps for Quake2. I know Q2 is way old now, but it's still fun........especially when you add the Weapons of Destruction patch. I know it's old skool, but would anyone be willing to join in a little Q2 DM sometime? I'm an HPB (still stuck in dialup land), but even though my friend hosts, I usually get the better of him. B)
  22. I think these little kits are pretty cool. I have 3 VF-11C and 2 Fire Valk models. Think that I may have to add a couple of the 17s to that collection too. Still not sure that I like the MAXL valk though.
