I have that one. It's very nice. It sits next to my Yamato and SDF-1 representative of my holy trinity of formative anime. But the wings don't articulate. It doesn't have the other team vehicles. So, it just feels like it's missing something. I was thinking of chasing down a Unifive later this year, but they can be pricey. -

I just saw this on AmiAmi. I was about to click pre-order when I saw: Evolution Toy Now, I don't loathe the VF-2SS by ET like others here. However, I was disappointed in it compared to it's price. Reviews of their Alpha toys are iffy as well. So, do I roll the dice on this one? Gonna have to think on this. -

I decided I already had Sylvie, so I wasn't going to set my alarm to wake up and place an order for this. Back with the Sylvie HMR, I managed to comfortably get a PO in at CDJapan well into my normal morning hours after the pre-orders had opened. So, I figured I'd just check when I got in to work today. If any Nexx's were still available from AmiAmi, HLJ, or CDJ, then I'd PO one. Otherwise, I still have Sylvie, so I can do without or maybe get one on release. I check this morning and all three of my store options have them available. I decide what the hell and PO one. I decided to use AmiAmi.

They had it, because I ordered it from there. Yet, now when I go into order history and try to pull up the item I get that the item cannot be found. A while back I've noticed that AmiAmi has started yanking down item pages after they close orders and sometimes relisting them in order closed status under a new item number later. My only guess as to why they're doing this is because people keep pinging the sold out pages hoping for the item to come back in stock (as sometimes happens).

Hmm. I was curious, so I decided to add up my expenditures on Macross figure stuff. I consider the start of my serious Macross collecting to be about 3 years ago when I ordered my VF-19. It was my first true Macross valkyrie. I had a couple of scales before that and some blu ray stuff, but the overwhelming bulk of my Macross collecting has been in the past 3 years. And in those three years, probably a hair over $7K usd. -
I've liked how every one of those finished 1/20 character kits has looked so far. If they were pre-painted scales in the 1/8 to 1/6 range I'd definitely buy. But since they're model kits then they're pointless for me, because they certainly wouldn't look anything like the pictures if I assembled and tried to finish them.

I broke down and ordered an HMR Defender. It arrived yesterday. At first I wasn't impressed at all by it. It was a pretty similar reaction to what I had when I received my first HMR, the VF-2SS. But I started playing with it and as I posed it and explored the toy, I warmed to it. Speaking of the VF-2SS, I decided to see how the Defender compared to it, so I put them next to each other and had them both in the play pattern for a bit. Then something horrible happened. I think suddenly HMR clicked for me. I ordered a Hikaru VF-1A last night. Macross gods have mercy on me! In the name of our blessed singer Minmay, please have mercy!

I've been ordering from AmiAmi for about 4 years now. They are my go-to store for any kind of stuff like this. So far everything I've ordered from them has been packed well and has arrived in excellent condition. My dealings with customer service have been limited to a question about an item and having to cancel a total of 3 items in all my time pre-ordering from them. To that extent, customer service has been acceptable. My worry is that two of those three cancellations were back in Sept/Oct last year. I was up front with them about my situation and felt it was only right for me to give them as much advance notice on the items as possible. I got the standard "we did this as a courtesy" message, my pre-orders were cancelled, and everything seemed normal. My outstanding pre-orders went fine. My pre-order for the YF-19 seems to have been accepted. Then I ordered a couple of in-stock figures a couple of days ago. I got a message that my order was too high of value to pay with a credit card, and I had to pay with Paypal. I haven't had to pay an AmiAmi order with Paypal since my very first order when it was explicitly "we don't trust you enough to let you pay with any other option". In addition, I've had plenty of orders with higher totals than this one. So, I feel I'm in the dog house. I think I'm on the Naughty List and have to prove myself again. It makes me worry that if they have a shortage of YF-19s, then I'm definitely not on the priority list.

Had the cancel/coupon email from HLJ this morning. My YF-19 order has been removed. Now my hopes ride with my AmiAmi order.

Has anyone who received the HLJ notice to expect cancellation had their order actually cancelled yet?

I had an email this morning too. I got an order in at AmiAmi, so I think I'm good if HLJ cancels my order. I only ordered it from HLJ because AmiAmi was unresponsive during the critical seconds. Anyone have any guesses on when HLJ will provide a final say on whether we have orders with them or not?

An hour later and still no email or order showing with HLJ. I'm kind of hoping the order there doesn't go through, but it would be nice to know one way or the other. I'm going to try and get a couple more hours sleep. Today is going to be horrible for me. G'night. Edit: and just got my HLJ confirmation email and order shows in history.

I got an order in at HLJ, but the order doesn't show up on history and I haven't received an email. AmiAmi was very slow, but I got an order in there. I have an acknowledgement email.

Well, yes. But unlike Lisa, I'm not trying to dissuade others. I'm just explaining my inner debate on whether I'll PO this or not. Weighing it against other things I'd like to get. But here's Malibu Shin again, since he's kinda relevant.

So, it does come with all the missiles? I'd like this, but I already have a VF-19 Advance and an Arcadia YF-19. The arm cannon alone isn't enough of a "new hat" to make me feel like I must have it. But the missiles would be compatible with my VF-31s, right? That multi-purpose might be enough to make me pre-order. Still, not sure, though. If I do, I'll probably have to crash as soon as I get off work, get a few hours sleep, then wake in the middle of the night. Not sure if I want to do that, because while the Advance mold is cool, the Arcadia version is more handleable and fun to play with.

I was showing someone pictures of my Mirage VF-31. The pictures had been in jet mode and then I got to one in battloid mode. The person said, "OH! It's a Go-Bot!" I'm mortified.

Yes, the 31A canopy is clearer. I have both the A and Mirage's C. The A is tinted. The C is frosted and almost opaque. As for the pod, they both have the same charger pod.

I don't know about others, but I didn't pre-order. I placed an order after someone here said Loopaza had them in stock. Order was placed March 21. The VF-31A I received was in it's special shipping box.

Well, good news. But I'm not interested in streaming. I want blu-rays. And on the Bandai front, why no Chogokin Andromeda yet? Wasn't the 2199 Yamato already at least on pre-order at this point in that series?

I ordered from Loopaza (assuming that's what you meant) and got mine. I think Mommar ordered one from there. The last said (which was some time ago), it had shipped but hadn't left Hong Kong. Mommar, any update?

My VF-31A arrived! Loopaza basically just stuck the Bandai packing box inside another only slightly larger box. No padding or bubble wrap whatsoever. Just two protective layers of cardboard (the Loopaza box and the Bandai box) to protect the Valk box. Luckily, this little lady seems to have emerged from her prolonged shipping unscathed. I've taken the fighter out, installed the seat cover and pilot, and placed it on it's stand with the missile pods open. Nothing more to say. I'm happy it's finally here. Maybe pics sometime this weekend if anyone cares.

Tracking on my VF-31A says that it's in town and is scheduled to be delivered today! I'll see what happens. I suppose there's still time for the carrier to take it on a trip to Albuquerque
