I'm not saying that people should get every single detail about a movie in one viewing. My comment was about those reviewers who said they CAN'T give an opinion yet on the movie UNTIL they watch it again. It makes me think these reviewers were second guessing their initial opinion because they didn't expect to have the reaction they did at first, and therefore wanted to watch it again, but this time taking into account other people's opinion of the movie and confirm whether they agree with them or not. So basically a second viewing is usually influenced by others and therefore may not be a completely personal or genuine opinion any longer.

I'm just confused why so many people are watching this movie more than once, both those who liked it and those who didn't. I guess it just proves that SW is still one of the most lucrative movie franchises ever and it will sell regardless of quality. One thing I don't get though is why the need to reserve opinion or watch a movie more than once before giving a review on it. I see a lot of reviewers saying they had to watch it at least twice first. Personally, if I missed out on certain details or didn't fully understand something during the first viewing, then it just means that the movie didn't do a good enough job on highlighting these to me. A movie should be good enough that it can deliver on just a single viewing.

Those deleted scenes do nothing to redeem the movie IMO. In fact, I think they make it worse in general. I am glad they cut them out. I'd use that meme too, except that I'd replace the word "BAD" with "GOOD". It's all a matter of opinion.

I like this rant video. He brings up a lot of the things wrong with the movie. My wife is a casual viewer (e.g. Not a SW fan) and she agreed with everything he had to say. SPOILER Warning

IMO, you show respect to the OT by having the characters act according to the personality/behavior that's been established for them, rather than make them do things that make you go WTF. The same thing goes for the tech and tactics within the SW universe. I noticed a lot of things happening in the movie that aren't supposed to happen in SW if you know enough about the lore and history within the universe, otherwise it becomes PIS (plot induced stupidity).

The "Let the past die" theme may sound cool and all for some people, but if they really wanted to break away from what the SW franchise is known for, why even make it a sequel? Just make a new franchise. Or maybe they didn't have the confidence that the movie will be successful without the SW branding. Also, it's not just the OT that TLJ disrespects, but also TFA. There was a lot of build up being done for the newer characters and events during TFA that was either totally disregarded/forgotten or just flat out contradicted in TLJ. TLJ actually makes TFA seem like a worse movie than it is because now it looks like TFA was just trolling the fans.

Personally, I didn't like TLJ because they didn't treat the OT characters and general SW universe with enough respect. It's the same reason why I hated the prequels. There are much better ways of introducing an entirely new main set of characters while respecting the old. One example that immediately comes to mind is the Lunar: Silver Star Story and Lunar: Eternal Blue RPG games. But alas, I don't think many people will remember those games. Perhaps another example is Transformers: Beast Wars. It had a lot of controversy at first since it was so different from the original TF. But later you see how it ties in to G1 and suddenly it's an amazing story.

In my case, the parts that are yellowing were consistent across all valks. Light wasn't the issue since they were in the box. For example, it always affects the nose and cockpit area, but not the bottom of the cockpit around the area where the landing bay doors are. On the bright side, the yellowing is mostly in the same degree so it doesn't look that terrible. In contrast, all my valks on display haven't yellowed the slightest bit, despite some being a few years older than the ones that have yellowed. Maybe more heat built up since they weren't in the open and/or the gasses that were being released couldn't dissipate and thus sped up the yellowing of the plastic. In any case, I'll be keeping all my valks with predominantly white color schemes out on display for now.

I think TLJ killed off the franchise for an old fan like myself. They really screwed things up for how I understand the OT characters and universe works. Too many inconsistencies to list down. There's also almost no legacy leftover from the OT for the succeeding film(s). Kinda makes me think they should've just made their own movie franchise instead of linking it to Star Wars. I really miss the Expanded Universe. In general it was done so much better than the prequels or anything that came after it.

Seems I was mistaken. I took a closer look at my YF-25 again and it has very slightly yellowed. It's hardly noticeable unless I look for it. I am now fairly convinced that keeping my valks in their boxes causes them to yellow much faster, as I've had much older valks out on display that haven't yellowed at all. Guess it's time to rearrange my display.
-
Darn, just took mine out of storage and it's started to yellow too. It's a double shame since the joints on it were still pretty tight after all this time I guess I could always cover it up with all the Armor Parts. Edit: Meh, looks like my Fokker YF-29 is showing signs as well. I checked the rest of my white valks in storage (VF-171EX Murayama, RVF-171EX Luca, and YF-25) and they still seem okay. The white valks I've had on display also seem to be doing just fine. I wonder if keeping it in the box hastens the yellowing process.

I ordered mine on a Friday, Preparation in Progress on Monday, then Shipped on Tuesday via UPS, scheduled to arrive Thursday. They moved quite fast for me this time around, though I've also experienced a few delays in the past. What shipping method did you choose? I noticed they tend to ship things out faster if I pick UPS.

Is that the older Hot Rodimus? Not the Target Master version? -
I decided to jump on the NY opening for the Kai. Yes, it's expensive. But I feel like I'll regret it later on if I pass up on it.

If those CAD images represent the final product proportions and sculpt, this might be the best VF-1 ever IMO.
-
I've been watching KNERDOUT since their early video reviews and I think their opinions are quite valid for the things they discuss. I actually appreciate their format more than most reviewers who just go over the same routine of going over articulation, paint, sculpt, price, etc. Of course there will be some toys that they won't be completely knowledgeable about, but they do understand how a toy collector thinks and share their personal opinions as well, no matter how biased it may be. And since it's 2 guys, you're not just gonna get one opinion all the time as other reviewers. Sometimes they'll agree with each other, sometimes not. But that's what makes their reviews cool to watch.

Yeah I read that before. I was looking for a method that didn't involve modding. Thanks!

To those of you who already received their VF-2SS, are you able to get the heat shield flush in battroid, especially with the stand adapter on? If so, care to share any tips?
-
One issue I have with the SAP, it's so frigging hard to remove the leg parts! They're on really tight and I haven't found a way to get a firm grip on it to pull it off.
-
https://imgur.com/a/goqYq Not the best picture, but I think this stand really works well with the VF-2SS. Although now it looks more like a Gundam with funnels.
-
I put the SAP on. It's actually pretty easy. The only "dumb" issue is how the large backpack connects to the back. It's just using 1 tiny tab (the same one you use to peg the gunpod on the back of battroid or underside of fighter. Though I guess it's not so dumb since it hasn't fallen off on me yet, but it is concerning especially if you are carrying it by its SAP. Otherwise, I agree with Lolicon. There was too much anime magic in the transformation. It's almost unbelievable how Bandai was able to get it looking the way it does in each mode and at this size.
-
I just got mine too and transformed it for the first time into fighter. For those of you who were complaining about the VF-19Advance and VF-171 being overly complex, you're probably not going to like this one. Personally, I loved transforming the Advance and 171. This one, not so much. I think it's because of the scale and the fact that there aren't enough locking tabs for gerwalk and fighter mode IMO. If you're OCD, you're gonna spend time fiddling with the arms, legs, wings, fins, etc in gerwalk and fighter mode since this thing had a TON of moving parts, and no markers to let you know you have them in the correct spot. I also have one annoying QC issue. One of the small leg covers was a duplicate of the other side. They're not supposed to be the same since the shape should be different. It won't be an issue if I always have the SAP on since you have to remove those pieces, but it's still irksome. Overall, I think it's nowhere near perfect, but it's still a great attempt to make a VF-2SS toy, even greater considering the scale.

Lol, even Saburo's pics can't make the VF-31F's head look good to me.

I wonder if people will start storing their ET VF-2SS's in the trash bin
