True. The VF-OS looked like it was stickered up prior to it's final production but to see that most of it was tampoed was a VERY nice surprise. Yamato should tampo everything really... Those of us who'd mod this thing would be good at it enough to cover the stock printing anyway.

It's about as perfect as you can get with the yf-21. But of course, it is a model. Crappers, I wish I had the time to get into models.

Valid point. and I definitely dont think I speak for everyone. I actually edited a CAD drawing before the yf-19 came out and did not do away with the gullet completely but pulled it back a tiny bit.... which it definitely has room for... You're lucky you gotten used to it now. I personally try not to angle my yf-19 in an angle that shows the gullet. I've said this many times but since "STFU" people like Eugimon are still here, I'll say it again. There are some things that HAVE changed for the better because people here voiced their opinions and valid points. Some have been in agreement with Graham and thus he relayed it to yamato.... and sometimes yamato agrees and make adjustments. Who knows? We might have had blue feet yf-19's if we hadn't said anything. We might have ended up with the god awful 1/100 "thunder-thighs" vf-0s, or heck maybe no sv-51 at all.... THEY (yamato) DO LISTEN.... and I know Graham CANT flat out admit that they do... BUT they do... and the international market is a major market for them... and that's why it's worth mentioning for me.

I love what you said about the queen of England! That's exactly what I want to say about yamato! *thumbs up* Yes, you can comment on what I post. Who said anything about not wanting people to respond to my post? I love to debate. Forums are MADE to debate, tug and pull opinions. OPINIONS. You are always welcome to counter-point and say "the legs look FINE to me." People have counterpointed quite a bit (even graham) but you never see me saying "you're battying, so STFU" I'm really not fond of the way you try to shut people up by saying their opinions are "battying and bringing out the tired pony." It's almost as if you take offense to this stuff... You jumped at David H, myself and pretty much anyone who you think is "battying." I'll tell you right now I'll say "chicken hands" till my face turns blue... I hate those skinny, f*ggy hands. What bewilders me is "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU PISSED OFF?" I don't post unavoidable sound clips... They are written words you have to READ... CHOOSE not to read them if they bother you. My post are nicely labeled by a visible avatar with guld grimacing and my screen name NANI?! nicely labeled above it. You live in a democratic society don't you? CHOOSE TO AVOID READING if you think I'm battying.

I can only hope the forthcoming ( ) yamato vf-11b will look as smooth as that vf-11 pictured on the box.
-
Dobber, that paint scheme is sick. You should work for yamato's paint dept and teach 'em a thing or two. Awesome job.

Yea, and what was mentioned about the yf-19 CAD all made it to the final. Wide gap between legs, gullet, skeletor hands. And just as they were points I disliked in the CAD, they remain aspects of the yf-19 sculpt that I don't like. No one talks about it now because it's done and over with. And what do you mean "stuff we dont know"? I'm talking about a visible area projected by the CAD that seems off to me. If you think it sounds like battying, pass on and ignore it~ I'm happy as anyone this thing is being made but what I comment about is visible and there.

CAD drawings usually make rounded parts look bigger. The calf is a rounded part and it looks pretty tapered down even on the CAD, so I can imagine it might look smaller three dimensionally . It's not line art accurate that for sure, but yea, I realize that making a real-life-scale-transforming-model-of- a-fictional-animated-transforming-robot is hard. It's probably a compromise for the sake of a sleek fighter mode. All this is juuuuuussstt speculation. Part of the fun of anticipating.
-
bah... I so wanted this yf-21 to be kick ass in all modes... Looking at the significantly tapered down bell bottom legs and the teeny weeny feet of the CAD, the legs will look more chicken like than the 1/72. Kinda reminds me of a body builder who focused only on training his upper body.

HA! Just saw this post now. It's funny how they keep mentioning "Kawamori says it's this & that color". I mean, they made the yf-21fp purple, the yf-19's neck grey, screwed select buyers like myself over with the vf-0a paint scheme, made the vf-0 ghost light grey and it's missile pods fish-sausage light orange and now took the liberty in making nora's stripes tacky gold. They obviously have significant control over the colors and yet when we mention something's f-ed up, they say it's "Kawamori's idea." Whatever.

Gosh, I'd give anything if yamato made hands like that for the yf-21 and maybe even for the yf-19. What a difference from the t1000 hands they have now...
-
I wonder how the yf-21's hands will look like... I hope it aint them chicken hands~

1/60 YF-21 - Will you be picking up the 1st release version?
Nani?! replied to TheLoneWolf's topic in Toys
After the crooked gunpod, out of the box stressmarked parts, and disfunctional landing gear of the yf-19, along with the frackin bull-schiss they pulled with the vf-0a shin, I've reluctantly joined the wait and see club... -
Wow~ Finally it's official. Definitely worth a post~ Thanks for the news graham.
-
NB4's Ghost is in the color the Ghost should have been... looks awesome
-
I had the entire 1/60 vf-1 series but sold it upon getting my hikaru vf-1s with additional strike parts. Since I would love to keep a consistent scale going, I'd definitely buy them all over again if yamato made a redesigned 1/60 line... (which according to graham seems unlikely).
-
thank you much for pics Graham~ Yamato should know that they should take their time and catch all the "boneheaded" qc issues. I'd rather wait another couple months to get something that free of design related qc issues. I'm also a bit worried about the price they charge for this thing...
-
Looking good so far. The decision to include those accessories out of the box is brilliant (compared to yamato's current standards). It remains to be seen just how brilliant, at least until we know how much it'll cost, but anyway... Any other toy in the market comes with a stand and missile accessories... if they can price this around $200 I'll be all over it regardless of first run QC.
-
Dave your points are killer. Exactly the nutbusting yamato, through graham (if graham actually had the intention of relaying it), should hear. 10 million dollars buys you a state of the art combat aircraft capable of destroying a small city (10 years + worth). When those have QC issues, they're sent right back to the drawing board and hammered out. Considering that it's a 1/60th scale toy that just sits there and looks cool (only after we take the time to panel line and decal it up) costing $200, I reckon the cost-for-what-you-get ratio is worse than the 10 million dollar warbird. So where does this belong? You got it... back on the bloody drawing board.

Could we possibly, maybe, possibly, maybe stop calling the fold booster a dildo now? It was funny at first but now it's just old.... How bout calling it by it's real name? Expensive Plastic POS. Ahhh, see now, that sounds better...
-
When a peice of snap, screwed and glued together plastic costs upwards and over $200, the tolerance for neglected qc issues drops a couple notches. Especially when according to Graham they've had over 4 years to develop this thing. It took what? At max 20 transformations (some straight out of the box) for people here to find out a common problem. Idiotic negiligences like the crooked gunpod in fighter mode also makes me shake my head... These are QC issues that originate from Yamato themselves and not by tired, bored and inadequately paid chinese factory workers. It aint the end of the world, but it's two hundred dollars down the drain and that at least is worth a couple of angry posts on this forum.
-
It wont be abused if they only offer parts that are manufactured defective or have qc issues... Defective part replacements should be free... I'll pay the shipping. The abuse is just as likely to be on yamato's part. If they can charge for parts (parts that should have been right in the first place) that's extra money in their pockets for issues they created. That's just wrong. It'll make them negligent of catching qc issues the first time around and in an extreme case, quite possibly make them purposefully rush productions with known qc issues, because parts are an extra source of income... If that was the case, I'd drop out of this hobby all together.
-
heh heh, Being that it's supposed to be black, I suppose it doesn't take a "Jenius" to pick the right color. The dark dark grey used for this SV-51 is what the ghost should have been colored as. I hope they tampo print the markings... on a white valk, sticker edges dont show too well, but it's dead obvious on a darker colored surface..
-
oh wow. I go on a business trip and bam, I come back and find this. Definitely looks cool, but I wonder how QC free this one will be...

My sig is good for at least 5 more months. They haven't made anything yet... and we're talking about vaporware yamato here. It's less likely now, but still, it's not out yet.
