  1. Hey, Valkyrie... I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THAT CD FOREVER -- IT MUST BE THE RAREST MACROSS CD!! Thanks for the post. But I believe there are a couple of other tracks on that CD, namely the acoustic (guitar-only) version of My Soul For You and also probably Remember 16 (which also featured on the Heart and Soul single). Any chance of posting at least MySoul, too?
  2. I think it did come with at least one of the books.. I remember I was pissed off because the belt with one of the books that I got read "Free Stickers inside!!", but they weren't there. Oh, well. Good books overall if you're a Macross fan, of particular interest are the interviews at the back. Great as supplements for Perfect Memory.
  3. Oh yeah. That's my old avatar. I got it from your site, Keith. Cheers!
  4. I don't think this is the first time it's been made into a live action thing. I remember reading about another live Kekkou Kamen in existence several years ago, possibly dating back to the 80s or 70s.
  5. That reminds me. I've got one of those lying around somewhere. It's one of those millions of old kits I've got stored away in huge boxes full of Macross junk. It'll be years before I get round to making it...

    VF-11B

Yeah, the VF-11B is my favourite Yamato. I haven't picked up the FP version, but I will most likely do at some point. When I got the original one, it was a couple of months after the release and I had read about some MW members having had their 11's legs just break off straight out the box. So when it finally came to getting mine out of the packaging I was very careful (remember in those days they were packed in Battroid mode) and the first thing I did was loosen the screws slightly at the back of the legs. It was a full year and a half and several hundred transformations (no exaggeration -- I treated it almost like a Bandai 1/55) later that one leg finally bagan to show cracks, and then broke off. Knowing this would eventually happen, I simply superglued it back again and that was that. Now it's sturdier than ever. However, I'm sure the other leg will go at some point, but it's got years of life left in it yet. Of course, I'll be playing around with the FP version by the time that happens. Best Yamato EVAR.
  7. Ay-ay-ay... That's what everyone always assumes, but it's just NOT true. Look hard enough and YES, there ARE Toynami valks on the shelves of stores in Tokyo. And it pisses me off. I want to know how the hell they're getting away with this.
  8. No, there was never a Movie Edition International Version release in Japan per se. However, there WAS an International Version release of the OVA series in Japan, which was basically the Manga dub with Japanese subtitles. Except none of that matters now because that was back in the LD/VHS days.

    EpicHeroes.com

Wow, I can't believe they had low-vis valks in stock... I always thought EpicHeroes were a piece of crap, hardly ever stocking any Yamato stuff. Anyway, yeah, the more 1/48s the merrier.
  10. Hehe.... Like me... I mean, when I saw how easy they were to get I just thought "huh, they ain't so limited. Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?" I even picked one up, then put it down again. On two occassions. But the other day my friend told me he was thinking of getting a valk, and which one would I recommend. I thought, the Low-Vis. But I realised then you can't get 'em anymore. Well, I can, but that's another story.... Anyway, I woted NO in this poll, but I missed out on the Max 1/55 reissue, so if I have to get one, it'll be Max Jenius version. Although I am highly pissed off at this price tag. It's just stupid, Y20,000 for a bloody toy that isn't even an antique...

    Macross Vf X

Yes, yes, I hear that all the time, too. Select ENABLE from the options screen, then start a new game, and you should be able to choose FORWARD view. I've had the game for ages and I've tried that a million times. It has never worked. I have NEVER been able to activate the FORWARD view on my game, I dunno if I just have a messed up CD. I doubt it, though... By the way, I do own the actual CD, not a copy, and I have used it on both actual Japanese Playstations and on Emulators.
  12. Yep. I saw the Locomotion version in Peru, I think it was in the space year 2000. Damn good translation, too, and no HG in sight.
  13. Heheh! That's so funny, I felt obliged to actually post something here. So, yeah, anyway, this new show... Sounds like a piece of sheet. Up to you to prove me wrong, Shoji! That's all I have to say.
  14. Where? let me get this straight.... you're asking where Yamato didn't say something? Seriously? Oooooooooooooooooooh-KAY! Well, they must have bloody said it at some point, or else how did anybody know when they were going to come out?? Usually they announce stuff before a release, yes? On the other hand, Hurin -- what? You used the example of the TRU CF in your own post a little earlier in the thread. So why is that situation unlikely to repeat itself here? You said there were complaints... where? On MW? So what? Yamato would be more worried if it actually received complaints directly from customers. But then, who would bother doing that? Nobody. Even if I was pissed off because I had paid a load of money for something I can now get dirt cheap, I wouldn't go all out of my way to express my anger at the company. On the other hand, I'd probably grab myself another. Chances are, they'll probably do a low-vis 1J. It's different enough so they can avoid any accusations of being liars.
  15. It is actually a Macross image, originally. However, beats me where to find it.
  16. According to Egan Loo, the "Minmei" spelling is mainly seen on personal items, such as the door sign. Hence it should be taken that "Minmay" is her stage name. Think "Bruce Li" and "Bruce Lee". Oh, BTW, Lebhead -- that brings back a lot of memories.... well, three.
  17. Areaseven. Dude... I've never read a bad review from you. And I don't mean.. "A review you did badly"... I mean, I've never heard you not like anything! And when something as insulting as Sailor Moon comes around and you praise it like Allah... then, I wonder... (By the way, I'm weak when it comes to pretty girls, too, so if you are biased because of that, then I may forgive you... But even so, they ARE Sailor Moon girls... That's BARELY an excuse...)
  18. Yep, that's right, Toho did the dub themselves. You can recognise the same voice actors in the dubbed Godzilla movies.
  19. I don't get it. There wouldn't be much to preach about if Macross7 had only been a manga. "A show about music, only without the music". Not much point, yes? On the other hand, I thought that the "emotion behind the music" was conveyed pretty well in Trash, but the story overall was poor. And then there was Graham's point about the lack of action.
  20. I personally think that the CG in Zero is good, but the quality of the cel animation is not. In fact, it's dismal. Many more frames and a lot more detail is required on the actual drawings. I love the background art, that compliments the CG very well, but there is a clear jarring effect as soon as the characters appear and "move about". Add in more detailed lighting and shading on the cels (a good start is the underwater scene in #3) and more natural movements for the characters, and M0 will be appear a seamless blend of CGI and hand-drawn cels. At the moment it's just a fat, ugly mess. Worst example: Episode 2, when Shin is on the Asuka looking out at the ocean and "Roy" (if that's who the hell that's supposed to be [joke]) comes in. Watching that scene gives me a headache. It's like two neon colours flashing in my brain.
  21. Why do you say these events from M7 go unnoticed in M7Dynamite? I mean the fleet was under repairs in dynamite... this obviously assumes they had some huge problem.. I didn't say the events from M7 go unnoticed, I was referring to the events in MyleneBeat. What happens in MyleneBeat, which takes place at the same time as D7, not always keeps a parallel to the events in D7 and often crosses into D7 territory. Meaning, it screws with continuity. Not only are some D7 scenes told totally differently in Beat, none of Beat's main focuses are ever touched upon in D7, even though they are of much higher consequence than what goes on in D7. Without giving too much away, think "Barton and his research into the Evil series" (Beat) vs. "Basara and his singing at whales" (D7). Oh, by thew way, for anyone who's interested, Trash is available in Italian... and possibly French, too.
  22. Dear, oh dear.... Still tracking down lyrics for songs which came out six years ago... Let me direct you to Rik Newman's webpage, the best M7 page in the world (hey, he said it himself, so it must be true). WILD LIFE= http://www.macross.co.uk/77077/lyrics-dyna...a/wild_life.txt MIZU = http://www.macross.co.uk/77077/lyrics-dyna...mizu_no_you.txt
  23. And even after he so-called work his ass off, the valkyrie is till pure white instead of the blue in certain places? He only drew the keyframes. He didn't apply the paint onto the cels themselves. Colouring errors happen very frequently.
