  1. I agree, toynami has to get it right sometime
  2. What about Gundam mastergrade kits???, They have a lot of small polycap joints (ball type)
  3. The 1st kit i did was a robotech transforming cyclone from monogram (imai) when i was like 13-14. I really got into cars. then about 2-3 years ago i started seeing quite a bit of robotech/macross/mospeada models on the shelves and i bought a 1/100 Strike VF-1S from arii, i took quite a while to complete it, but i really liked working on it. Then I started doing searches on macross items and came across MW,,,,all over from there, Just the models, All reissue VF-1 1/72 from bandai 3 Qua-Rau's 1/100 "" "" 3 Glaugs 1/100 3 VF-2SS's and getting resin downgrade parts for 1 2 Ger's 3 Legioss's 1 Blowsperior All reissue Destroids, The want list is endless not to mention I'm working on a semi custom MG Gundam Zeta Plus C1 (very cool models BTW)
  4. It means... he knows something we dont... Thats gotta suck, knowing whats going to happen and not being able to tell anyone,,,,,,,,,, kinda military
  5. I don't think I've asked before Graham. Which (of the three) VF-1A Hikaru's is getting cracked paint? I sure hope it isn't all of them.......and were any of them the prototypes? So far mine don't have any blotches or cracks (knock on wood). Yep all three have it on the inner and outer ankle circles. I've noticed that the paint on the ankle circles of the Hikaru VF-1A seems to be more gloss than on the Max or Focker. The paint is not flaking off or peeling, it's just got some very fine hairline cracks allowing the white underneath to show through. It's weird, it's sorta like the paint has stretched and split or something. Here's a pic to show what I mean, and it's not a scratch, it's definitely a crack or split in the paint. Graham looks to me like they ussed a gloss paint over a matt, i ussed to do this for effect ussing black over white and vise versa. They could also not of had enough flex agent in the paint to match the growth of the plastic material,,,or not let the plastic cure enough before painting it, mold cooling times and paint additives can all add to this problem, i hope someone makes this apparent to yamato
  6. Monster, hands down, Im talkin firepower
  7. That helmit would be cool for paint ball role playing, i wouldnt want to take a 1300 helmit through the mud though,,,, My fience sure as HELL would go for the orange sheets, she just rolls her eyes when she walks past the computor room watching the collection get bigger and bigger
  8. I allways use a oil based base coats and for detail, i run with acrilics watered down (at least for the car models I've done) I need to experiment with air brushing. I also do a lot of drybrushing with lighter colors (to get rust, wore down paint, and paint missing from the edges and corners) It kinda brings a scale to the models, also a neat trick i do is use semi gloss coats as the maximum gloss, if you get too glosy, it makes it look more model like. but on show room new models (cars, not planes or mech) i use a high gloss. I really like the drap military colors for Mech. I want to drap my "Rau" in the std green (once my air brush skills are up to par) That scheme and color looks awsome, yeah, practice on some other models to get you technics down, that things going to look friggin amazing once the details done
  9. 1/72: 0 not interested 1/60: 0 not interested 1/48: 0 (1 on the way (low vis))
  10. OH, OH, who has the recast guns and pilots, i need them and the stickers,,,, tanks, Pat
  11. When I was like 13, I had a mospeada (robotech cycone) model that transformed, i loved putting it together, i think models should be as close to the "real thing" as posible, plus those type of features in my opinion are more acurate, but opinions are like......well ya know
  12. how about a transforming one based on yamato's 1/48, thiers enough material thier so it shouldnt be that fragile
  13. Yeah baby,,,,ordered the low vis, im gonna wait for a month before those that detail is kick arse, you can imagine the fuel running from the tanks and the missles reloading, completly awsome
  14. Yeah, i think HLJ cut thier own neck, Im sure they lost business because of it They didnt really have much of a choice in the matter and EMS is well worth the money you pay for it Hybridchild It is good, but buy 5 or more larger items, and its almost a 1st class round trip for you and your spouse plus dinner.
