  1. I'm glad to hear that Alternity's alive and well, although I'm hoping to see some new molds one of these days. Personally, I think the molds for Optimus and Megatron's overstayed their welcome. If Sideswipe wasn't getting the MP treatment, I'd have love to see him and Sunstreaker as Alternity figs.
  2. Same here. The last time I read a comic was when I was seven. I've always liked my movies to have a touch of realism, although I can still appreciate action movies that don't take themselves too seriously. IMO, it would be a bad move for The Walking Dead to go down the live action RE path. Just my two cents' worth.
  3. Good points. I'd totally forgotten about the role of sub-sonic bullets. Just out of curiosity, how many shots on average can you fire before the exhaust [or whatever the residue from the gun powder is called] clogs up the suppressor, rendering it useless? I'm talking about the ones for handguns. Like I said, furthest thing from a gun expert here. But in the case of the characters in The Walking Dead, these guy mainly get their guns and ammo from guns stores, dead policemen, and the occasional national guards. None of these sources would be likely to have silencers aka sound suppressors equipped. Not so sure about homemade silencers, though. And about that Michonne character, I think she works better as a support character for the RE LAM series than The Walking Dead. Too stylized, and kind of ruins the relative realism of the latter.
  4. Yeah, that would be the most plausible scale. They already have the Alternity line for figs of that size. Speaking of which, I'm hoping they'll revive the Alternity line. They're like premium deluxe figs, and I love how they scale up with my Classics collection.
  5. Nice pre-orders. Almost makes me want to apply for the green card lottery just to be able to import some of these gorgeous figs. The 1/8 Knee Socks fig should make it through safely here, though. BTW, I totally LOL'ed at "ChiChinoe"! Nice pun, even nicer fig.
  6. Actually, I simply meant the "loose, relative" scale used in the G1 cartoon. Sideswipe and the other car-sized bots were up to about chest or shoulder height with Optimus, while Starscream was the same height as Optimus, which of course, is ridiculous in real life since SS is a jet fighter. But all that's fine with me, as long as Sideswipe in bot mode is the same size as he was depicted in the G1 cartoon, relative to Optimus and/or Starscream. I know that sometimes even the show has Sideswipe and Starscream the same size, but even a "relatively accurate" scale would be satisfactory. As long as it's not as ridiculous as MP-01 Optimus towering over MP Starscream.
  7. Yeah, all those airgun noises is pure Hollywood. In any case, the hearing of these walkers in the series seem to be sensitive enough to hear a mouse fart, so even those Hollywood-style airgun noises will attract attention.
  8. Caius was never a problem, but the three dragons were a pain in the ass. The first time through, I was sort of underleveled, having only maxed COM and RAV, and another two skills. My monster was a level 20-something chichu. I hadn't even realized the strength increases for the paradox weapons were incremental depending on the amount of fragments. Kept sticking to the less powerful weapons until I started reading some walkthroughs. Strangely, the only time I ever maxed all my characters in a FF game before reaching the end was FFX. For some reason, I just kept grinding at the Machina desert, and the next thing I knew, all my characters were maxed. Honestly, even those so-called individual breast physics couldn't get me to buy a DOA game. An effective otaku-bait, but not for casual gamers like me. There's just something about the game I don't like, and it's bad enough that even CG titties couldn't endear me to it.
  9. Sort of did the same, but with higher stats. Got my ass handed to me fighting the three dragons in the final fight, and decided to do some grinding. Figured I'd test my strength against a non-weakened Royal Ripeness, and voila, a paradox ending.
  10. I dunno about you guys, but I'm a little concerned about the scale of MP Sideswipe. The deluxe figs seem to be in perfect scale with MP-10, but I'm not sure if they'll make a masterpiece fig that small. Wouldn't mind if they did, but they'd better reduce the price to a reasonable level, maybe down to Alternity's price point.
  11. Now I'm the furthest thing from a gun expert, but silencers don't really make that much of a difference. It's major advantage is to make the shots NOT sound like a gunshot and lessen the noise somewhat, but on open ground, the sound still carries quite far. In fact, you'd still need protection for your ears even with a silencer. I got all that out of the Discovery channel, in case you wonder.
  12. Here's hoping, and I also hope they do something about the articulation on the legs.
  13. I could only dream of importing figs like these. Where I'm at, there's no telling if something like that would get held up at the customs. The only stuff I import are those that I'm certain could get past customs like mecha or mecha, and maybe mecha.
  14. Maybe he will later in the movie. IIRC, in TDK he only came to Fox asking for a different type of armor and better head movement after that scene with Scarecrow at the parking lot. Kind of off-topic, but I wonder how Hot Toys will find an excuse to re-issue yet another TDKR fig using the same costume if it does remain the same throughout the third movie. Either way, I hope they DO release a Batman fig, since I missed out on the TDK DX fig last year.
  15. Space always seems to be a problem with these things.
  16. If you're American and bought this in either the US or Japan, you've got nothing to worry about. See, certain Asian countries think it's necessary to censor what it perceives as "evil western violence and debauchery that goes against Asian values". Sometimes you get lucky and a certain movie gets past intact, but other times, it's butchered so badly, you'd have thought they were operating the censorship board at a slaughterhouse. The safest thing is to import a movie, I guess. As long as it's borderline "kosher" stuff [non-ero anime and Hollywood movies] and nothing blatantly illegal to the country [XXX or snuff flicks], it usually has no trouble getting past customs.
  17. Not much of a fan of ebay, to be honest. Besides, I'm more of a "subs guy"--I prefer the more dramatic Japanese voice acting.
  18. Yeah, that's a very popular theory among FFXIII-2 players, and I'm inclined to agree. Supposedly, even Toriyama sort of confirms it in an interview. I wonder about that, too. I mean, the more I look at it, the more it feels like FF XIII-2 was tacked on to buy some time until Versus gets released. It seems like they've painted themselves into a corner with the ending. IIRC, it's something about the chaos leaking from Valhalla after Etro twisted time space to bring Lightning, Serah and Dazh out of their crystal sleep, and in her weakened state, was unable to maintain the barrier. I could well be wrong, though. Now the thing that bothers me is that Etro's very existence goes against the mythology that was set up in FFXIII. It's been a while since I played the game, but if memory serves, some divine being created both the Fal`Cie and humans, and then left the planet. Basically, its like a pseudo Abrahamic religion, except God in this case leaves the Earth and puts angels [Fal`Cie] in charge of humanity. No mention of any other gods were made throughout FFXIII as far as I remember. Personally, I get the feeling that Etro was "borrowed" from FFXIII Versus and planted into FFXIII-2 to explain a plot hole in FFXIII, where Lightning, Dajh and Serah are returned to their human forms without any explanations. Initially I thought it was because the Fal`Cie had died, but then I realized Fang and Vanille remain as crystals. The only time I remember hearing any mention of Etro was in the FFXIII Versus trailer. You're right. But in Atlas' case, even if it doesn't require the paradox scope, you won't likely be able to take it out the first time around without weakening him since he's really powerful. Same goes for Royal Ripeness. The only paradox endings you might be able to get without the paradox scope or maxed out characters would be AF 4XX Academia with Alyssa and AF 700 New Bodhum with Lightning, since their both just a matter of picking a different answer.
  19. Wow, this belongs in its own class of awesome. The fact that you had no prior engineering skills makes this all the more impressive.
  20. I...just watched the clip. Was that...Captain Global I just saw?
  21. Nadia? Sounds familiar, although I'm pretty sure I've never watched it. Maybe I'll google the title and see what it's about.
  22. I dunno; the funny skin tone would give them away easily enough--some of them, at least, like Quamzin, Exedol and Breetai. Then again, the script writers Zentran have proven to be smart enough to only send spies with skin color that at least resembles generic human tones.
  23. Thanks! I've got an account at Ami Ami, which makes it pretty convenient.
  24. Regarding RID Arcee, it's got nothing on the FE version. The only reason I might choose to buy RID Arcee is to mod it into a robot replica by removing the back kibble, since it's got a more screen-accurate and feminine bot mode due to all the faux kibble. As for TF Prime, yeah, a good show but misses out on the fun factor that TFA has. That said, Prime doesn't bother me as much because he's an archetypical hero. It's more plausible if you just pretend that the matrix simply modifies his personality when he's "installed" with it. I mean, he WAS more wimpy and tame as Orion Pax without the knowledge of the Primes during the first two episodes of season two. What I really can't stand are Bumblebee and his R2D2 beeps, and Miko. I just don't see how having a mute robot adds anything to the plot and characterization. It makes script writing difficult, and turns Bumblebee into some sort of robotic Lassie because he can't properly emote without dialogue. I know Orci and Kurtzman are really proud of Mute BB from the movie, but it's really getting old. As for Miko, I don't think I have anything more to say about her that others haven't already said in various other forums. They should just tranq the brat for the duration of her visits to the HQ, and send her home after each episode. I can't believe after all the trouble she's caused in missions whenever she "goes with", they still let her tag along. And that's not counting the times she sneaked through the ground bridge.
  25. I can't believe I never thought of that before. Customs usually don't have a problem with movies, as long as it isn't XXX stuff or a snuff flick. Never bought any movies online, though. Got any good recommendations for online shops?
