  1. Great review Andrew! Also blast you, now I'm seriously thinking of buying one... Argh pocketbook
  2. I'd watch a video of this, even though I've seen your Kai one. Even with a small mold change the visual feel of a toy can be quite different, which is where a video helps. Even though they're so similar, I like the Blazer but not the Kai. It may be a bit irrational, but we're grown men playing with toys so rationality has already been checked a few doors back. I guess what I'm saying is there would be an audience for such a video.
  3. I want the exploding shoulders to actually explode and fire thousands of poisonous metal shards up to 30 feet away. Otherwise no sale.
  4. After having played with it a whole bunch, I've now revised my answer to the v.2 VF-25F.
  5. When I opened the armored set, I would've laughed in derision at those bracers had I not been so irritated. Almost seemed like a joke.
  6. Yeah, I like my YF-29 a lot, but I think it's a very busy valk. Adding super parts pushes it over the top.
  7. Yeah, this is some amazing engineering. Can't wait for the "D"!
  8. I tightened one of those by working some clear nail polish in between the metal pieces, let dry, work the joint, rinse / repeat. I would recommend starting with a very small amount of nail polish.
  9. Sweet! Where is this one from?
  10. For what it's worth I don't like bump either, because it makes the neck look way too small, the same way that v.1 Ozma's neck looks. I'm sure someone's going to passive-aggressive forum-snipe all over my comment for some reason so I'll also add that it's still no big deal. It's a toy.
  11. copypasta from couple pages ago: "If it's the shoulder ball joint that is loose, look under I what would be the 'armpit' of the valk. Remove that black screw, being careful not to strip it. The two halves of the mid-shoulder piece should come right off. Apply nail polish into the exposed ball socket, and voila tight arms. I just did this yesterday, easy peasy, "
  12. So... is the VF-25G's head the same as the cannon fodder (I assume VF-25A) head?
  13. Yeah, me neither, mine is okay all around. Except the aforementioned loose ball shoulder but I fixed that in a minute.
  14. Woooow. Really wish I could afford this :-(

  16. Probably YF-19 Double Nuts. The more I watch Mac Plus, the more I notice the weakness of the toy compared to how it looks on screen. Although I've been impressed with its build quality, so that's something. Especially after all the horror stories of the v.1 YF-19.
  17. Macross Frontier is my favorite Macross series. I liked the way the v1 looked. I like the way v2 looks even better. I don't regret the v1 purchase, I had fun with it. Except the armor parts, I actually got angry with the way that stuff (doesn't) fit together.
  18. YF-21. Actually prefer VF-22 as animation design but on the toy the non-integrated gunpods bother me quite a bit, so YF-21.
  19. Just transformed it last night after leaving it for, oh, about a month? Seems solid enough.
  20. This isn't any kind of scientific observation, but the plastic between my 25 and 29 feels different to me too.
  21. I enjoyed the v.1's. I mean they're toys, they always lose a bit of their appeal after a while, no matter how great they are. Anyway I particularly like the change to the position of the wing joint... EDIT: Or rather, the fact that the backplate is up slightly as it's supposed to be, according to the CGI.
  22. I've only had the shoulder armor pop off a couple times and it pops right back on. The transformation is pretty easy and fun for me, so to each their own. I agree with the Armored Ozma v.1 however. I never want to touch that again.
  23. Integrated gun attachment, articulated hands, crotch thrust, gerwalk joints: solved Loose joints: still potentially a problem Minimal wing bend: don't care That's where I stand on it I guess. Honestly the lower fins sticking out the back of the battroid mode bothers me more than the wing thing. But neither very much.
  24. The first YF-19 had some issues, but the Double Nuts and Bird of Prey are pretty solid toys. But yeah, they all have the "gullet," so if that bothers you just wait for the impending VF-19 releases. They will make at least the VF-19P and VF-19S.
