  1. Oh absolutely, I wasn’t implying a robust delaying force wouldn’t be critical.
  2. Okay? So 2500 ships supposedly match your lower bound limit of main fleet ships of N00,000 Zent ships. There’s a whole huge range between that and N,000,000, for which I would think evacuation would be the best option. Unless they get lucky with some kind of protoculture shock again.
  3. I feel like even 2500 ships of various sizes wouldn’t stand up to a Zentraedi main fleet. I wonder what types of mass evacuation strategies they have created for the population of Earth itself to survive, other than the existential colony fleet plan.
  4. That makes me hopeful for the -19F/S!
  5. Yeah. I would just as soon assume they had some kind of other plan to fold out, as just using STL “flight performance” and stealth to escape from the situations outlined above where a fold-in was necessary is, quite frankly, absurd in most cases.
  6. So, in footage most fighter sized fold boosters are depicted single use (fold, then eject). I think it’s been mentioned in other media that some of the most advanced fighters (gen 4+) should be able to fold in, decapitate enemy with missile strike, then fold out. How are they supposed to fold back out? Are those boosters *not* single use, but they’re just ejected due to circumstantial inconvenience?
  7. This looks. So. Good. Incredible talent! I wish someone would release the TV version. I prefer it to the DYRL (just more of an emotional connection).
  8. Your interpretation of plot elements is different than mine.
  9. Lol, Gundam was and is a super robot franchise with a coat of real robot paint, except for a couple notable exceptions. It just spends a lot of effort trying to explain away its super-ness.
  10. This would be a pretty limited scenario, presumably only against rebel colonists or other protoculture sub-races (which all seem to be fairly primitive). I don't think action against Zentradi or Supervision Army forces would need any deniability.
  11. Lol you were actually correct, my friend. Three feet square is right. The other guy read it incorrectly.
  12. Lol yeah. My distaste for the Basara outweighs how well made it is. The Excalibur on the other hand…
  13. Ohhhh it definitely seems like it!
  14. I’m curious to see how they’ll do the VF-19F/S. There are two pretty different wing line art shapes. Yamato leaned into one version; will Bandai do the same shape, or the more delta shape? (I’m fine with either, just curious)
  15. Hmm, it looks… fine? With a couple trade-offs, if anything it’s a testament to how well Yamato did 14 years ago.
  16. Looks like you’re right about the see through gap from the side.
  17. A million people is orders of magnitude above what you would need to minimize recessive disorders. I suspect the hereditary diseases have more to do with the cloning itself than limited numbers, although they do tend to complicate other without some management.
  18. I hate this
  19. Sometimes it's *quite* different, but I don't want to do this dance again, so you win.
  20. Ah hah, my bad. Please lock/ delete.
  21. A company called Unix Square is making Robotech-licensed (I think?) VF-1's with some very very odd proportions and creative liberties. https://www.facebook.com/unixsquare http://www.unixsquare.com/ Just FYI. I don't think it's my cup of tea.
  22. Zentradi. We know there are millions of fleets out there. Do they keep producing more until they’ve stripped local resources and move on, i.e. ecophagy, or do they have some sort of built-in equilibrium algorithm?
  23. You're probably overthinking what in-universe corporate marketing types would name a commercial ship.
  24. When they say “marines” in Macross, are they meaning strictly seaborne troops, delivered by the UN Navy? Or are they including spaceborne forces? If meaning the former, why would they even still exist?
  25. YF-21 notwithstanding. That one’s pretty blatant for the legs obviously not fitting in the fuselage in his sketches, but for some reason he wasn’t too concerned about it. I guess we could chalk it up to squishy skin.
