I believe he is using his "prototype" Z-Soldier in these pics, which I was lucky to have been able to add to my collection years ago...

I really like the clean look of your T-Rex Zentran figs....they look "store bought"... I also bought a set of DarrinG's Z-Pilots and the M-Pilot....very nice customs.... I think DarrinG "retired" from Macross collecting years ago....but glad he made these figures available....it's a shame we still have not received any mass-produced enemy soldiers after all these years.....

Thanks! I thought about it for a while but finally opted for the PF version myself..... Thanks for the idea! I wanted to add Hikaru into the pic eventually, so just went ahead and did it when I added the additional VF-4's! Here was the shot before I superimposed Hikaru onto it....

Not trying to defend it, but in all fairness, I think that it is just one more than we see "Takatoku Toys" on the original Takatoku Toys release......the worst thing about it is still the "toy" inside the box....and the price they are, essentially, trying to get you to pay for a "retro" box!

Yes, but why? Why is he so cruel? Did his childhood puppy not like him? Was there some horrific trauma associated with mice? These are the questions that must be answered in order for us to understand him and thus be more sympathetic to his life's pain.....c'mon, Disney! Make it so!

Thanks! In doing these mashups using animation stills and the actual toys....I'm getting a good sense of all the "anime magic" that exists in all of the original source material....in the pic above, the VF-4 is portrayed as much "longer and sleeker"....so to try and capture the scene with the actual toys takes a lot of "tweaking" and some additional "photo" magic....

Ok...the new pic is much clearer and makes the overall pic look much better IMO.... ....I'm not going to argue or defend the merits of the sculpt.....as Kyle Reese said of the Terminator......

I agree the faces are not the best, but I am mostly satisfied with them......I think Misa is probably the worst of them so far

Someone could probably make some extra spending cash for themselves by producing "retro" boxes for the HMR figs.....only with the original art, etc....

Thanks! These toys have really come a long way from the 1/55 days.....it is very easy to recreate iconic scenes from the shows due to the high articulation and superior sculpts from the modern toys....thanks for participating and keep having fun! -
Agreed.....but just using what is available....unless you can point me to better 1/12 scale Misa and Hikaru figures to recreate my shot???

I wonder if the original illustrator used for the original retro combo sets, the Super VF-1S and GBP, was retained for these retro single packs. The art isn't as good as that used on the combo sets.

Better late than never! As with the SDFM edition....superimpose your shots with real backgrounds, classic or modern illustrations or cel backgrounds from the actual film!.... The rules....use toys or kits to capture either a specific scene from the DYRL source material or a "re-imagined" version of a scene, then add a background consistent with the scene you are trying to illustrate....have fun! Feel free to also create and add Flashback 2012 scenes! What we have so far...... HMR ElintSeeker + Tenjin Hasegawa Boxart for the ElintSeeker.....
