  1. I would say most likely that upper thigh will slide back into the larger, lower calf, which would put it's placement roughly along the center of the fuselage and it's just a matter of rotating everything so the panel that folds down to form the crotch is created. I'm willing to bet the back of that calf is going to be VERY open, but that would allow some great poses as an offset. In terms of where the intake goes... remove-able maybe, unless Yamato has come up with a clever enough solution that it rotates underneath as you fold the upper thigh out of the calf. Word of warning, you see how thick that upper thigh is? The Fuselage is going to have to be thick enough to obscure that whole thing. From head on it's not going to be paper thin like a lot of the drawings/models have made it out to be. That center portion is going to be thick.
  2. Hmm, I have a fear about these stupid swappable wings when the armor parts arrive. They're already kind of spotty in terms of alignment/sturdiness as is. With the addition of missile weight on the wings I'm concerned they're going to perpetually droop, if not outright fall off. This is another one of those peculiar Bandai engineering decisions where they get everything perfect and then find a single way to completely f**k it up.
  3. There's a lot of demand for a group buy. Has anybody taken the mantle yet?
  4. Those stickers are looking very good on your 17. I've been having problems with the sticker portion "showing" too much. I thought they were waterslides at first as well. Have you done any stickering on the underside (mostly for Fighter mode) as well?
  5. Is this your 17 stickered up semi-real world style? Can you take more pics in all three modes? I've been considering doing this but wasn't sure how it would look.
  6. Based on all of the images we've seen so far the majority of the diecast, especially in Battroid, is right in the center of the toy. I think it will be more stable then we realize. Since the VF-19 Yamato has gotten a lot better about making their toys more stable/balanced. Gerwalk looks a lot better then I ever thought it did in the few scetches/video games it's been in. I can't believe how having these things in person can make such a difference. I REALLY love the way the 171 comes off in Gerwalk when I never once thought it looked good in the animation. Same with the 17.
  7. It does sound like you just got really unlucky (crosses fingers about my own 19S.) Though to be accurate someone has had that metal bar on their 17S break too so.... that's not necessarily a measure of safety.
  8. My first impression when taking mine out of the box was, "I hate this f**king wing pin." It makes the wings too loose. Such a stupid idea/implementation Bandai. Also, whoever factory worker packaged my item didn't quite transform it correct. The chest was only halfway pushed down and collapsing it all the way made one of the wings difficult to set properly in fighter. I hope I'm not in for a surprise when I transform it.
  9. Using the contrast to show off? How does it blend with the C or will it still require a bit of painting to match the whites? Also... cost???
  10. Based on those Gamu review pics I would advise Yamato to take note because your ankles are shitty compared to these Bandai releases.
  11. Hey MacrossJunkie how often did you transform your 19 before it broke?
  12. I still haven't got a response from ishop2go yet. I don't know if that's a good sign or bad.
  13. I expect i will be receiving a negative from ishop2go about my original pre-order with them but I still e-mailed them to find out if that order is still valid/good or not.
  14. I still don't see how my package could make it to my house by tomorrow when it was only just scanned in Tokyo the other day. Fed Ex still claims it's coming the 3rd.
  15. Interesting, this should be a lot of fun to check out for myself when it arrives (hopefully) tomorrow. It's too bad Yammie's 17 doesn't sound like it locks as well as the 171, I was never terribly happy with how the backpack holds in either mode. Whether it's tight or loose I don't really like that hip system on the 17 so the fact the 171 has a similar solution is a bummer too. I guess Bandai had to make something frigidty/annoying on this one too. Wing pins are dumb. I'm worried if the armor parts aren't tooled quite right we're going to end up with floppy messes when we switch out our wings now.
  16. Hey Graham, how does the hip mechanism compare to the VF-17 versions? Also, how does the backpack attach/hold versus the 17 in Battroid? Is the backpack solid in Gerwalk compared to the 17 too?
  17. Hey man I'm just checking. I saw a few others were getting shipments and I haven't ordered from these guys before.
  18. So how many people who bought at Nippon Yasan have seen orders go out yet? I'm still waiting in processing and am wondering if I should fire off an e-mail or I'm just being impatient.
  19. When do we start the group buy for the 171 parts?
  20. To be honest, in animation the 17S head looks bad but on the toy the "Frankenstein" head actually looks really bad-ass.
  21. If the hands do have to come off, and I completely understand why, it's too bad there isn't someplace they can be stored on the fighter so the people who do transform it often can just flip that place open and pull them out for convenience sake. I'd like a little place to store the covers on my VF-17 personally.
  22. Your best bet is to use an extra gun pod from a VF-1 I'd imagine.
  23. That is not a C. Besides, I've already had to blow $500+ on travel expenses for my Grandma's funeral. Even at that price I can't justify the extra spending.
  24. Holy crap, that's cheap! And it comes at the worst time when I have to spend at least $500 for other things.
