  1. Hmm, so I was skimming through the Bluray; I noticed in certain scenes it seemed as though the voices came out choppy and jerky for both TrueHD and regular 5.1. Noticeably, when Rachel talks to Harvey on the way out of the court hearing in the beginning of the movie, and when Lucius talks to Bruce after the conversation with the analyst/consultant regarding dealing with Lau. I checked with the DVD (rip) and noticed the same problem - anyone notice this? The other language audio tracks turned out fine though.
  2. Speaking of magazine spreads, when are the next issues of Dengeki and HJ due?
  3. ....??? What the hell happened? Geez the earlier prototype was looking very promising and suddenly it turns to this clunky ugly beast. Very sad day it is.
  4. In the meantime let us ogle at the many photos: http://gamu-toys.info/sonota/kaiyo/revoltech/059/059.html http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/galle..._Laevatein.html http://taste.style.coocan.jp/hobby080810.htm http://srblood.blog89.fc2.com/blog-entry-463.html It's tempting to get two of them just so you have a duplicate of guns.
  5. Some Beagle photos at amiami: http://www.amiami.com/shop/ProductInfo/product_id/103584 Dunno if it's been posted yet, but looking pretty good in those action poses. Interesting but weird stand, though.
  6. That's what I'd like to find out, actually. The only thing I know is what Rainbow Ten told me; it could be nonsense. I've also just went ahead and ordered mine from HLJ after that; hasn't shipped so it'll be another 3 weeks before I get my hands on it. Looks like we'll have to rely on you to tell us what's really going on with the figure itself. But so far I've not seen anything wrong with it and on top of that, the joints all seem to be Revoltech ones. If those are the problems, we should be able to get replacement joints? Hmmm.
  7. Well, the ARX-8 - it was a direct reply to the post about it on HLJ, lol.
  8. Hmm, that's interesting. I actually ordered mine from Rainbowten last Friday but they sold out. When I asked them about that, I was told that 1/3 of the supplies in the market has been recalled due to faulty products. Anyone have more info on this?
  9. Funny that Depp was mentioned as possible replacement; I had the exact same thoughts after the movie, lol. For some reason Ledger's Joker reminded me of Jack Sparrow quite a bit.
  10. On a second viewing at IMAX, I found the soundtrack to be rather annoying. I couldn't hear the dialogue with the music blasting everywhere; it was fine at the theaters though. It didn't feel as awesome as it did on the first viewing, but we all know why that would be the case. Interestingly; the humungous IMAX screen even deterred what I felt would be a good viewing experience. It was just... too big. LOL. While we're on the topic of Iron Man; it certainly did feel more solid and easier to watch. Probably also due to the fact that there weren't so many things slapped together. Dark Knight certainly suffered from irregular pacing - on top of that, a few things could have been given more focus. Bruce wasn't given enough time to emote or come to a renewed and hardened resolution with the outcome he was thrown with, nor did he even show enough angst about it at all. Oh well; slight pity on that. Would be neat if we get a director's cut later on or something to address that.
  11. That was an intense flick. Get ready for a lot of WTF's, some which you will see coming. It felt a bit like watching The Departed and Die Hard at the same time. Batman's armour gadgets are both neat and ridiculous. I'm not gonna bother going on about the Joker since everyone's heard their fair share by now. The really cool thing about the show is its explorations of human nature - utilitarianism is featured a lot; something shared in Batman Begins but more potent here. My only gripe with the movie is the long winded moral speech at the end but otherwise you're looking at one hell of a ride. Another other interesting thing; quite a bit of cool homages to the graphic novels. One of the shots reminded me specifically of the Long Halloween. In fact, a big part of it felt like a Long Halloween which was a very nifty touch to it.
  12. Wow, wasn't expecting that to happen in Dark Knight yet, unless that's the end of it. Can't wait! One more week left! But I have to fight the pope to get to IMAX since they'll be closing off roads for 'World Youth Day'. Still baffles me why it's called that.
  13. Hmm, I kinda agree there. The SAC series made the character interactions somewhat more believable. The Major joked around quite a bit although she does it with a straight face; in a way that showed that she has a good sense of humour while still being focused. I guess with SAC the character interactions tend to be a little subtle in nature as they focus on the bigger plot. Great, now I feel like going on another SAC marathon, haha.
  14. Hmm, I didn't post a pic, so I'm not sure what you're referring to, lol. Regardless, I don't have the Fewture Gokin either. =/ But at least I can take some comparison shots. Here it is next to the Yamato 1/60 YF-19 and Binaltech Meister. I wouldn't call it small, though.
  15. The Goodsmile Tachikoma popped in the mail yesterday. The holes on the camera eyes could've been slightly bigger; and the one on the rear doesn't seem to move, but I haven't tried twisting it sideways so we'll see. One thing you will immediately notice when you take it out of the box: it's HEAVY. The main body has a chunk load of diecast, the limbs are diecast, too. Joints are plastic, though. You can hurt someone if you hurl the body at them if you wanted to, haha. Ratchet joints almost everywhere and where they aren't, are tight, but sometimes not tight enough to hold in particular positions due to the weight of the body. Now, I can't compare the tightness of the joints with the Perfect Piece since I don't have that (fortunately or unfortunately). By the way, from what I can see of Perfect Piece pics, the Gokin instead has double jointed legs, and the connection to the main body has another joint. Lots of joints - sometimes works to a detriment for the toy. Cockpit opens up to fit Motoko inside of course, BUT, the small top hatch does not open; it's sculpted as a whole piece of the larger part. Bummer =/. It would've been more useful here than the Perfect Piece since Motoko is poseable! The Perfect Piece comes with a bunch of extra stuff, and the oil compartment even opens up. The Gokin doesn't have all of that, but it has parts to swap it into the worker Tachikoma (see end of SAC1). It also has the railgun part for its 'mouth'. It also comes with swappable feet - one set with retracted wheels, one with them deployed. Wheels spin on both sets and the legs diecast as well. As for Motoko, despite her size, she is pretty damn poseable - not to mention her face is pretty well sculpted, too. And because of her size, her joints can support the whole body. Double ball-jointed shoulders, ball jointed wrists, ball and swivel jointed feet, ball jointed hips, ball jointed waist, swivelling thighs and arms. Oh, and single ball jointed head at the neck to body, instead of neck to head. Still works pretty well. She comes with a pair of open hands only, and both the rifle and handgun with hands sculpted on. Proportion-wise, pretty good but I find the thighs a tad bit chunky (unless Motoko really does have fat thighs, haha). All-in-all pretty good, but the price warrants more extra items and gimmicks packaged in.
  16. Yah, Lady Rose Coral (also seen here: http://gamu-toys.info/sonota/sonota/lady/lady.html). Looks like an original thing by Basil no Zougenkon (sp?): http://basil0619.hp.infoseek.co.jp/ Pretty stuff indeedly.
  17. Wowie that looks friggin win. The Movie Realisation one came out too weird though with its strange proportions, especially the neck and upper body. Shame =/.
  18. Had my YF-21 for a week or so now. So, I decided to put on the fast packs. One of the skirt armour's pack already had its stub snapped pre-packaged. I didn't find the missing piece in the box, soo... yeah. If that can happen, I'd suggest caution when putting it on and taking it off, too. The YF-21 was pretty hard to remove from the box too, and I must've been a bit groggy that night or something as well. Anyway, removing it didn't go too well and the left wing's joint kinda broke. Managed to glue it back but now it's floppy and won't stay upright in fighter mode. Yep. Another thing; make sure you put the legs back in the right way if you remove them from the hip joints. Pulling them out again can be quite a pain; and if you didn't know it's the wrong way in, and then decide to twist the thing for fighter mode... well, the result won't be pretty. I found that out the hard way. (You get stress marks because the protruding part of the hip joint grinds the front of the leg) One other gripe is the loose ball joint on one of the skirt armours. The rubber thingie that holds it in place seems to be sticking out quite a bit compared to the other leg's. Hmm.
  19. Hmm, I personally was annoyed that the BGM during Alto's chase scene in ep 2 wasn't on the disc (unless I missed it). Not entirely happy with the OST, but oh well.
  20. Hawt news for Hot Toys fig, but it'd probably cost quite a bit as to be expected. =/ I wonder what the chances are for a Movie Realisation Iron Man; they did Spider-man after all. Then again that was because where was Supaidaman so chances are probably slimmer for IM. Hasbro's IM figures were a little disappointing. No interchangeable hands; weird right hand sculpt with that semi-pointing pose. Really weird hip joints. Feet should've either been ball jointed or at least double jointed. Oh well. I had to split the wrist joints a bit with a hobby knife so it could swivel, too. Damn dried paint pretty much glued that joint tight; forcing it only made stress marks. At least it looks pretty good on Marvel Legends Modern Armor Iron Man's stand.
  21. Considering that the photos from Tokyo International Anime Fair '08 etc. seem to show the 1/60s to be DX Chogokin sounds pretty good. Previous entries of that line (Aquarion and Gaiking) turned out fairly well; hopefully this does too. Mikhail's VF-25 w/ sniper rifle would be an awesome entry to the line. Mmm. BTW, are we expecting more concrete news of the toys around June-ish/Summer? Can't wait!
  22. Hmm, it looks like it's from Yamato. Wonder how that will fair when it comes out, lol. Looks a little weird though.
  23. Hmm, while we're on the topic, I was wondering if the English version comes in thin issues or a full volume/tankoubon (or both?). I remember seeing the former format but not full volumes.
  24. Hmm, well, if you just order one, it'll be around 580 yen for shipping via SAL. I ordered two before for 880 yen shipping via SAL, as well. Quite frankly $40 a pop is too steep to pay, that's almost equivalent to a price of two. =/ Those guys are making good money.
  25. If you search on youtube you can still find some still available; gah, terrible camera view, but damn that looks awesome. :D
