  1. I have to say that I really don't like the "wood base"-style border on the base. I don't need "space age" stuff there, neither, just a clean edge would have been fine. But this one doesn't work for me. Are there others thinking the same? -i-
  2. Call me a heretic, but these SHE kits don't do anything for me. I love the Rettpu VF-4, you don't see that kit too often. -i-
  3. Yes, the VF-4 is such a beautiful bird. Extra kudos to Valkyrie for the recast and TSP for fixing the canopy. Now it only needs the decals I ordered from Anasazi. And a base... -i-
  4. Here's the same kit (in progress) with my preferred method of impaling: I use a 1 mm steel wire, it can actually carry a lot of weight, and it doesn't draw away too much attention from the kit like a plexiglass tube or the ubiquitous brass rod. -i-
  5. I just thought this link belongs in this thread: http://www.omooletoys.com/yukikaze_series/banshe4.html -i-
  6. YESSS! Crusher Joe deserves more love. I am wrestling with a Fighter One model as a NURBS training project, and Harpy and Siren will be next. -i-
  7. I'd support a thin 5" flying base, no fancy bevel, please. Like Mechmaster said, a "greebly" base might be too specific, on the other hand I'd like to see your ideas. -i-
  8. How do we go on with this project? I could provide William with a .DWG file for the the Macross Kite. We should define a size and then maybe open a preorder thread. -i-
  9. Wow, there's very interesting stuff in there! Rob, if there's any way to order them, I'd be in, too. Too bad the pics are so small. And I don't see the price tags... -i-
  10. Oh sorry, I tend to forget that there also exists a "western" version of the game... Anyway, only Rena, Dision and Cynthia have custom paint schemes, if I remeber that correctly. You can unlock their planes by completing each mission with "A" rating on the hard level, I think. Rena: blue Flanker (UPEO paint scheme) Dision: black F-15 and Raptor Cynthia: white/orange with blue trim Delphinus 2 + 3 and Remora (the pointed high altitude plane that moves like a whale) And you should try to get your hands on the J version. -i-
  11. I finally had the time and the right weather to take a good photograph of my Delphinus 3 and set up this CG illustration. For those who missed the info in the in progress thread, this is one of Neucom's "Radical Design" fighters from the "Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere" PSX game. Back in 2000, Hasegawa produced two excellent resin kits from the game, the Delphinus 1 + Delphinus 3. I painted this one in Cynthia's custom colors, hence the "C" designation. It appears in the later part of the game. -i-
  12. The Game was produced by two guys from the neighbourhood, and I contributed some mechanical designs. It took them a long time to find a distributor, but now it's out: http://www.shockwave.com/sw/content/animenace You can find a collection of my design work here: http://www.romansland.de/gamedesign/animenace/ -i-
  13. So what sizes would be reasonable? I think that a CD-size base can hold a 1/72 fighter kit pinned on a rod. A standing battroid may need a larger base.
  14. With the help of my old Imai kit, I worked out this proposal for a SDF-1 base.
  15. Here's a proposal for the "kite" base. Should it be even more puristic and loose the ornaments on the side, or does it need more detail there? -i-
  16. The Delphinus is from Namco's "Ace Combat 3" PSX Game. The old website is still here: http://namco-ch.net/acecombat3/index.php don't miss this http://namco-ch.net/acecombat3/wallpaper/index.html Now on to the Delphinus 1... -i-
  17. While we're at it, I'd like to introduce my recently finished Delphinus 3C
  18. Wasn't the F-15 a General Resource plane? Anyway, feel free to paint it as you like. Looks cool. -i-
  19. honneamise, excellent work on the Toybox. I' still tempted to buy a FAND from Platz. Here's a pic of a scratchbuild Rex. I have no information where it's from. If someone wants to build a large scale Rex, I recommend the Metal Gear Solid Artbook, it has tons of detail drawings. The CG version seems to be a little off the original's proportions. -i-
  20. Hey, that's my table cloth... Good work, now can someone do the fill-ins? like this
  21. Cool kit, but you score some points on the Lazymeter for not sanding the seamlines on the legs...
  22. Aaah, the memories... I believe I built the green one from the Megaro-Zamac line prior to anything Macross, since it showed up here in Germany a few days earllier. I live near the Dutch border, and over there in Venlo there was a three-store toy shop which had a full shelf of japanese robot kits which instantly blew my head off... not sure if I got it back together since then... First contact: VF-1 J Gerwalk Destroid Tomahawk -i-
  23. actually, I will make it a R-103 C (just by painting it accordingly) did you know that Hasegawa made them? -i-
