cool, congratulations - I am thinking about getting a vita TV for scramble, as it apparently works properly on the big screen. Scramble is probably the only game I want to play on Vita, maybe uncharted too, but I've been told Golden Abyss pretty much sucks and does nothing to Nathan Drakes story. I don't want to purchase a console to play only one game on it (again).

Heh, I actually just bought a Vita TV so I can play Macross Delta Scramble on a large TV. I haven't set it up yet though. 😅

I'm the same, Macross Delta Scramble is pretty much the only game I want to play on Vita. Actually over the decades most of my consoles were bought specifically to play Macross games. Of course I bought and played other games.

I just got my old PS3 set up and it still works after so many years. The only issue was the battery in the controller has died, so I've got a replacement battery on order.  Been having fun the last few days playing the Macross Last Frontier PS3 game.

  2. Was able to jailbreak my Vita last night. Actually, it's pretty easy to follow all the steps on the various videos on YouTube.

So, I've now got the DLC I downloaded installed.

Having a real blast replaying this game again after many years.

I have not had the yellowing issue with my NEXX release of the Hi-Metal R.  Here is hoping that Bandai is reissuing this to pave the way for a DX toy.

Yeah, it's my Silvie VF-2SS that have the mild yellowing.

I think my Nexx is still fine. Need to dig him out from the back of the cabinet to check.

  4. The second hand PS Vita 2000 I ordered was just delivered to my office.

Just finished resetting it and getting it logged into my Japanese PSN account. Surprisingly Vita content is still available on the Japanese PSN store. However, the digital version of the Delta Scramble game while shown in the Japanese PSN store is listed as not available for purchase. Couldn't find the Delta DLC.

I don't have the Macross Delta Scramble game cartridge with me now, it's at home, so will get it set up when I get home tonight and then let's see if at least the free DLC is still available once I have the game loaded in the Vita.

If not, then I need to start learning about how the get the .PKG Macross Delta DLC I downloaded from a third party site installed on the Vita.

  5. In the recent Scorched Earth YouTube video comparing the Yamato and Bandai toy's YF-21 FAST Packs, he mentions that the tail fin packs are micro missile launchers.

But I'd always assumed and also thought I'd read somewhere that the YF-21's tail fin packs were propellant tanks.

Thoughts on what the tail fin packs actually are?

We know there are micro missile launchers built into the belly plate packs.

I have a conclusion on why the subtitles are playing out of sync for of the Macross series including Plus and Frontier.

The artificially added fade to black  between some scenes for supposedly commercials creates a split second delay. That gap in time that is not suppose to be there creates a lag in timing and the subtitle will be earlier than the dialogue.

The lag in time between the subtitles and dialogue get progressively worse with each additional fade to black commercial break,  towards the latter half of an episode after 2 or more fade to black pauses, the gaps in timing are very noticeable which is why people are noticing them towards the middle or end of an episode not at the beginning.

If the episode had only one or no breaks, it's barely noticeable. but more than one fade out will most likely create a jarring experience which is why some may notice it more on certain episodes.

    Examples:

Frontier ep.2 at the 4:29 sec mark to see the lag in subtitles.

Macross plus OVA has several fade to black pauses each episode.

I believe those fade to black pauses were edited in artificially after the subtitles were already timed with the dialogue without the breaks.

Sounds plausible, as I've not noticed any fade to black pauses on D+ here so not encountered any subtitle lag.

  7. I wonder why you guys in the US are having these subtitle problems?

Since we got the various Macross shows on D+ here back in September 2024, I haven't noticed any issues at all with the subtitles.

But I usually watch at home by casting from the D+ app on my phone or tablet to my smart TV. Or just watch directly on my phone on the D+ app when I'm commuting.

But I guess it's a bit different here, as there is no Star or Hulu here in Hong Kong, all content is just under D+.

I think the playstation store for vita was shut down, so no - unless you download the DLC from somewhere and CFW/HEN your vita, you'll be out of luck.

I've actually got the Macross Delta Scramble ROM and all DLC downloaded on my Android phone, as I was hoping to be able to play it on my phone using the Vita3K emulator.

However, Vita emulation is still in its early days and and the game crashes after the game's loaded when I try to go into Hanger or Missions from the game menu. That's kinda what I expected though as Macross Delta Scramble is one of the games listed as currently having a low compatibility with Vita3K. Hopefully Macross Delta Scramble may run better with future versions of Vita3K.

Anyway, once the PS Vita 2000 I ordered arrives, I'll look into trying CFW/HEN. Just been doing some light reading on it now.
