Hey all. Just dug these out of the closet. Gave them a wash. Just come classic Macross shirts. ^_^

At my age (nearly 54), I kinda feel embarrassed to wear most anime related clothing, especially the jackets posted in this thread,

However, I would wear both these T-shirts.

  2. So, what is next on everybody's DX VF-1 wish list, after the release of the Hikaru VF-1S with clear Strike/Super Parts?

    For me, I really want:

    • VF-1A TV Cannon Fodder
    • VT-1
    • VE-1
    • VF-1A Hikaru DYRL
    • VF-1A Max DYRL
    • VF-1S Max DYRL

  3. Started putting my HG YF-29 kit together at the weekend. Just doing a simple build, no paint, no panel lining, just snap it together and slap the stickers on.

Got the battroid mode head, torso, groin arms and legs built so far.

It's actually a fun little kit to build and although the YF-29 is actually one of my least favorite Valk designs, I've gotta say the kit actually looks pretty good so far.

Very nice.  I'm currently at 21 CF VF-1s.

I only have one HMR CF VF-1A that I picked up last week. 😅

I love that it comes with the DYRL green flight suit pilot

Do we know if the Japan limited edition will have an English language option?

It's unknown at this stage, but my guess is going to be no.

But being a scrolling shoot-em-up game, I doubt the game will have complicated controls or menu system, so likely the Japanese version will not be difficult to figure out.

But personally, I planning to buy both the Japanese version and the international release.

  6. Gonna get one. As my old one yellowed, so I threw it out.

But I really hope they have improved the removeable wing peg and the black triangles.

Overall, I remember being incredibly excited for the VF-171 toys when they were first announced, and then being extremely frustrated with all the issues that the toys had once they were released.

And yes, we need a reissue of the Ozma VF-25S and Armored Pack.

I kinda think now, that international DYRL fans are the most screwed from BW-HG deal.

BW can't bring TV VF-1s outside Japan, but at least on HG side there are other quality brands now like Threezero covering that. But movie VF-1 schemes are still very much in international purgatory and limited to JP only.

From all the photos I've seen so far of the Threezero VF-1J, the large chest vents and weird head sculpt just don't do it for me, so I don't think I'm going to be picking one up.

Happy enough at the moment with the Bandai DX and HMR for my VF-1 needs.

I even got rid of most of my old Yamato 1/48 and 1/60 v2 in the last few years as most of the ones with white plastic had yellowed to some degree.

it is wild to me we got an angel birds and not the VT-1 or VE-1, as far as fan favorite obscure valk's go. Its also just wild to me that

VF-1D is the only one with the Battroid Egress Seat?
The TV and Movie variants only come with 2 TV style fixed pose hands ( while the VF-1D comes with all of them? )
The display stand is still the really disappointing hexagon but first releases had really nice display stands that could bank! ( And older DX toys had more specific display stands )
No missiles with the missile set having been a one time exclusive, it is baffling they didn't include respective missiles for TV and Movie sets
Non-regular releases, i know Chogokin is the high end line that sees limited releases but still.... maybe with the whole big west and HG deal we'll see more?
The weird issue with Super part configuration in fighter mode not having proper connections.
And lastly, for some, no white landing gears ( im not bothered by it but it would be nice to )

Otherwise its a solid toy, and i think it'd be perfect if they at least included a few more things!

My Bandai DX VF-1J with GBP-1S Armor set also includes the Battroid egress seat.

Doing a wash in the cockpit and I think Bandai forgot to glue this part down 🤔

It's common with the DX line. 2 out of my 5 DX VF-1 toys came with loose cockpit instrument panels.

Mine arrives tomorrow, if I should happen to have that issue I'll let you know.

Is that the lighting from your camera or does your 0D have two shades or blue?

Just the lighting from my phone camera's flash.

  11. I know I'm very late to the game, but after a 6 year hiatus from all things Macross, I finally decided to get myself some Bandai DX VF-1 this in the past month. 😅

    Got VF-1S Hikaru + Strike Parts + missile set, VF-1D, VF-1A Kakizaki and VF-1J Hikaru + GBP-1S Armor.

Really nice toys. My only complaint is the way the arms and legs peg into the toy in fighter mode is not really secure enough with the Super/Strike Parts installed.

  12. On both my HMR VF-0D the wings cannot peg in all the way into the legs in fighter mode.  The pegs only go about halfway into the leg slots. I think the pegs or tabs (whatever you want to call them) are slightly oversize.

I may need to try carefully filling down the peg/tabs on the wings.
