  1. No. Would love to, but it hasn't opened here in HK yet. Graham
  2. Only a couple. Obi Wan and Plo Koon. My son likes Clone Troopers much more than Jedi, as do I. We'll probably pick up Anakin at some time, but no hurry. We also have Darth "I can kill you with a tray" Vader.....LOL! Graham
  3. Had a big Clone Wars battle with my 6 year old son this morning. Great fun. Clones vs Droids. The clones won of course, but it was close, as the sneaky Death Watch leader joined sides with the Droids. I think the Droids need a tank to make it more even, but the trouble is getting my wife to agree. She already thinks I have my son has too many Star Wars toys! LOL! Graham
  4. I like the 1st and 2nd schemes, they remind my of the M7 Emerald Force VF-19F and VF-19S respectively. Graham
  5. Agree, I'm a big fan of Seagal's early films, before he got all environmental and fat. Graham
  6. For me, I enjoy an action movie far more when it has an element of realism in the fight scenes, whether they be shoot outs, sword fights or unarmed combat/martial arts fights. If an actor actual knows martial arts and/or has been trained/coached how to move/shoot/handle firearms/fight properly, and the fight is choreographed in such a way that realistic moves are used, rather than fake-ass flying through the air wire-fu, or that annoying slow-mo, then speed up crap, or the just as bad shaky camera & crap angle camera work. Same with guns. I've been a firearms enthusiast and shooting since the mid-90s' and when I see actors that have been trained how to handle firearms correctly and use realistic and proper tactics and skills in a movie gun fight, the movie becomes so much more enjoyble for me. All actors who have to handle guns should definitely be sent to a proper shooting school like Gunsite or Thunder Ranch for training IMO. I really can't stand the two guns held sideways flying through the air while shooting crap you get in movies these days. Graham
  7. I've got 3 x VF-11B and 3 x VF-11C and love them. Excellent engineering, good articulation, durable (so far), still nice and tight and very easy and smooth to transform. I really hope Yamato releases the atmospheric Super Packs from Operation Stargazer for the VF-11C and also releases the Full Armor. As a bit of a downer, when I talked with Yamato about the armor sveral months ago, they did admit when they designed the VF-11 toy, they didn't take the armor into consideration, unlike the V2 1/60 VF-1, which was designed from the ground up for the GBP Armor. This is not to say that the armor couldn't be made to fit the toy, just that it might be abit more difficult. Graham
  8. Agree with you about the Hasegawa 1/72, it's far too skinny IMO. And that would be a "royalty fee" or "license fee", not a loyalty fee. LOL.....I can't imagine any Macross fan paying Harmony Gold to stay loyal to them. Graham
  9. That used to happen to me quite a lot too, in my younger, wilder days. Graham
  10. Quite looking forward to seeing this after watching the trailer. I just hope there is not too much fake-ass CG and wire-fu. Just straight up 80s' style action suits me fine. Together with A-Team, Predators and Machete, 2010 looks like being the year of the 80s' style action movie! Graham
  11. I typically stick to the Typhoon. Although I hope they include the Pak Fa. Graham
  12. Neither did I. Graham
  13. In terms of sleekness, I think the VF-27 (sans gun), looks sleeker than the SV-51. However, I personally prefer the look of the SV-51 in all three modes over the VF-27. The SV-51 just looks meaner and certainly more 'real-world-ish', in fighter mode. For ultimate sleekness, nothing beats a VF-19F IMO. Graham
  14. Opening leg missile bays. Rotating seat. Graham
  15. Looks nice. No vertical tails! But if they are only at the concept model stage, how long would it take to get it into production.........30 years?!!!! Graham
  16. That's normal, part of WTO tendering rules IIRC. A large part of my job is bidding on government contracts (tenders) from the Hong Kong & Macau governments. All tenders have a strict deadline (date & time), by which they must be submitted. If you are even 1 second late in dropping your sealed tender proposal into the tendering box, then you are out. The deadline is known from day one, so it's not like they didn't know long in advance by when they had to submit it. Graham
  17. Very interesting. Graham
  18. Yes, Dio was very cool. Probably my favorite album was Sacred Heart, although Holy Diver and The Last in Line were also excellent as well. Now, that's out of the way, can we please refer to dioramas as 'dioramas'!!!!!!!!!! This is a pet hate of mine seeing them called 'dio'. Graham
  19. Hey, when did Yamato start making movies? I thought they just made toys. Graham
  20. Very interesting about the VF-19C being the most produced 19 variant as of 2050. Can't wait to see what the book says about the VF-19F/S. Graham
  21. The gun is of course the 'GU-11', 55mm gunpod used by the iconic VF-1 Valkyrie variable fighter, of Super Dimensional Fortress Macross fame. It is a 55mm calbre, 3 barreled Gatling/Vulcan type cannon with an ammunition capacity of 200rds, that fires at a cyclic rate of 1,200 rounds per minute. The ammunition is stored in an internal helical type magazine that wraps around the barrels. The GU-11 gunpod is significantly larger than 4 feet 5 inches long, given that it is carried by a 12.68m tall robot. Graham
  22. I'll bey the neck joint on that scult is probabaly loose, so the head is drooping forward. It wouldn't surprize me if the neck joint/head can extend up as well. Graham
  23. Yeah, I was also thinking that about the name. As you said, likely to just be an incomplete version, with perhaps just a couple of stages. Graham
  24. Steel molds are incredibly expensive. And no Yamato doesn't go with the 'cheap' option. Production run figures are uaually around 15,000 for an initial first release, but can drop sharply for repaints, to around 7,000, 5,000, or even 2,000 or 1,000 depending on the popularity of that particular paint scheme/head type. Graham
  25. I've always thought the F-22A is very photogenic from the front, top side or rear, but I've never liked how it looks from the side. Too chubby for my taste. Graham
