Interesting...  I wonder how this will compare with the MAFEX one (which was delayed until Feb 2021).  The Mafex one has soft goods jacket in pants but this sculpt looks a bit better.

 I like that MAFEX is looking to have the whole spider squad from into the spider-verse in their line-up.  Any speculation on this line?

Fantastic work!  This is probably one of the best renditions of this kit I have seen.  This is making me want to start building this kit, but the amount of colours on this thing always makes me put it back in the box.

I think he mentioned he was offered the kit directly from Volks because he built some of the other IMS kits.  Wish I can get on the IMS preview program.

Gold has always been tricky.  I like the finish Bandai did on the updated Hyaki Shiki, which was a flat dull gold.  With the Knight of Gold, it is tricky to get the right finish.

I like it.  It has the right presence, for lack of a better term.  The details look sharp, for a 1/100 scale kit, much better than the old Wave kits.  I am hoping this will be generally available.

Kind of sad I missed out on a Volks Mighty Series set on Mandarake.  I've been eying these kits for years but couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger.  Hopefully it went to a good home where someone will actually build the kits.

Those were released in the 1999 and they are tiny, maybe 5 inches tall, max.  There were three released, the knight of gold above, the empress flame, and the Led Mirage.  They are supposed to be 1/144 scale, but they feel smaller than that.  The are "poseable", but don't expect anything other than basic moving or arms and legs (think Kenner Star Wars action figures from the 80s, maybe less articulation).  These designs are so intricate there really is not a lot of room for joints on these things.

The images below are from Mandarake, so you can still find these available ont he secondary market.  I personally don't own these, but I do have the limited edition unpainted versions.

Wave produced a series of kits in the past that used basic polycaps for limited articulation.  Those were OK, but think 1980s style gunpla.  Lots of paint, seamline removal and glue to make them look ... interesting.  FSS fandom is a pain filled pursuit, especially if you grew up in the 80s when you would occasionally get the Hobby Japan Mooks that filled your head with these awesome looking model kits, only to find they were unavailable back then, and astronomical now.

Volks did release poseable resin kits (part of the MMS series) but those are long out of print.  The HSGK series is still available, however, they are really expensive.

I went through my collection of links for FSS and the majority of them are now dead (thanks Yahoo Japan!)...  The best resource for FSS information is the Gundam Eclipse forum where it went from a mega thread to a whole section on the site.  http://gundameclipse.net/the-five-star-stories-area-f47/

Thanks for posting.  I hope this kit is widely available.  I have the LED Mirage (without the Napalm pack) and I was looking forward to this one.  The announcement of this kit came out of nowhere.  My only concern about this kit, which the video did not answer, is the sever orange peel effect that was present on the Bang Doll.  I think they have refined their injection molding process, but it would be a lot of work to make this kit look good if there are surface imperfections.

You have a long wait.  The KOG is probably the most popular design and they waited until now to release it.

I got my super parts from NY.  I think I was one of the last ones they were able to process (Asked about it in June, got the package in late September).  So far, they have always delivered in the end, but it is extremely frustrating dealing with them from their site crashing, to the queue system to these high demand TWE items.  If you are fortunate enough to not have anything else on order with them, you can file a CC claim and try to recover your funds that way.

Had a trip booked to Japan Pre-COVID and I was planning to visit the Jungle store in Osaka.  Went in Spring 2019 and it was great.  Huge selection of Macross stuff (got the Tornado packs renewal for something like 6,000 yen).  This was just before the web store reopened so there was a massive backlog of stuff in store.  This new store looks even nicer.  Hopefully it will still be around when travel opens up again.  I could spend hours just browsing through the store.

Don't know if they will be consolidating their items from around Japan, but the Tokyo store had an original Leopardon from the Japanese version of Spiderman in the original box.  Item was going for 270,000 yen but it was great to see.

I think there is a Tamashii Nations think the end of the month...I was supposed to be in Japan and I remember planning to be in Akihabara the end of October.  It may have been canceled.

I think those details are self-adhesive photo-etch parts.  There are metallic coloured ones under the vents, on the torso and in the groin area.  The "3d stickers" look to be coloured, self-adhesive photo-etch.  I wonder if they will scale back the kit and release a version without the photoetch and light up gimmicks, like the PG Falcon.

It also looks like there are actual metal parts for the vulcans and backpack thrusters.

The parts list also lists magnets for some purpose as well as a new evolution of the light up beam saber from the first PG.  The first PG had an option set which had a light up beam saber, but the light emission came from the blade.  In this iteration, it looks like the light comes from the hilt and you can use it to light up the backpack when the hilts are in the backpack.

Shockingly, I received a shipping notification and delivery today of my DX SSP set.  Hopefully others will get their set.

As you can see, I opened a ticket back in July to upgrade my shipping to EMS (still supported in Canada, thankfully), paid the upgrade (~$15) and the order shifted to Preparation in Progress once I had a Live Chat Support conversation with an agent.  Once that was done, it only took them 5 weeks to actually put it in the mail.  Once mailed, it took 5 days to get here.

This is probably my favourite form for the Hazel.  I am glad they are going to make this one kit instead of forcing people to buy multiple kits to get the parts to make this thing.  I wonder if they designed the runners properly so that we don't get a box full of useless junk.  I hope so, given the leftovers from the HGUC line.

@sqidd here is a playlist of someone building the model.  He is not doing anything too fancy other than applying panel lining.  Others have gone on to completely rebuild the electronics, etc.  I think he is up to Volume 24 at this point.  This will give you a sense of the size of it as well.  I'd volunteer to build it for you, but I live in Canada...

Cherry Bomb toys is absolutely amazing.  If you have a chance to visit, I highly recommend it.  If you watched the video, you may have caught a glimpse of this, but this was my best find in the store.
