Can someone tell me what online exclusive crap Yamato is trying to put up this time? It's announced yesterday and it says limited edition and I don't see any special on it? My best guess is weathering super/strike pack to go with the weathering Roy & Hikaru's VF-1S....

The "Skull" is new and different.

I always found the designs from Gatchaman appealing. I imagine that if those vehicles combine in the show then the SOC...they are socs right?...will also transform and combine?
Pete
Some better photos from here:

They are not from Bandai. They combine in the show, but not these toys.
They are also VERY damn expensive too.

Gaiking is just Gay King if you know what I mean
I am not a huge super robots mecha fan - but I just think the SOCs are so fun and since there is only one character for each series, each of them are unique.
Pete
Well say about "one unique hero robot in each series".
But Gaiking is no where near 'gay'...with or without 'Dragon'.
-
very nice, but I'm waiting for a War Machine from Iron Man 2.
I don't have any hottoys 1/6 stuff, but War Machine could be my first.
If the movie is good!
-
You should get the gx27 Gaiking too. It is another SOC classic 70s robot!
That would be GX-05 if this is the one you are looking for...

(I am also hoping to get one sometime next year!)

Glendizer and All Spazer set are now mine!
I know - you can't really see any of the other spazers...but I've been busy making a photo-comic (http://dyrl.pl/oferta.html English version coming soon) and so have a bit of a mess on the shelves...
Anyways - this pretty much rounds out my SOC collection. All I really need now in 2010 are Zambot 3 and Ideon. The Fist of Doom Mazinger Z would be nice too.
Then, at some point - Poseidon and the other shin Getters... but especially Poseidon as I have a fond place in my heart for him due to his starring role in the fan photo comic "As Cybertron Turns:
http://spacebridge2000.tripod.com/comic.html (check out Getter Poseidon pimpin' in his purple hat!)
As for the King of Space - I'm pleased with him. The box is massive and it's kind of over-glorified given that these are mainly accessories and more accesories ...but I guess he wouldn't be the King of Space without a fleet of ships...even though technically one of the ships is a submarine and the other is for drilling underground...
But whatever.
My 70s goofy super robot bonanza is complete!
I now own the original Getter Robo set, Voltes V, Combattler V, Daimos, God Mars, Dancouga, Glendizer + All Spazer Set and the three original Evangelion SOC SPECs.
I must say that Bandai's Soul of Chogokin lines is just amazing. Takara needs to give up its' license for Transformers to Bandai. THIS is what modern Transformers need to look like - Die cast, good poseability, TONS of accessories and super robot goodness.
Of course - my biggest dream is that SOC Gundbuster that is out of production and not available anywhere...
But in 2010 - I'll be happy with just two new additions: Zambot 3 and Ideon.
Tomino - this is going to be your year!
Pete

Sigh... Santa's going to be running late for me as well
From all these pics, I'm pretty impressed with the poseability of this thing.
Strange that a carrier could have more range of movement than many valkyrie toys.
Waiting for mine too, hopefully get it before New Year.

looks nice.

Just saw it in the morning with 3D.
It is not a bad movie, I enjoy it, but it is too long and story can get a little boring in the middle.
Creating a complete new (Alien) culture is not a easy task. It is the reason why it is not a great movie.
I still don't like the Mech design. While most of the CG is very good, some place/scene in world are too colorful, it break the reality...
It is simply "Dance With Wolves plus Aliens in 3D made by Disney!"
-
Behold the Lucifer. Now with 100% more tampo printing!!!
Let us all pray that it isn't printed on the same glossy plastics which hampered the VF-25's.
It looks better than VF25.
Bandai has improved this from VF25.
-
Side cover for the battroid mode, better hands and more tampo print.
Can I have a clear cockpit glass please? I don't like the 'rainbow' layers!
After seeing what an amazing job Yamato did for the 1/24 Patlabour box graphic. Most of the Macross box art really look pretty rubbish, better box art please!

premium figures of the Movie set. - prototype figures photos
-
Prototype Photos here:
Looking good.
-
Shoulders, hips, crotch/a$$ area, knees and ankle articulation are all metal. There's also plenty metal inside the legs (internal leg frame) and some inside the torso.
All the outside armor is plastic with a nice matte finish and the paint job is as perfect as can be, not a single flaw!!
yes, it is a great toy. Very good looking and details.
Here is a japanese site with very good pics, if anyone interested in.
-
Thats a great price however last I checked Amazon doesnt ship to canada??
Amazon.com (US) don't ship certain items outside US. That inculde 'toys', sadly.
(However I have seen sellers do. And if they do, they uaually more expensive and have some high shipping cost)
-
it would have been better if they made a movie based on the future we've seen glimpses of in T1 & T2.
No one can disagree with this.
-
Not a Bandai product, but it sorta fits here. Looks like we are getting a diecast R9-A from R-type Final. It appears to be identical to the garage kit that was produced a few years back (think hobbyfan still sells recasts). The kit was excellent and I'm looking forward to adding this to my R-type fleet.

and by sorta I mean barely...since it's a metal collectible. Just figured it was too niche to get its own thread.
yes, looking forward to it.

And Wave is going to release a 1/100 Monster MKii model-kit, Bandai will release a (small) MF konig monster......
Will Yamato re-consider a 1/60 Monster MKii toy again?
-
The MKII Viper is 1st on my list and when GALACTICA comes out, thats a must buy. Maybe 2 of them. One for her glory days & one after her final Jump!!!
I found these pics the other day of the new Moebius MKII Viper, can't wait!!!
Box art and the parts photos.
This kit is coming out Jan next year, 5,040円

Sill don't understand how Bandai turn this cool color
into this....
-
Quarter is in a nice size. But the color really looks too bright, compare with the prototype color.

1:60 GBP-1A with missile launch effect part - 6,800 yen, 2009 December, Yamato online shop exclusive (Japan only).
What the hell, Yamato online shop exclusive (Japan only)?!
Yamato is acting like a stupid 'Big Head' company like Bandai. Soon, most of the stuff will be 'exclusive' or 'limited'!
-
Ninjin loves you yeah!
Ranka's legs are too long.
-
Of course we'll need to wait for the actual release and reviews of it, but it seems that the stands are there more to keep the whole thing from toppling over, rather than keeping the arms from sagging.
The gun and flight deck are a lot of stuff to be holding out that far, and there's no substantial counterbalance to keep it upright otherwise (can't really tell about ship mode though).
Don't know if anyone has seen this photo, this the best clear shot that shows the color*and details) of the final product.

Those TV style hands look a little disappointed.
