  1. It's very sad for the Theatre industry.

There is no more creativity in what the majors bring to us !!

At least, 5 years agor remakes where done on a generational basis (with at least a 20 year gap between them).

Now be just reboot franchises on a 10year basis ???

I just says it sucks !

When do we have to expect the reboot of the Ironman franchise or the X-Men franchise?

It shouldn't need it (reboot) if the third movie wasn't that bad.

  2. Graham said that the destriods weren't on the list to revisit until better economic times... it's in his "meeting with Yamato" thread.

No more Destriods until better economic times...

What can I say, Yamato released crazy amount of Macross valks last year, collectors and fans are having a tough time in their pockets. The set price of Destriod (as a non-transformable toy) are not cheap. And economy is still not good.

Sale of the Destriods series suffer badly because of it.

I still hope to see 1/60 Phalanx and Spartan next year. Perhape a 1/60 Monster (kit) too?!

  3. running the text through a google translate, seems that the $2300 1/2000 SDF-1 sold better than they expected, and they are hopeing that the same level of success can repeated for the 1/60 monster kit that they want to make, or are thinking of making...

I think this monster kit is only in its conceptional stage, but if they are thinking of making it, thats good news, as compared to being totally ignored.

That said, it will probably be along the lines of the 1/2000 Macross: Limited and expensive as hell.

I am a big supporter of 1/60 Monster.

However if that mean paying over $2000 for a non-complete 'model-kit'. That is no way. No matter how great details it might have.

In term of details, price point and finishing, Yamato should think about how to compare with Hot Toys's 1/6 Aliens Power Loader or ED209 from Robcop.

  4. Will try, but getting parts out of them even for me has been like getting blood out of a stone.

    Graham

    Hey Graham

Could you ask them if there are any plan to do some 1/60 enemy mechs in the near future?

I am sure many of us would like to see some!

    Thanks

  5. still can't find any pre-orders for the sheryl bunny with the usual websites nor ebay.

anyone got links for japan yahoo auctions?

don't know japanese so can't do the search myself.

    thanks

    copy this - マクロスf 一番くじ

and do a search in Japan yahoo auctions... a few people are selling the whole box.

They will be out on March, give it time, I am sure they will be on sale on some usual websites. ^_^

  6. Hey Man, they got the hair pretty damn close....look at the mop on Takuya Kimura. The captaiin's perfect...got the scruffy voice, the look....this movie should be good.

I always think Sean Connery should be the 'old' captain... if only they can afford his paid.

Takuya is ok - it take time to take him seriously, I would perfer Kaneshiro Takeshi...

However, to many members out there it's a disappointment that it comes with bubble hands.

Personally, the bubble hands are disappointed because they simply don't look good at all. Not because I perfer DYRL better than TV style.

Yamato should either re-design them(better looking bubble hands) or pack extra DYRL style hands in the future.

  8. Wave 1/24 kit built up two years ago and never photographed. I used a bunch of metal replacement parts and scratchbuilt some details as well. I also redid alot of the articulation to fix the shoulders, hips, and ankles, and enable the Scopey to hold his rifle well and roller dash with style.

Longer description and more pics on my site here:

Great work on both 1/24 and 1/20 model kits. ^_^

Personally, I hope Bandai will release more 1/20 Votoms models kit, they are like Master grade, great details and easy to build!

  9. I will be offering a whole set (one of each item) and then some subsets in March from the States. Will post offer and pricing here once I figure in the various costs. ;)

Some better pic of them (prototype models) from a magazine scan. ^_^

  10. Aren't the colors too bright???

I still perfer if it has a darker color.

However it looks much better 'in person'. The white part is actially more like a light grey. B))

Here is a photo that you can see it stand next to a DX 25S.

It is a great toy, bty. Love the size (very tall), details (enough), weight(heavy with some metal inner parts and feets) and solid feel (qc is good, tight joins but ship mode is a little floopy).

Thanks Tachikoma81, it is great photos to have the 1/48 and 1/60 together.

Overall, I still think the 1/48 looks better.

But still no version can come close to what it is suppose to be looks like...

  12. It seems this model has more details than we know, but somehow can't come through well from 'normal' photos...

Hope to see some more "close up" shots...

And wonder if anyone who has it actually paint it or do some touch up such as pannel lines.

  13. Got mine today!!!

    Looks great. congrat.

    Thx for sharing the photos.

Still wish Yamato will give us more (1/48 DYRL style) hand sets...

I am not sure which version I perfer at the moment.
