I really enjoyed this flick. The digital Dude didn't seem out of place, the story was entertaining, the acting was good. Hot chicks, updates to the rides, what's not to like. Really looking forward to the 1/6 scale light cycle from Hot Toys.

Pretty funny, wrote that @ midnight on a Monday, so I was probably pretty well in to a bottle of good wine. Funny how no one took me up on the offer. Hell with it, it still stands though, anyone that likes Sci-Fi and has not read this book, PM me. If you're the first, I'll mail it to you and it's yours to keep, FOC. As an aside, has anyone ever read his short story "Understanding Space and Time"? I think it's freaking brilliant, but I'm obviously a fan.

Life seemed to be in a holding pattern for 2010... As said earlier, 2010 the movie on it's own, pretty good. As a follow up to 2001, not so good. Original Tron rocked.

My wife must've directed her mom to my Amazon wish list; she hooked me with a bunch of books from the list. I'm pretty excited and anxious to get reading. Last time she was here we got to talking about books and she told me how when she was a single mom caring for my wife she sold most that she had in order to make ends meet. She had hoped to pass them on as a family collection, but as we all know, family comes before possessions. So, I found a signed copy of one of the books (an Erma Bombeck novel) and got it for her. I'm going to try to get as many of the books she gave up back to her going forward. Well, enough of that. Any new confirmed treats? Has all the hint dropping paid off? Or did you hook a loved one up with something cool? [Oh, yeah... I almost feel bad about the BBQ Parakeet joke now. Almost.]

HA! My wife has a parakeet that she loves. She goes north to visit her mother quite often and whenever she slips up and asks what I have planned for dinner that night, I tell her the worlds smallest BBQ chicken. Never gets old (to me at least).

I could see how one would have that opinion. Where do you draw the line on mods though? I like them because they seem like a poor mans rescue. An old car that you can't afford to make pretty, you make it ugly on purpose, so long as you have an eye for it and can weld.

What do you all think of Ratrods? I really like the look of them. You think at first that it's just sh!t all thrown together, but there really is a style behind them, and it takes some effort (so it seems) to make it look like you put no effort into it. That makes sense, right? Anyhow, here's some more.

I agree on the relaxation request... I was going to take this Christmas off, my first one in 6 years but I just found out today my manager (who was going to cover my shift) is quitting and the 18th will be his last day. So I get to spent Christmas Eve, (now) Christmas Day, and New Years Day at work. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to have a job, and I get triple pay for those 3 days, but my wife and I haven't had a Christmas together since we've been together. Sucks. I told her we'll blow my extra holiday pay on extra gifts for each other, so maybe I'll get myself this to ease the pain
