  1. That sounds nice. P.S. I am a happy-ending guy. So I like the TV ending better.
  2. Personally I think: if you design them new valks (even newer than that of the protagonist) and give them names (?!), they must be someone with considerable screen time. Otherwise, it's more typical/practical to just assign "just another VF-11/17 squad" to do the job and carry on with the story. Really nothing they "shouldn't do", just that they gave me wrong expectation on the introduction of a VF-19 squad.
  3. I understand thata in the plot Gamlin was to be transferred. But I can't see the need to introduce a new sqaud with a squad name, newer model valks with named pilots. They could have just simply said Gamlim was trasferred and said nothing about the replacement squad. What I was wondering is that the new sqaud didn't have much story or character development or screen time. So why bother? P.S. Although I don't feel exactly right to see Gamlin courting a 14-year old girl, but given that he was being a gentleman and "getting to know each other" in a Plato way, I can forgive him.
  4. I too agree that he is the most decent guy in the series. Besides Max, maybe. I do not understand the role of the Emerald Team. The pilots lack development, and don't have their stories IIRC. If just to sell toys, they can easily transfer Gamlin from a VF-17D onto VF-19S after he promoted. Unless they are keen to sell a VF-17S too.
  5. I'd say he likes to disagree, not argue.
  6. I more or less share the same thought. Don't really care about the show. But the VF-17 looks good and special and I am looking forward to it. While I too am interested in M&M customs, VF-17 should be black to be right. It's a stealth bomber after all...
  7. I feel more love in the 17S than the 19S! It's quite unique! And I am imaging it towers over the other valks... It's the tallest one, right?
  8. I saw it on 1/F of CTMA. I believe the other shops are beginning to carry it too, one or two days delay is common. Argh! I think my usual vendor won't carry it until Sat. But his price is almost always the best. And nice guy too.
  9. Saw the 19S at CTMA today. Didn't ask how much... Waiting for my usual shop to carry it...
  10. Try Sino Centre in Yau Ma Tei. Probably not the best price around, but fair. I am buying from an online shop my own, but that may be a problem for a traveller. I believe it's pretty safe to say that you'll get it before Dec 1 from past experience.
  11. While even Bandai releases a version 2 for the line and in such a short time-frame, why don't we accept that version 1 is in fact so obviously inferior that the market yearns for a refined one? P.S. I still don't like the articulation joints enough. They are still loose to me. Nail polish may save the day, I hope.
  12. I really hope the Millia version would get released. I am worrying about bad sales (owing to price! not engineering) would hinder it. Oh, did I mention that I won't mind a Max version? If they can do a LV VF-1S for Focker, I can't see why they cannot do a Max VF-17S.
  13. Personally, I think the songs of the TV series are more ear catching. I instant-like them. All of them. Nothing to do with brain-washing with 25 episodes. Remind me when I first hear about the old Macross SDF ones. The movie songs are okay (Ranka's are better than Sheryl's this time), but not enough to leave an impression to me.
  14. Me too I like the TV series better. - The songs are better. - Naturally, more time for story and character development. - I like the TV ending where the human and Vajras settled in a more positive way. In the movie, the Vajra warped away to avoid being blasted - not a friendly way for any kind of settlement. - Less casualty, real or fake. In the movie, . I like how Klan Klan used Michael's VF-25G and Alto used his sniper rifle in his memory in the TV version too.
  15. I was thinking too that they screwed up posing them.
  16. Exactly something we share with the local japanese collectors; these goods are more readily available and cheaper. Buying decisions are easier to justify.
  17. I won't say my buddies at TD may represent the target audience of Yamato, which should be the local Japanese. Nonetheless, suppose they are a good reference as Hong Kong, while is under China territory, more resembles the Japanese market than the north America or other parts of the world, in terms of culture (we grew up watching jap animes on TV), buying power (both the price of those merchanises and dispensable income), and that they are dedicated toy fans (and especially Macross). Most of they wouldn't get it on day 1 because of the price. Once it gets a price slash I think many of them will bite the bullet.
  18. That's an industrial event and I suppose it's designated for Hong Kong manufacturers and their potential customers. There would be original/ licensed toys from HK companies (e.g. Hot Toys, but I don't know if they would be there), but not toys from Bandai or Yamato.
  19. I am sorry to hear that. We shouldn't have termed it "interesting"... Thanks for sharing though so I know such barbarism still exists and is so close to us.
  20. Everything else is so bland and meaningless compared to that.
