    Bandai DX VF-31

For those who have the DX VF-31A, could you kindly get the measurements of the wing (as seen in the attached picture below)? Thanks a lot.

It is listed as is. Not sure. But I'll give it a try.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Just bought a second hand VF-31J from Mandarake and realised that the second pilot is missing. Guess the original owner must have loved the booby pilot so much that he/she is willing to sell the 31J but not the booby pilot
  4. The hips area looks terrible because of the intakes

    Bandai DX VF-31

It just bizarre. There are demands out there that they don't seem to bother and then they say Macross market is small?

    Bandai DX VF-31

Based on the order numbers, assuming there are sequential, it means that HLJ gets allocated less than 140 copies in total, which is f**king ridiculous, knowing the number of overseas purchase will be. With all the known overseas sites or sites that mainly sell overseas, it's like less than 2000 copies. I'd believe there are more overseas fans than this. Are they actively restricting overseas sales because of worrying about HG license issue?
  7. I was kind of hoping for a 1/48 VF-1D.

    Bandai DX VF-31

There are a couple of VF-31J on Mandarake selling for ¥21,000.
  9. Low enough for them to stay in business and more people can afford, and thus they can grow. Price at $330 and they sell 10 a month, price at $260 and they might sell 15. I don't believe the cost of making the valks different too much between the two companies. Bandai may have better market reach but if they starts selling $400 a pop, I don't think they can sell that many too. By the same token, if they can't make a profit selling at current prices, I don't think they bother to sell any valks. So I don't see Arcadia pricing has anything to do with the size of the company, but more about the marketing strategy they employ. If they disregard the overseas demand and focus only on domestic, then, yes, they need the high prices to survive, but this also limit their reach. Anyway with their current price and competition from Bandai, good chances they will go out soon or later unless or until Bandai really starts selling the valks $400 a pop, which in turn is very possible, judging the prices of VF-31A.
  10. If I were Arcadia and if I wanted to do a 1/48, I'll do the VF-1D, VT-1 and VE-1 now. By the look of the way Bandai designs the seat with its current DX VF-1J, VF-1D is a great possibility, and may be even VT-1 and VE-1. If Arcadia don't do it now, then don't bother at all. They ain't going to compete with Bandai.
  11. Other than more tampo printings, what else to qualify as 'premium'? Bandai has been doing the tampo printings for no frills
  12. Most people have the popular models, in multiple copies. The two seaters and 31A are not in production and still have good demands. They are releasing 31J in August, one can wonder how long it will take to release 31A. By then the market has moved on.
  13. Same goes here. I wonder why they choose the all so common model, instead of those and the VF-31A.
  14. I still like mine. Though the quality can't compare with the new one, it's easy to customise. Still the best fighter profile.
  15. Besides than Macross target audience are much smaller than Transformers, the willingness of Macross fans to pay astronomically high price also push the prices high. All the manufacturers see that despite increase of 50% to 100% more than the original price over a short period of time, product still selling like hot cakes, the next item will be 15% to 25% more. The rest is history. Even the KOs is well into US$150 region and simply because they can.
  16. Cool, I've been looking forward the VT-1
  17. Hopefully they make a 1/48 one day. Then I don't even bother about the Bandai DX or Arcadia.
  18. The ones who voted down are probably those who horde these items as many as they could and worrying the KOs will hurt their extreme profit.
  19. Personally I don't care if it's KO or not as long as they have good quality at a reasonable price. If someone is willing to pay 60k yen for 31A, fine by me. I'm not paying those ridiculous prices. If Bandai or Arcadia worry about KO hurting them, then run a second or third releases of those hard to get items. I'm sure no one would want to buy KOs if the original can be bought at a reasonable price. But if the scalpers trying to scalp, I don't mind KO at all.
  20. Same goes here. If it's 31A, I'd buy in a heartbeat

    Bandai DX VF-31

Talking about scarcity for recent Bandai DX releases. I'm not sure if it is Bandai's fault or the distributors' making. Before VF-31A, Bandai DX is hard to get but not impossible, but after 31A it is almost impossible unless you are willing to pay the ridiculous prices. I ordered the recent DX VF-1J online and just received an email from the site saying that there was a reduction of the 1J being made according to the site's normal distributors. Hence my pre-order can't be fulfilled. Since all these items are pre-ordered, wouldn't Bandai knew exactly the number of units that they need to make to meet the demand, otherwise, why bother about pre-order? Why a reduction of number? How does that benefit Bandai? It begins to sound like the distributors knew that the Macross fans are willing to pay any price to get the items (as evident in the past in Arcadia and presently Bandai), they just hold certain amount of items back and re-sell it later for a much bigger margin. Though a long shot, I hope Bandai could do something about it, like running a second release.

Valkyrie Factory actually takes deposit for the VF-31S (below) I just hope they make a VF-31A https://showzstore.com/pre-order-valkyrie-factory-vf-1-60-macross-delta-vf-31j-siegfried-hayate-immermann-machine-modelaf27_p1176.html
