  1. I succumbed to military paint scheme, I'm going for something similar to FFR-31 Sylphid since my 31JA looks similar to it.
  2. Me too. And the part is too small to sand and polish
  3. Thanks. Got it out.
  4. Ever wonder how far you can disassemble a VF-31? Here is as far as I can go. Basically, not much. If look carefully at the picture, there are three screws that can be unscrewed in the main body. Two of them did nothing after being loosened. The one on the white part is supposed to allow you to take out the hip/legs assembly, but I suspect there's another screw on the other side but being covered by another plate. That plate is glued tight. Even the shoulder part has glue. One shoulder is easier to remove than the other because it has less glue.
  5. @Xigfrid thanks again for the advice. I always afraid of doing this. But I'll give it a try this time
  6. I'm in the process of disassembling the 31 as much as possible. I hope I can remember how to put it back
  7. @Xigfrid Thanks for the advice, is the paint from inside or outside? Did you find the alcohol has any adverse effect on the clear plastic? I know Bandai plastic does not react well with turpentine.
  8. Nah, can't find the same blue. Since I use can spray, keeping the original scheme is out of the window.
  9. It's a white primer on the wings and carnards. Original idea is to adapt Rafale prototype paint scheme. But that can be boring on 31.
  10. Hmm, that's a good idea, a bright camouflage scheme?!
  11. Thought of that. Still undecided to go for a military scheme or a colourful one.
  12. Is it possible to do it in DX? If so, how to make it clear? I'd really love to do that.
  13. Progress is slow. Paint scheme not decided and frankly don't know how to approach it as the whole thing is glued together. Might involve tons of masking tapes.
  14. Basically, the mod is complete but can't decide on paint scheme. Will get some pictures up soon
  15. I'm sure will like it. Waiting patiently for it to come. Anyone know roughly how long it'll take to reach Australia? It's still in pre-production stage
  16. Bought the 1/48 pilot. I'll try the 1/72 pilot on the DX VF-31 then.
  17. I think it'll be fine for my Yamato 1/48 VF-1. Yamato pilot is larger than the Bandai. Any luck with the DX VF-31 pilot?
  18. I think the VF-31 pilot is slightly larger than 1/72 but Slimer though. And the legs sit a lot more straight
  19. The Sentinel Legioss seems good. Price is a bit too steep though. But seeing the price of VF-2SS despite its quality, it's not totally unexpected.
  20. Test fitting of the expanded canards reveal additional filling at the tips required. Looks like the super glue is strong enough for the task but time will tell if it can last. Once the glue settled, it's sanding time again.
  21. @mickyg thanks! It helps a lot seeing the actual picture. I'll see if I can change it as the canards are really thin and the joints are rather tight.
  22. @mickyg thanks again! The extra lines are great
  23. It's being called as F-21. Looks like marketing takes over proper naming rules. Money comes first
  24. Need to ask a favour for those who has a DX VF-31A, can you get me the measurement of the canard shown below? Thanks!
