IIRC, an artists was commissioned to make a variation of the image that Bless has linked to. I guess some people gave him grief for the changes he made.

Bandai commissioned Craig Mullins to paint that one,

he's one of the best digital artists ever,

but knows nothing about anime,

if you've seen his tutorial on that painting on gfxaftist.com

he called it "giant robot' :/
