  1. sorry but it's been so long that I don't even have the original files anymore, just this crappy lowres render.
  2. Just in case anyone hasn't seen them yet This was done in school and it's been a few years so I've improved a lot. I'm quite itching to do some newer stuff for MF too, as soon as I have the time. http://silent-rage.deviantart.com/art/YF19-Take-Off-4045692 http://silent-rage.deviantart.com/art/YF19...-flight-3983761 And I'm not sure if it's ok to post this since it's not macross, if it's not I'll take it down. My Yukikaze inspired ship. http://silent-rage.deviantart.com/art/Xcalon-ship-8148377
  3. A while ago a painting of 2 Valk version F14s at sea blasting away with their gunpod was on the front page, can someone who has that pic post it here plz?
  4. i don't remember seeing any escaflowne aircrafts, but i saw some concept arts of the world and mechs, and i 'd love to get my hands on the artbook do u have some pics to share?
  5. OH my GOD, how could i miss such an obvious mistake. thanks for pointing that out, i just noticed that the wing base is totally wrong, damn i'm too tired, will fix it after i get some sleep
  6. minor update: i had to make a work experience demoreel for school, so i decided to render this thing in higher detial and throw it in. and here it is. c&c plz, and hope you like it.
  7. um... the wings can be folded up and the wing attachments can be contracted back into the body, so if you consider that transformation, then, yeah...
  8. Thanks for all the comments. And thanks for pointing out its weakness too. I had to make my design based on a previous design that we used for our game project, (which is what this ship is for) that's why the wingbase is like that. But seeing as how it makes the design less believable, i should probably change it for the better as soon as i get time anyway. right now i'm working on a more detailed cockpit, i'll get some mor erenders out as soon as there's anything worth showing
  9. yeah these are awesome reference pics, thanks. Do you know where to find more cockpit drawings? like the ones for DYRL or VF1s, etc.
  10. I remember seeing a bunch of them out of the design works book on here, but i can't find the thread anymore. can anyone link those plz? I really need them for a project i'm working on. thanks a lot.
  11. yeah i think so, i thought about giving it intakes, but i ddin't really find a good place to put them, so it's space only. besides, it would explain the lack of aerodynamics, right?
  12. Yeah, it's intended for a FMV, so there really is no poly limit
  13. i think you can notice the blocks of polygons on it and how the cylinders are not smooth, when i convert it, it should end up around 240,000 polys or so, it's 62,000 right now.
  14. pic1 pic2 pic3 pic4 pic5 i designed this based on tye yf19 and yukikaze not much functionality since it's for a futuristic space shooter, tell me what you think. this is the low poly version, i'm going to convert it to subd then back with higher iteration to finish it up.
  15. Bandai commissioned Craig Mullins to paint that one, he's one of the best digital artists ever, but knows nothing about anime, if you've seen his tutorial on that painting on gfxaftist.com he called it "giant robot' :/
  16. awesome, i love the details. the hand seems a little weird though, and the truck seems a little... wonky. i just did a *not-macross* mech drawing too, some c&c?
  17. so i designed this thing for a project, and some1 said it looked zentraedi, so i decided to post it here. enjoy or not. coloring was done in 5 min... so... yeah.
  18. um, i havn't been on here for quite a while, can someone sum up what the hell is going on? too much stuff going on.
  19. omg fanboy fetish wet dreams!!!
  20. argh, i think you better give me some links to beginner MEL scripting. foo = rand(0,2) or something like that? i used that waveform node in 3dmax before, and yeah it would definitely work. i've only used aftereffects for editing text, moving videos and such, i didn't even know it was capable of that kind of 3d image distortion. Would it be easier to do that kind of stuff with programs like discreet combustion?
  21. my buddy from school made this for a project. it's the best M:0 music i've ever seen! It's also the only one but that's beside the point. i think there might be too much noise at the end though, but overall it's a riot. http://www.cdis.org/~xeromagi/Macross%20MV.mov
  22. Right, back, sorry for the delay, the Other Half had to pull an allnighter writing a paper on the machine. Where were we? Oh right, exhaust... Okay, here's what I'd do for a simple solution: Just make a "bulb" shape, like an onion, a candle flame, or a minaret top. parent this to the feet. Create a shader for it. Use MEL (only a little, I promise!) to introduce a random jitter to the following channels: scale, opacity, glow, and the R and G color channels (so that color fluctuates between blue and white). For slightly more advanced fun, hook up a SamplerInfo node to the transparency channel, specifically map it to the "Facing Ratio" channel of the sampler info node. This will cause the fire-shape to be more transparent at its edges, where it is viewed nearly edge-on, and more opaque in its middle, where we see it front-on. For further adventurousness, also map facing ratio to color R and G channels - now we have a flame that is white in its core, blue towards its fringes.... Dok Gonzo, do you happen to know how to produce a transparent distortion effect? Like jet wash or matrix style bullet trail? i been thinking about it and i can't get too far. i think you can do it with a glass tube, no specular, with facing ratio. For jet wash, attach an animated noise to the displacement node. For bullet trail, a black/white/black/white smooth ramp with value linked to displacement. And maybe augment the offset value of the ramp with a MEL that produces random values between 0.5 and 1.5? also, i think the way you do the jet exhaust sound pretty cool. It all works in theory but i wanna try it out and see it in action, but how do you create basic MEL scripts like randomizing values and such? i'm a total noob when it comes to MEL X_X Macross Fanboy: I have no idea where to find that mod now. I had it like 2 years ago and i just went on google and searched Freespace Macross Mod
