They serve two purposes.

1. As tie down chain connection points/

2. As reaction control/maneuvering thrusters while operating in a vacuum.

hmm is it those that ppl call Vernier Thrusters then?

if so is it possible to get them seperately as bits from HJL or others source?

Yes those are it. This adds incredible maneuverability to the valk. HLJ have them as photo etched type but they lack the physical dept they might need to look like the original part.

I believe either WAVE or Kotobukiya makes spares and come in various sizes. They might not be exactly the same ones as found on the Hasegawa kits but a good start for scratch builds or kit bashing.

I've ordered a bunch of Kotobukiya parts to see which ones work the best for these in 1/72 scale. I'll report after I have the parts (some of them just shipped from HLJ after being backordered for a while, some are still on backorder).

I think the best will be KBYP-113 Burner Nozzle III with an extra strip of styrene, we'll see. I think this is what maxjr used on his VF-0.

Here's an illustration of the "Low-thrust vernier thruster/multipurpose hook & handle" from the illustrious Macross Mecha Manual

Happy Macross to you all!!

"EDIT" i think the P111-3 P111-4 and P111-5 are the best suited for my needs!
