Phadeout
Anyone know of anything that would come as a cutable metal sheet that is thin enough to bend with simple tools and by hand... but isn't so thin that it crumples like Tinfoil? I know there has to be something like this out there, I just gotta find it. Cheers
EXO
Those are easily available in hobby shops.. if you don't have one near you try Micromark.com
dyowelb
what about soda can?
promethuem5
Soda can's probably too crumpley.... not enough weight bearing ability. I would go with copper sheet... you can get some nice thin stuff that is pliable and workable and stll looks good.
Phadeout
Is there anything like the copper sheets that I could get in a Chrome like finish? Thanx for the help guys, I'll check my local hobby store... I swear I've seen it before, so that must have been it.
azrhino
Go to a craft store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby and ask for Art Emboss. See the attached link for product information. Art Emboss
magicsp00n
You should be able to find thicker aluminium sheets around also. Those work very well for hobby projects. There's a nice surplus store near me that has them, but I suspect a good hobby shop would as well.
VF19
If you can, find theatre grade Blackwrap. It's like Aluminum foil, but about 5-10 times thicker. Usually o the lower end. It comes matte bloack on both sides as well.
EXO
Are they all flat or do any of them come pre textured or with patterns?
David Hingtgen
I've always liked brass for most "metal modelling". Pretty close to copper (for obvious reasons).
Phadeout
Can anyone tell me how much of a difference there is between .005" and .008" copper sheeting? Anyone have any experience using different thicknesses (gauges)?
