Pat S Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I would suggest watching the original OAV series before even thinking about watching 2040, so you can compare for yourself. Without a doubt, the original is a great show, though some people have a problem with the music.

RichterX Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 If I remember well there are two versions of the motoslave in 2040, I haven't seen any of the other BGC incarnations. In my opinion BGC 2040 was a good anime, just the ending was bad.

Keith Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 Honestly, I liked it better the second time I watched it than the first. It has some fun elements, and a firm ending. The downside being that it turns into a rehash of Eva in a lot of ways, right down to Eva style boomers. Worth watching, but the story & music are definately below the original OVA.
Anubis Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I thought 2040 was great for the first half, then it got wierd. Wierd enough to be different, but still pretty good. The ending severely pissed me off though. If 2041 happens then maybe I'll feel better overall about it.
