  5. I happened to stumble across this bit of animation the other day and was wondering if anyone knew where its from!? It only runs for a few seconds but its still crazy awesome!! I noticed it runs a bit faster than normal whilst displayed here but you can still see it clearly enough..
  6. Came across a great little animated short that has some really mind blowing aerial dog fighting animation that probably a lot of Macross fans will appreciate. Film is called "Paths of Hate". Link below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjXr9Nj5ZbI Enjoy.

  9. Hi guys, This is the closest forum I can think of to off topic on Macrossworld, so hope no one takes offence to it. I really need some help spreading news of a project outside of Sweden, especially in English speaking parts of the world. To those who remember my work on the Homeworld and Homeworld 2 total conversion mods in the Fan Works section, amongst various other fan works projects, I have been away from the community for a good few years, busy getting my degree in 3D animation. Now I have started an indie animation studio and I am trying to crowdfund some short films for a new media series called Duffton Friends. I could use some help spreading the word and gaining traction outside my country of residence, Sweden. It is not Macross, but it is animation, and by someone that loves Macross. I’d appreciate the help. Show some love, and I’ll do some Macross modelling on the side and release my work to any aspiring 3D modellers out there. The Indiegogo Link The Website Prototype Short Film
  10. So I liked avatar last airbender...and I stress "liked" I wasn't giant fan, but appreciated the show. Now that The Legend of Korra has aired, I'm liking it a whole lot more and thought the first 2 episodes were great. The art style and animation has been knocked up. I'm sure animation quality may drop in later episodes. No review here, other than to make some people aware to check it out if they had any interest in avatar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-_EoE0JMhE
  11. Here's a little animation that I did using my recently completed vf-11b model. Why did I create a new thread instead of posting in the previous one? Coz I'm an attention horse. Plus I'd like to have a separate discussion on the animation alone instead of talking about the model and I plan to make more short, short sequences so I'll just dump them here. And I'm an attention horse. Spent quite a bit of time animating the individual control surfaces, although they're far from accurate coz I didn't do enough research. Comments are much appreciated! Watch it in HD too.
  12. Couldn't find a thread about this series, so does anybody else watch this? Some really great stuff. Simple, but nice art direction. Funny writing; lots of laughs to be had. If you don't know the show is about the adventures of a human kid (possibly the last human) named Finn the Human, and his sidekick Jake the Dog. They live in the magical Land of Ooo (which is actually a post-apocalyptic Earth). Oh, and Jake is a magical dog. And Finn is hots for Princess Bubblegum, who is a princess made of bubblegum. Then there's the thousand year old vampire Marceline the Vampire Queen, who is a cool rocker chick. There's Beemo, Finn's sentient video game system. And there's Dr. Princess, but she's not really a princess; Princess is just a surname. I'll stop gushing about it. But really, it's my favorite thing on TV at the moment.
  13. The second batch of the season 6 episodes will start in June on Comedy Central. Prepare to laugh, cry, and throw up apparently this summer. Hope you have a strong stomach for this. Also, more good news everyone! The voice actors have been hinting that the series has been picked up for additional seasons, but today I think it's becoming more likely. 14. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Toys coming from Bandai: http://www.poeghostal.com/2010/06/thundercats-toys-coming-from-bandai.html It looks like it's going to look more like a Japanese property.
  15. Two week ago Adult Swim had advertised Escaflowne will be airing on the 10th of September, so I thought they were bringing the series onto Adultswim after it was unceramoniously taken off Fox saturday morning lineup a long time ago. Anyway when I saw it took a different take on the show, the characters were all there but the way it started from beginning to end was completely different it's like a retelling of the series, in turn Mr. Kawamorii pulled a DYRL with Escaflowne. All in all I liked it, when escaflowne appeared with Hitomi in it, It looked more organic than mechanical and the characters had opposite roles than the ones in the series. If anyone who was fortunate enogh to stay awake to see it what's your take on it, yay or nay?
  16. I'd recently gotten my grubby lil hands on vol 1 of the Rurouni Kenshin graphic novel by Shonen Jump and Viz. I have to say that this is one excellent series. The mix of romantic comedy and swordwielding action make for one excellent read. I really loved the creator's blending of Japanese history with his own fiction as well as the fact that Kenshin was based off an actual person from their history. This combined with seeing The Last Samurai made December a great month in '03 for me. Bad thing is it makes me yearn to further add to my collection of samurai swords. I am, however, interested about the plausibility of Kenshin's weapon. The sakabatou, or reverse-edged sword, seems like it'd be possible to create and wield efficiently. Just from look alone, it would appear that it would weigh more than your typical samurai sword. I tried swinging my sword reversed, with the sharp edge towards me, and I could already feel the difference. Anyone's opinion on the matter?
