  1. Hey guys, just saw this over the weekend and was blown away by it. I wanted to spread the word about this production as I found it very well done. It's done in a "documentary" style and has impressive visual effects that combine some of the JJ Abrams fleet ships but with some TOS touches to them. THE STORY "Axanar takes place 21 years before the events of Where no Man Has Gone Before. It tells the story of Garth of Izar, the legendary Starfleet captain who is Captain Kirks hero and the role model for a generation of Starfleet officers. Garth charted more planets than any other Captain and was the hero of the Battle of Axanar. His exploits are required reading at Starfleet Academy. This is the story of Garth and his crew during the Four Years War, the war with the Klingon Empire that almost tore the Federation apart, and whose resolution solidified the Federation and allowed it to become the entity we know in Kirk's time. It is the year 2245, four years into the war with the Klingons." Check it out here! Edit: new link to current fundraiser. Link has all videos in it including Prelude to Axanar. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/star-trek-axanar/x/11444193#/story Chris
  2. Saw this on another forum and thought it was quite funny. Thought I'd share. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kGxnCzIHGa8&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DkGxnCzIHGa8 Chris
  3. Anyone planning to get these? Info: http://startrek-starships.com/usa/index.asp I have the first three issues and ships on the way. I've seen photos on the web of the finished goods and they look very nice and detailed! (especially the -D). They plan on releasing lots of ships. Hope we get a Steamrunner someday .
  4. "Star Trek: Renegades is a fan created project to create a pilot for a new Star Trek series. Several former Star Trek actors will appear, including Walter Koenig, Garrett Wang and J. G. Hertzler. Tim Russ will appear and direct the pilot. Funding was successfully sought for production during 2012 through Kickstarter and additional funding was raised through Indiegogo in 2013 The pilot will be set nearly ten years after the end of Star Trek: Voyager. The head of Section 31 sends a motley crew of outcasts to intervene when the planet Reuel VII is isolated from outside contact through unnatural means. Reuel VII is the main source of dilithium for the Federation, requiring them to gain access to the planet once more at all cost." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Renegades First post-production teaser: What do you think of project?
  5. I'm highly surprised there's no STO thread on here (forgive me if there is, I did a search and didn't find anything). This game rocks! I'm in the open beta and I have to say I'm very pleased. http://www.startrekonline.com/ There's a lot of extremely nerdy fanbois (mostly fans of the flowery "let's make friends with everyone" TNG era) who are saying it's "not real Star Trek" because there's "very little diplomacy" which isn't really true but oh well. The game has a strong TOS/TMP/DS9/VOY feel to it which I enjoy quite a bit. The basics of the plot are that it's 2409, Romulus has been destroyed, the Federation is still picking up the pieces, and the Undine (Species 8472) have been using their shape-shifting powers to create havoc in the Federation, culminating in the dissolution of the peace treaties between the Klingon Empire (now including the Gorn bent on galactic takeover, the Orions and the Nausicaans) and the Federation resulting in a very TMP like state where the two superpowers are "almost at war" and generally very hostile to each other. The Romulans are building their military and trying to reconstruct their Empire so they can join in on the fun, and then you have the Cardassians just waiting for a chance on the other side of the wormhole, and finally the Borg always present to just cause trouble. The Federation and the Klingons are currently playable, with the Romulans definitely being added later and more options being explored. All in all it's pretty good. This is my current ship, the U.S.S. Crozier, NCC-91848, a Constitution II-class Cruiser obviously. I don't have any shots of my Miranda-class Light Cruiser (the starter ship) named the U.S.S. Arkhangelesk unfortunately, but I assume most people know what the Miranda-class looks like. The game has a really cool ship customization system. Vostok 7
