Whats Lying on your Workbench MKIII
Ghost Train replied to HWR MKII's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The Kawamori valks gundams for some reason are also my favorites.... -
1/60 VF-1A 2.0 1/60 SV-51 Ivanov ... and that's it
-
Looks promising, though even in the trailer the animation quality was inconsistent.
-
But can he curve a bullet?
-
It is not, it is loosely based on a 1978 Italian movie with the english title: Inglorious Bastards... very loosely based. Ben Affleck's character volunteers to serve in the RAF (prior to Pearl Harbor), he is in NY at at the time, and his departure scene takes place on a train station . I mean it's implied that he gets on a boat at some point in time, but the scene is often used an example of how they tried to over-dramatize things in the flick.

Typical early-20's person:
-
It's like: MACROSS-1941
-
Or Pearl Harbor (2001), which proved that it's possible to travel from the US to England on a train.
-
Lol, I think it's "weathering" and not battle damage... technically nothing looks like it's shot up .
-
It's a thinly veiled "whatcouldhavebeen" of the Halo movie.
-
That is why we have internet forums, to indoctrinate guide people into the light. But seriously, I notice this more and more especially with younger people. They just have zero curiosity to look stuff up, and are accustomed to having everything delivered on a silver platter to them.

I have had to follow this story for a final project I'm doing for my finance class, so I can summarize what I've read thus far (note, these aren't necessarily my opinions ): Pro's of more procurement: -100+ of the best damm aircraft ever made. -Continued unmatched air superiority over the next few decades. -More manufacturing jobs in communities that support Raptor production Con's: -F-35 is cheaper (duh) -The marginal benefit of additional raptors do not help the existing missions in Afghanistan and any exit activities for Iraq -The government is not awash in cash right now, and is looking to cut stuff... and since the F-35 is cheaper, there you go The other interesting stuff I've gathered is that Japan has expressed a strong interest in the F-22, and that it might be possible to get around the export ban by selling the raptor with some critical components removed... though this is really a long shot. Israel, Australia, and some other countries have also expressed interest in the aircraft as previously stated by other posts.

Well, it's official, no more near-term procurement for the F-22: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32028667/ns/us_news-military/ . Lockheed still benefits from a spending increase in the F-35 program.

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
Ghost Train replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It's that good huh? .... I watched a few eps of Gurren Lagan when it aired here in the US on scifi channel, but I think it was the last few eps so I was totally lost. The art style was really something though. -
Thx mog, that was what I was looking for, and sorry to other posters, I'm not too terribly familiar with the 19's engineering as I have yet to own one .... I had just read somewhere that the wings "could be swept back."
-
Hmm... so they don't sweep completely?
-
Guys & Gals... I have a little request. Can someone post a top-> down pic of a yammie 1/60 YF-19 with the wings fully swept back? Doesn't have to be high quality, just wanted to see it as a reference for a project. Thanks.

I voted for Isamu: the guy singlehandedly infiltrated the most fortified outpost known at that time - Earth's defense grid, then proceeded to duel against a brain-controlled valk flown via the mind, dodged a hail of AA fire from Sharon Apple, before he could rescue Myung... and to top it off the YF-19 still looked relatively ok following that whole ordeal. I give Basara runner-up, singing and flying at the same time is no easy matter.

Now, I want to clarify that I didn't mean there would be no pvp at all (It's a MMO after all), I just think that the bulk of the content will be PvE with perhaps arena-style PvP, I contrast this with EVE which is overwhelmingly PvP with some minor PvE elements. The other justification I see is that the game is leveraging the extensive amount of SW lore, hence it would make sense for you to do quest, run missions etc, for well known SW factions, as opposed to making the game a gank-sandbox where you just run around grieffing people. I'm of course just speculating as they're still working on it, but my guess is about 90% PvE / 10% PvP, from my semi-extensive MMO experience.

Trailer shows extensive NPC interaction, the extensive voice-over thing is one of its main selling points after all. There seem to be missions/quests/objectives/ etc, and from the story perspective: the Sith Empire and the Republic seem to be locked in some sort of cold-war- but not at war hence no impetus or reason to actually have a Sith fight a Jedi, but who knows where they'll take that angle. I really didn't see any actual pvp combat, the enemies in the trailer seem to have generic cannon fodder names ie. Imperial Trooper, Droid, etc. I've sort of burned out of the pure PvP style play of EVE. Playing an quest (hence PvE) based game might be a good change of pace.
-
It really looks like a PvE-fest for now, which I guess isn't completely bad. I'm really interested in the remaining job classes. For the Republic, I assume the trooper will be some sort of tanking job, whereas Smuggler will be a rogue/thief type character. They are probably missing some sort of healer which will be the 3rd job... I would have speculated that the 4th job will be Jedi Knight, though I'm thinking that won't be the case because then everyone would pretty much want to be that job (unless the game is balanced so that a Jedi gets pwnd without proper support). It would be cooler if Jedi/Sith is more of an attribute rather than an actual class, such that a trooper, smuggler, bounty hunter etc, can become a force-practitioner.

I was taught at an elite business school to never ever apologize, and always find a way to blame others. -

On this other forum I go to, they setup a special section simply called, "Flame Wars," where you are quite welcome to start inflammatory threads, flame, insult, and degrade yourself all you want.... as long as it's in that section only. We should seriously have something similar here. -
That FA-RX-78-7 looks so tactical... beam rifle shaped like a RL FN-2000 too.

Well I try my best to not take animu in general very seriously .
