  1. Just like ruskii said, Valks are ladies, (pretty expensive, pretty) ladies. And after living in Japan for 14years you learn the best ways to display toys in "brace for shock" positions.
  2. Sorry to hear about that 1/48 bro hope you can get her repaired.
  3. You might start a new thread with that pose, "The VF toe touching picture gallery" "Now shake them dice and roll 'em!!!"

    1/48 Fast Packs?

Well there's Overdrive HK collectibles, image anime, and try the"for sale" section here too.

    1/48 Fast Packs?

Try hobbylink japan, angloz, bigbadtoys, or ebay just to name a few.
  6. I get that but at the price these toys are going at it is a faster/less painful way to get one and they do come with decals/stickers right? Also you could pm one of the customizers here and ask to have it done also. Just a thought
  7. Ditto, in a few months maybe sooner.
  8. Here's a thought, are those vf-1S kits the right shade of white or not? I mean if they are then you could make one for cheaper the cost of buying it completed. Just my humble 2cents.
  9. So far so good on mine legs stay on firm and stable
  10. Yeah sure and at the end and afew more shots of it doing a dynamic pose, like it'sgetting ready to fire.
  11. I think the 19 would look bad ass in a gray low viz color like the 1/48's did. And my friend you just did even more justice.
  12. That is love for one's craft if ever I saw it! That bird is hands down amazing. A true masterpiece. But I would hate to be the crewman who had to pull the all-nighter to get it back in the air! Hell they should give the pilot a VF-1S and a promotion cause it looks as if they gave as good as he/she got.
  13. Yeah, ya gotta love the inlaws, for if not for them ya would'nt have yer own slice of heaven that the wife be.
  14. Sure it may not be true 1/60, but think of the space you save with it being a bit smaller in your dispaly case/dioramas. To me the size and price are easy pickn's to slowly build an army with, hell all I want are two more. But if they could articulate the knee just a little (while keeping the swivel), it could make for better poses. Then I think it would be worth a few more bucks in sales if done well and reasonably sturdy. In the meantime if anybody comes up with a mod/custom to the knees I'm all ears.
  15. It seems to me that these guys know a good team when they see one and hopefully will bet on this new horse for the future. But I will wait and see if there will be a V2.5 or a V3 VF-25 cause I dolike the valk but its hard to feel good about buying it just yet. I don't expect perfection, just improvment if Bandai is willing to go forward and do so.
  16. Well ill be dipped, I never looked there when I lived in Yokosuka but the wife used to shop there from time to time. How are the prices compared to the e-tailers online?
  17. Yup that's about the size of it, sort a nickname/slang type of phrase for us anime/manga/video game/ etc. etc. . . enthuisast types/geeks. No offense guys   Also bones see if you can get a MAC flight over to Atsgui and hit up Tokyo, it will make one hell of a shopping spree. By the way does Toys r us Japan still carry Yamato valks in stores? B))
  18. Now I never said my collection was neat, I just said it was stowed well. Trust me if you looked my gallery you would be amazed I could find any of my stuff. I clean it like once evry three months or when I get new toys but that's it. No OCD here pal. I just don't have the time.
  19. If you've got the cash to spare go to a sporting goods store and pick up a few good sized tackle boxes, the kind with shelves and removeable "mini" boxes to boot. Saves a lot more space than the old shoe boxes and you can sort them by scale/toy types/series. And no worries aboout paint chips either. Also, for the instruction books go grab a few three ring binders and the clear pocket holder inserts like the kind you'd use for those old high school book reports. Then you can store the boxes in the garage in old moving boxes or boxes you can get from COSTCO/Sam's Club. As you can guess this is how my collection keeps growing.
  20. Ya know I won't lie it was my pleasure to serve. Hell, with 11 years in Japan, coming home with a beautiful wife, 3 pretty cool kids, 2 cats, and garage full of toys/model parts it was worth every mintue!
  21. Like a lot of guys here staring watching Robotech as a kid (around '84 to '86). Fell in love with it from the start, I kinda thought it was three shows put together. (But never really got the hard evidence till much later in life around the time Mac Plus released.) Loved the macross saga as it was billed to the point that I begged and begged for "Jetfire" cause I knew it was a "Valk", never got it hoped and wished each year though. Alas nobody else listened to me then I scoerd a VHS copy of "Clash of the Bioroids" when it first came out. Turns out it was a cheap edited dub of DYRL, and it became my most prized possesion. Sure I collected Transformers, GI joe, HE Man, Centurions, Starcom, Air Raiders, Captain Power, Go Bots, and another of my faves M.A.S.K. (and anything else mom said was cool). But the top 4 were always Macross, TF's, GI Joe, MASK, in that order. Although growing up in Detroit there was NO Macross and Jetfire was either sold out or too expensive. So after high school I joined the Navy and reluctantly (at first) got shipped off to Japan. After 1 month of being dumb/bored, one of the guys I worked with wanted to watch a flick so I popped in "clash". And as we watched it I had an epiphany/duh/moment of clarity. . . . . "You moron you are in the Damn country where this came from, hit the streets and find the toys stores and ship it home! ! ! " And so began the quest. . . But as luck would have it I only found one macross valk, VF-1S MISB for 8000Yen and me that day with no cash to buy it. So I tried to get owner to hold it for me but when I got back the next week she was gone. Around that time Mac + was being released and I almost bought the laser disks but couldn't, no player. So settled for what model kits I could find, and built them when the ship (USS INDEPENDENCE CV-62 by the way) was at sea. Little did I know there were a lot of "otakus" and modelers on board, so when I got back in homeport I got pulled all over Yokouska, Yokohama, Shinagawa and Tokyo. (Mind you not for just toys and models but the clubs too.) By this time Macross 7 was on tv, but when you live on a ship ya don't quite get to sit down an enjoy what you want to watch with putting it to a vote (a rather large vote at that). So it fell unto my ladyfriends to hook me up with a place to stay and watch when I could, (ohh thank goodness for those lovely ladies and the fact I'm a pretty good cook). One day in my travels, I found an M7 Bandai VF-19S toy emerald force toy at a store and a ton of the 1/144 kits. So I hoarded them like gold in my shop on the ship. Soon after I was back into the ladies so Macross took an 8 month hiatus while I wooed my at the time girlfriend (now my lovely wife). As I moved some things to our apartment before we got married I noticed the toys and models I had on the ship and moved them in too. She noticed the stuff and right away called me an "OTAKU" while laughing her ass off. But soon she realized that she too was an otaku her passions were and always will be Fire King dishes, Pingu and Totoro. Fast forward 13 years, 3 kids, 3 ships, 1 tour of shore duty, and literaly thousands of dollars in toys later and she knows its not going to stop anytime soon. Now I'm out driving trucks for a living. Macross is my thing and I'm hooked for the long haul.
  22. Well here's to hoping it doesn't stay that way for too long. And when the license does change hands we can only hope it will be for the better. Also I would love to buy the VF-5000.
  23. Same here, But what I would really like to see is a stealth version, not exactly all black but a darker color than the VF-11B.
  24. You sir beat me to it but yeah I had the game way back when, it was one of the reasons I bought a Dreamcast in the first place But just give it time someone here is probably working on a custom set as we speak. . .
  25. I thought Max flew one in the M3 game on dreamcast too. .
