As the title of this post is "VF-1", I assume your looking for something from DYRL or SDFM. Go with the 1/48. There is no way you could be disappointed. Unless you don't like freaking huge, transformable, bad ass robots

I just saw on the news that the Toyko Toy Show is this weekend. Has anyone ever been to past ones, or know anything about this one? Can I expect to see some Macross stuff??

Speaking of Chunkies

I grew up in the 80's a huge fan of Robotech and had never seen any Chunkies. I didn't even know they existed. However when I started collecting Macross toys a couple years ago, I instantly fell in love with them. I have no idea why. Some guys may go for chunky girls, and I guess some guys tend to go for chunky robots. This may be why there is such a divide over the new Bandai DX's. I have some Yamatos back in the states, but I can wait to get a real Bandai or Takatoku valk. The only 1/55s I have are jetfires and some spare heads. Every week I go into the Mandarake shop in Akiba and stare at the Super Ostrich and other Takatokus. Can't wait to save up some cash (>.<) Edit: Does that mean I haven't even come "half circle" and will eventually toss the Chunkies in favor of my Yamatos, only to regret it later?

That 1J CF really is a beauty. And it makes a great looking complement to the 1D

Personally, I'm excited about new variations. Since when have limited armor and color variations been a bad thing. If you don't want it, don't get it. But the ability to do so is nice.

So am I the only person that sleeps with their valkryies? Seriously though, keep at least a couple of the 1/48s. Unless you are only focused on getting complete and current sets, you will regret selling them off later. And the new 1/60s are cheap enough that you can pretty much trade used 1/48s in for them.

Get the Super-O thats coming out in a month or two. Unique and looks sweet.

Check the for sale thread and see what prices people are asking for for 1/48s and new 1/60 valks. It's hardly half price, or else I'd be there to buy them. And if you are talking about v.1 1/60, those are an old out dated model.

My point was that the government would have to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to research and build it, and then it would likely just crash, killing the pilot. And you would still need ground soldiers. Can you imagine the US occupying the middle east in giant robots? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for massive robots - thats one reason I live in Japan.

First of all, you need to use some punctuation. I'm not trying to be picky, but that is one long-ass sentence. Second, we can't even built a reliable flying car yet. I don't think we have anywhere near the technology to make a transforming robotic fighter plane. The costs would be insane, and there is no real incentive for anyone to make one. What would you actually need a plane that can transform into a robot for? Other than it would be extremely sweet to park in the office parking lot, crush cars, pick up babes.... well, I guess there are a few uses for one, but none of them so practical.
