  1. Whoa, just realized, was that a "second" New Macross Class in the Frontier fleet? It showed both the Frontier still attached to Island 1, but also showed a NMC ship out in front with the rest of the fleet. We also got a side view of an NMC cruising by itself during the defold of the NUNS fleet into the Vajra system. Multiple NMCs (or City ships for that matter) is not unprecedented of course, but it comes as a surprise to me, given that we've not seen multiple NMCs in the Frontier fleet up until this point.

Believe you're mistaken when you say there was one still attached to Island 1. I only see one, (not counting the split second shot of Battle Galaxy) and it's the one that's ahead of the fleet. It appears to be further back when its defolding with the rest of the fleet, then is up ahead of it in the next shot, but I don't see anything indicating there was ever more than one.

  2. It wasn't said what it stands for, therefore the odds of all English words that starts with EX against the one word you have chosen mean that I have likely won this discussion B))

Personally, I think the EX on the VF-171EX means "custom model" :p

    FV

I'll admit defeat once it's proven I'm wrong. I believe the EX is the same as in EXtender Gear, because the machine has been upgraded and made compatible with said gear.

  3. You know... it just occurred to me that we keep thinking of the Vajra in the plural. But really, there is only one Vajra (a she, maybe?). Maybe that's who Bilra wants to meet: Ms. Vajra. Because she's just so magnificent.

If you think of the Vajra in the singular, the defense of what seems to be their homeworld takes on a whole new dimension, too. If you take out the queen, the Vajra effectively cease to exist (since they apparently have this central node holding it all together), just like a bullet to the brain would do a human individual. If you were the only one of your kind, I think you'd fight even harder to survive, too.

Perhaps. But I haven't completely bought that the Vajra are completely without any form of sentience without the queen. Young Ai-kun comes to mind. Anyway, we'll find out who Bilra's date is soon...

  4. Well actually, Grace herself may be being manipulated by the Galaxy executive even as we speak... she's crazy, right? She might be too focused on her final goal to realize that her bosses are preparing to stab her in the back. I'm sorta rooting for Grace, if it comes to that. :)

So that really would just leave Quarter, then.

The possibility exists, just as it exists that she is manipulating Galaxy. Though the former is more likely. And I suppose you could possibly add Bilra to the list as well. Wonder who it is he wants to meet...

  5. I rewatch the scene, and there is a considerable amount of time between he getting hit first time, the fighter going around the carrier and Klan's help. it is also odd that he didn't fire when coming back from going around the carrier. Still the only thing we can be sure is that he ain't dead.

He's also got his EX-gear (it's called VF-171EX for a reason...) so he's far from helpless if he abandons the craft. And he's going to be piloting a VF-25 the last episode. It will happen.

  6. I doubt guilt was what caused Ranka's actions. After all she gets the Seed Slave Mode pupil-less eyes. I believe Grace is already subconciously controlling Ranka like a sort of hypnosis. Even Brera under Grace's slave mode control is saying "we're defending our home , you are the intruders" while fighting Alto and the Frontier.

Brera also told Ranka "That's right. Now protect it, Ranka. This beautiful planet. That will be your atonement. This is surely what mother would have wanted too."

Of course that felt more or less like Grace speaking through him though.

  7. From the main site:

    バジュラたちとの決死の攻防を繰り返すクォーター。

    しかしバジュラを操る新たな存在が現れ、

    フロンティアの居住区アイランドワンは危機に瀕する。

    敵母艦に向かうバトルフロンティア。

    その時、戦艦のステージに現れたシルエットがあった・・・

Believe its identical to what was posted before from magazine scans, except with an added line that reads "

However, a new existence that was manipulating the Vajra appeared...

    "

Given that we saw a brief splitt-second shot of

    Battle Galaxy

in episode 24, my money is on it being that ^_^

  8. Well, in the flashback Brera told Ranka that her song called the Vajra and after that I don't know what are they discussing. Need sub fast, since I think most of the plot are revealed in the first 10 minutes into the episode.

Funny that most people know Mao Nome from the movie while failed recognizing Dr.Mao Nome as the same person  .

Another thing, if Ozma as part of the original 117th fleet military, he should have known Grace, yet he look surprised when he learned the name from Cathy/Canaria.

He was also berating himself for not having noticed that she had gotten onto Frontier.
