Whoa, just realized, was that a "second" New Macross Class in the Frontier fleet? It showed both the Frontier still attached to Island 1, but also showed a NMC ship out in front with the rest of the fleet. We also got a side view of an NMC cruising by itself during the defold of the NUNS fleet into the Vajra system. Multiple NMCs (or City ships for that matter) is not unprecedented of course, but it comes as a surprise to me, given that we've not seen multiple NMCs in the Frontier fleet up until this point.
Believe you're mistaken when you say there was one still attached to Island 1. I only see one, (not counting the split second shot of Battle Galaxy) and it's the one that's ahead of the fleet. It appears to be further back when its defolding with the rest of the fleet, then is up ahead of it in the next shot, but I don't see anything indicating there was ever more than one.

Part of it survived a fricken planet eating dimension eater....

Ride Armor
Sadly the joke is lost on me
Wut's Ride Armor?

It wasn't said what it stands for, therefore the odds of all English words that starts with EX against the one word you have chosen mean that I have likely won this discussion
Personally, I think the EX on the VF-171EX means "custom model"
FV
I'll admit defeat once it's proven I'm wrong. I believe the EX is the same as in EXtender Gear, because the machine has been upgraded and made compatible with said gear.

You know... it just occurred to me that we keep thinking of the Vajra in the plural. But really, there is only one Vajra (a she, maybe?). Maybe that's who Bilra wants to meet: Ms. Vajra. Because she's just so magnificent.
If you think of the Vajra in the singular, the defense of what seems to be their homeworld takes on a whole new dimension, too. If you take out the queen, the Vajra effectively cease to exist (since they apparently have this central node holding it all together), just like a bullet to the brain would do a human individual. If you were the only one of your kind, I think you'd fight even harder to survive, too.
Perhaps. But I haven't completely bought that the Vajra are completely without any form of sentience without the queen. Young Ai-kun comes to mind. Anyway, we'll find out who Bilra's date is soon...

I think you guys are forgetting the most important part when analyzing the album scene...
Is that a final production 1/60 Bandai VF-25F?
Think its the 1/72 that was released recently...
-
The "Ex" in Ex-Gear stands for "extender" though
FV
Yes? Was the EX on the VF-171EX said to be for something else? If not I stand with my previous statement.

Well actually, Grace herself may be being manipulated by the Galaxy executive even as we speak... she's crazy, right? She might be too focused on her final goal to realize that her bosses are preparing to stab her in the back. I'm sorta rooting for Grace, if it comes to that.
So that really would just leave Quarter, then.
The possibility exists, just as it exists that she is manipulating Galaxy. Though the former is more likely. And I suppose you could possibly add Bilra to the list as well. Wonder who it is he wants to meet...

I rewatch the scene, and there is a considerable amount of time between he getting hit first time, the fighter going around the carrier and Klan's help. it is also odd that he didn't fire when coming back from going around the carrier. Still the only thing we can be sure is that he ain't dead.
He's also got his EX-gear (it's called VF-171EX for a reason...) so he's far from helpless if he abandons the craft. And he's going to be piloting a VF-25 the last episode. It will happen.

That's my opinion, too. Here's a better picture
Been discussed some in the mecha thread. It's pretty clear that it is a NMC, what with the design of the left shoulder and gun turrets like those on Frontier.
-
Exactly, Ranka was manipulated. Grace deliberately chose this song against Sheryl. She said "no better song can fit this situation."
Super Ostrich
Same thing can be said for Frontier and Sheryl as well. By this point the only ones not being manipulated for sure is the Quarter and Grace herself.

REAL, what 'bout my star!
AHAHAHAHA~~~
You know, there's a thread for these kind of videos. And it isn't the news thread
Ah well it was still funny
-
-
If that was R.I.P., then whose signature is that?
I believe it reads "STRIP", Sheryl is the "S", then "TRIP". You could actually see part of the "T". Or Sheryl TRIP. Whatever that means
Don't see a T there at all. It clearly says R.I.P
Not buying it though.

Yay, the BGM I wanted most is on it. I wont be satisfied until they release OST 3 though. So many tracks and songs that need releasing...
EDIT: Make that the two BGM's I wanted most.
-
I doubt guilt was what caused Ranka's actions. After all she gets the
SeedSlave Mode pupil-less eyes. I believe Grace is already subconciously controlling Ranka like a sort of hypnosis. Even Brera under Grace's slave mode control is saying "we're defending our home , you are the intruders" while fighting Alto and the Frontier.Brera also told Ranka "That's right. Now protect it, Ranka. This beautiful planet. That will be your atonement. This is surely what mother would have wanted too."
Of course that felt more or less like Grace speaking through him though.

Ohh that is some info!
New Battle 7 to the rescue?
Really don't think we'll see three NMC's in the finale. 2 + Quarter is enough for me anyhow

From the main site:
バジュラたちとの決死の攻防を繰り返すクォーター。
しかしバジュラを操る新たな存在が現れ、
フロンティアの居住区アイランドワンは危機に瀕する。
敵母艦に向かうバトルフロンティア。
その時、戦艦のステージに現れたシルエットがあった・・・
Believe its identical to what was posted before from magazine scans, except with an added line that reads "
However, a new existence that was manipulating the Vajra appeared...
"
Given that we saw a brief splitt-second shot of
Battle Galaxy
in episode 24, my money is on it being that
-
The bridge looks just like the VF-27 head. Lol.
Not really. Lost track of how many differences I can spot on the bridge/head alone. Granted the color scheme IS identical, so when I first saw the split second shot of it, I *did* think it was the VF-27. Anyway, the Bridge does appear kind of large, but its difficult to tell due to the extremity of the closeup.
-
That is the shoulder of a NMC if i ever saw one.
You are quite right at that... the more I look at it, the more details I make out. Bridge is rather unorthodox, but then again that's kind of expected. I'm dying to see a full shot of this guy.

Eh? I tot brera just said "Ranka, look!"
Was there more?
When he had shoved her into the escape pod:
"Ill be right after you... You musn't tell anyone! That it was your song that called them!"
-
Well, in the flashback Brera told Ranka that her song called the Vajra and after that I don't know what are they discussing. Need sub fast, since I think most of the plot are revealed in the first 10 minutes into the episode.
Funny that most people know Mao Nome from the movie while failed recognizing Dr.Mao Nome as the same person .
Another thing, if Ozma as part of the original 117th fleet military, he should have known Grace, yet he look surprised when he learned the name from Cathy/Canaria.
He was also berating himself for not having noticed that she had gotten onto Frontier.
-
Isn't the Vajra motives is to get Ranka as their little queen?
He's talking about Grace's motive. Turning the Vajra into nigh unkillable beasts capable of shrugging of reaction warheads, people better do as she says, or else, type of deal.
-
I realize it's kinda jumping ahead of things by calling it the Battle Galaxy. All we do know is that it's a large ship, it has a bridge and is armed and is the same color as Galaxy. It could jus as easily be the Galaxy itself, and there is no transforming Battle Galaxy on it.... but who am I kidding? It's got Macross in its name, it has to transform, right?
