Ok, so, how does Ranka know Aimo? How did she learn the song?

Oh that's obvious. Ranshe. How Ranshe learned it? From the Vajra is my guess.

So, did Alto choose Sheryl or not? In episode 24 I was given the impression that Alto had chosen Sheryl. Going off Lunar's subs, Alto said "A person can't fly alone. He mustn't fly alone. Now that I understand that...." Then Sheryl makes a statement about how dense he is and that they should stop pretending to be lovers.... Alto reacts as if he were going to correct Sheryl...then the kiss happens. We all know Sheyrl's feelings for Alto...so I don't think she'd just step aside when Alto seems to have shown some feelings for her in the past. I'd think that Sheryl would 'fight' (for lack of better wording) for Alto's love...to the end. It seemed to me that Sheyrl knew were Alto's feelings were and was okay with them...telling Alto to go save Ranka. To me it seems Alto chose Sheyrl.

Now, I don't know how to speak Japanese...and there aren't any subtitled versions of episode 25 out yet. But going off just what I saw...I'm a little confused. It's at about 11 mins and 30 seconds that I'm confused as to where the triangle is going. I don't know if Sheyrl was conceding to Ranka because she knew she was going to die or what was really going on there. I keep reading that it's a harem ending...but are we all really sure? I wish I could understand Japanese! I'm taking a class to learn it...but I'm nowhere near being able to understand it like that! I wish a sub would come out already!

Moreover, I love the nod to Macross II! Sheyrl the "emulator" for the NUNS, Ranka the "emulator" for the Vajra (at first).

I'd say it's still up in the air. Wait for the movie for a definate conclusion to the LT... Just don't rage at me if it turns out it doesn't give one either

Maybe this has been discussed elsewhere, but doesn't one of the vessels located at the rear of the Macross 11 fleet look like a Three-Star class ship?

Believe you're right about that. Also, Macross 11 kind of looks like a predecessor to the island cluster class of colonization vessels. Is it me or is the Three-Star connected to the City block like an island as well? Scale seems to be comparable to Macross 7, so it's a lot smaller than Frontier. Also wondering what those the blue spires are...

I just finished watching the episode a couple of minutes ago (in other words, I haven't read all the comments here yet), but HOT DAMN, was that ever awesome!

I actually started tearing up a bit towards the end (strange, I know)...but then burst out laughing at the "Macross Attack."

Anyway, it's been quite a ride, and I'm happy with where the story ended. Even if we never see Alto, Ranka, and Sheryl again...I'm satisfied.

'Course, if they want to give us more...I wouldn't say no.

Hmmm...and the Galaxy looks like it has articulated fingers too, compared to Battle Frontier and MQuarter. To me it looked like an oversized VF-27

All NMC carriers have hands with articulated fingers, Battle Frontier included. I seem to recall that Quarter has a hand too in the arm with the flight deck, it uses to support its main cannon when firing.

After watching the final episode my mouth is WATERING for a Frontier Designworks.

What're the chances of this happening?

We see Sakamoto Maaya credited for the vocals of the Nyannyan service medley along with Nakajima and May'n. Given that I don't recall hearing her anywhere else, I can only assume that means that rendition of Aimo is part of the medley. So based on VA... not Minmay, but I doubt it was Ranshe either. My guess is it was the Vajra themselves. The queen in episode 14 borrowed her voice as well.

the orange one is Dulfim right? with a hollow center, which was the path Brera (and Alto?) went through during the trench run.

IIRC, the greenish one is Kaitos class.

of coz there was some script mistake back in the early episode (ep 6?) when the orange ship folded in and the 2 recon RVF-171s called it a Kaitos..

You're right. Too clarify, I saw 2 green ones as I rewatched the sequence frame by frame.

EDIT: Yeah that's the one. Going by frame by frame you can tell its the same as the other one.

Saw at least 2 Dulfim class and 1 Kaitos class when Alto and Brera were doing that low altitude trench run up to the Vajra Queen (approx 19m+). could be more out there.

Think there's 2 Kaitos classes, and a whole lot of VF-27's. Wouldn't surprise me if the entire Galaxy militairy is there.

One possiblity could be that the Vajra were encountered during the 500.000 years after the Protodeviln were sealed. The PC would have been in shambles by then (less than 15% of their original number being left?), with the rest dissappearing in time as the SA and Zentradi continue to wage war. Believe that in Zero the AFOS is determined to be aproximately 10.000 years old, indicating that a very small number of PC could still have been around by then.

1) Cathy and Ozma are a great couple. Hopefully Cathy will wise up and appreciate that the man who spent lots of time (spying) with her is not the same as the man who loved her and didn't have enough time for her because he was busy trying to save her life.

2) Catharsis. MAJOR Catharsis... a perfect case study in Catharsis. But I will STILL never eat pineapple salad for fear of an untimely death

Just received Frontier DVD # 2 from amazon jp and the booklet has a lot of CG art of the VF-25S, including pictures with dimensions. Hopefully this will settle the height debate.

Note, just like the model kit, the landing gear is supposed to be long.

I take it you mean the original macross vessel since you mention ASS1. ASS1 actually only refers to it pre-restoration. Once rebuilt it's not called ASS1 anymore, but SDF-1 Macross. That's the only definition I know, (not counting "Ship of alus" from Macross II).

Its facing exactly between both bridges. The valkyrie is looking straight ahead.

Ranka's not saluting, but her hand is stretched out to him during the shot where both acknowledge it.

Alto Saluted Sheryl. She responded back with her own salute in the next immediate cut(notice Ranka didn't change her dance motion and follow suit like Sheryl did on Ranka's screen).

His VF stopped between both Bridges. He saluted both.

These are not the answers im looking for, most are you taking your best quess. Which is fine for a few points, since after all its a cartoon.. but this episode had way to many WTF moments with no clear reason how/why it happened.

Heh. You were complaining about not getting the dialouge because of the japanese. But most of your questions have nothing to do with dialouge. The answers that are 'guesses' are how I interpret it based on how it was visually presented. And there was a lot of that going on.

Either Ranshe was asbsorbed into the Vajra conciousness (likely), or the Vajra use Ranshe from Ranka's memories to communicate with her. But either way, it's Ranshe's voice. You'll recall the same voice the first time the Vajra tried to conmunicate with Ranka when they captured her.

Do we have a track list for OST2? Because I really really want that mantage mix, that was so f*cking great. Considering Kawamori has played the Minmay card with Bilner now, even if it was a picture from DYRL (meaning its more likely a movie poster than an actual picture of Minmay), I think we actually can look forward to an explanation of what happened to the Megaraod sometime in the future.

Isnt he in the middle of a battle? Whats up with all that 2001 space odyssey imagery when grace plugs in to the queen? what does that mean? Is it a queen? Is it a bird man? Whats the Zero connection? What happened to leon? What happened to all the vajra after the battle? Why did the vajara just stop attacking frontier? Did ranka control them? Why did they change colors all the time? Why did sheryl change colors all the time? Where is the rest of galaxy fleet? Is grace really dead? Who were the other voices in her head? WTF is up with Dicky B? What is up with Minmay in his locket?

Is it me or did BG hit BF's right arm or gunship? Cuz I see BF punch BG with the right arm and in the end, with the gunship. Either way, I think there's a animation hiccup.

Yes, i believe they took out her gunship. Then BG got doubletagged by Q and BF.

I would personally hold off all comments until after Episode 25.
