Nah I'm more inclined to think Basara is a product of a secret genetic engineering experiment. Which explains why Basara didn't have a family or clear origins. Either a genetic combination of Hikaru Ichijyo and Minmay or Hikaru Ichijyo and Sara Nome. With the blood Dr. Hasford took. Which explains why Basara is Anima Spiritia. Take Aegis Focker for instance. He's blond and Focker like Roy. What are the chances in that? Which makes me think there was a clandestine program hidden in Earth's repopulation effort. The scene looked to me like either a escape pod or a battered battroid. There are two things in common with Brera and Ranka. 1. Both have amnesia. We assume it is caused by trauma but that may not be the case. 2. Both can transmit fold waves. Or else Ai-kun wouldn't have been scurrying when Brera played his harmonica with Aimo. Sheryl could have really been on the 117th fleet.

In Macross Dynamite 7 they split the story between three characters. Basara, Laiza and Mylene. In fact I got the impression Basara was just a supporting role to little Elma. Macross Dynamite 7 wasn't much about the characters of Macross 7 but about the Zolan characters. An interesting concept that there is a third race participating in the alliance of humans and Zentradi. My guess is that Dynamite 7 was a test run for a female pilot protagonist. The botched Macross 3D seems to confirm it.

Twice already with triangles involving guys it becomes Bros before Hoes. Macross Plus was about mending Isamu and Guld's friendship rather than getting the girl. Macross 7 was about Gamlin getting that while he is a fighter pilot, Basara is a singer whose purpose is to sing. As Sheryl said they both have their jobs.

As for the SW1 Band of Destroids the young versions of the retired Monster operators of Macross 7 as background characters.

DYRL does have a beginning just that it is animated in the game. Hikaru isn't a fan jet barnstormer but already a pilot in Skull Squadron with Max and Kakizaki as squad mates.

Space Whales carry bacteria that can kill anybody if they are not immune. If you're wounded on Zola your chances of surviving on the wild without treatment can kill you. Zolans developed strong antiseptics for outsiders. Though the hot spring connected to the whale graveyard does have healing properties. On that note Leon may be willing to kill the goose if there is a Vajra graveyard on that planet.

Since V-type virus exist in real life in the GG sub Luca says it is caused by bacteria. Now the bacteria would be the viral carriers. Initially we thought Macross Zero and the Birdman because of the viral connection and Alpha Bombay blood type. Now the bacteria could be similar to bacteria seen on Galactic Whales. Why? Galactic Whales are fold capable creatures like Vajra. The cure for Sheryl if she can't get it from Ranka is unfortunately at the rim of the galaxy. The planet known as Zola. Zolans are immune to the bacteria carried by the Galactic Whales. Anybody who isn't immune on Zola like humans or Zentradi are in danger of dying if they are wounded. The antibodies is in the Zolans. Not mention Sheryl may have to dip at the life regenerating hot springs of Zola.

So are we getting a season or an OVA about Macross Galaxy? Frontier doesn't seem to have that much time expound on them.

Another colony fleet like Macross Galaxy or a return to Earth and the original Macross would be nice. Perhaps a squadron like the VFX Ravens or Dancing Skulls dealing with rouge Zentradi or Anti-UN in colonies. As for a protagonist after Hime I think I'd rather have spunky girl next time around rather than an angst guy. Frankly I was wondering about what plot line they had on Macross 3D characters Carno and Rolin. From the trailer it was about Zentradi making a new society making a new society.

Next they say is Basara is a Vajra since Basara is a Japanese word for Vajra. Which means both Thunderbolt (VF-11?) and Diamond (Diamond Force?).
