  1. And looking at that pic I have only one thing to say to the VF-25S standing there with it's bent lasers and lack of neck.... 'You make me sad."
  2. I got it from HW Japan when they were having their 20% off all Bandai products sale. It was lucky timing since they only had 2 or 3 of them at the time. So I got it for about 3600 yen (without shipping) instead of 4500.. which in the end ran me a little less than $50. However I imagine they are long sold out, and I know HLJ isn't good with high demand products. I don't know much about other sites like Rainbow Ten or Overdrive (I've heard them referenced a lot) so I can't say much for that. However all of those are for importing, places in the US though? I doubt any but Image Anime would have it in the US, and the fact that Image gets imported things and sells them from New York is probably why they overprice so often since you don't have as much shipping to deal with. If you don't want to import (if any of the import sites had them) then Image might be your best bet for now.
  3. Heh, wouldn't be the first time word play was used against me. Well done .
  4. I am pretty sure Robotech just calls it a Female Power Armor (just like the Ngers are called Male Power Armors). Either way I don't think the name misspelling is a bad thing. Those things can be hard to remember how to spell sometimes.
  5. I think it is ok, could be a lot better, but it isn't the worst thing in the world. So I picked number 3 on that. For second poll.. I am debating currently (as you can see in my sig) whether or not I will get a VF-25G, I wither will or won't so I selected VF-25G AND No. For the third, I like both just fine, but I have always been more partial to the chest area in the end. Everything is good sometimes.
  6. Really.. that is almost about $55 a day give or take how our economy feels like slapping us today. That is some really good minimum wage there. Yeah, the DX isn't horrible.. but it isn't that good either. Don't know if I will get the Michael now... you can see my trying to debate it with myself in my sig below while I go on about how I like the 1/72 VF-25S model.
  7. I might be able to help you VFTF1. I am not a seasoned model builder and definitely no expert but I got the VF-25S model and it turned out quite nicely and I am satisfied. I was also looking to the DX as well but more for Michael VF-25G.... now I'm not sure, will have to see more on it but I am not sure. Regardless, these models are very nice. They do feel brittle at times and I wouldn't want mine to drop from a shelf (I remedy this by not putting it on a shelf, lol) but as far as model kits go this holds together very well. It seems sturdiest in Fighter and Battroid, I have to fight with it a while to get a good pose in Gerwalk, but when I do it usually stays in the pose without any problem. For the build, you do not have to paint anything if you do not want to as you can get it looking pretty good without paint. I did not paint by the way as I don't like going to that much trouble for models (also why I don't really build glue and cement models, I stick to snap fit because that is all I really want to do for a model). The build itself is very straightforward but it will take a while, I split it up into about 2 hours a day for 3 to 4 days just because I didn't want to work on it straight through. It builds into fighter mode and I panel lined it when I had the core components assembled (cockpit, arms, and legs). Without stickers or decals it is very... gray (or white if you go with Alto), the entire thing is all the right gray colors but looks very nice still with panel lines. I chose to do stickers since I'm not experienced with decals and I didn't feel like trying something new with this model but I hear both work out quite well. The stickers were pretty simple, some were difficult to apply though. You'll defined want the help of tweezers. Sometimes the small ones are easier to apply but the really big ones like the main stripes and the skull are easy to do. I only got frustrated with the stickers for the main stabilizers (upper tail fins I mean) and the cuffs for the legs but I got them on. All in all I say it will definitely give you the display piece you want but not much play value. Easy to handle but once transformed I pretty much just leave it there. Ironically when I first built it into fighter mode some parts (like the wing root pieces) seemed loose and didn't want to stay and the shield would always pop off, but now that I've had it go to Gerwalk to battroid, back to gerwalk, and now fighter again... everything is fitting together nicely all of a sudden and it looks great (had to get used to its form maybe). Also you will have a lot of random parts lying around, these things happen, I just keep them lying in the box which I will use for storage when I take this thing back with me to college (I plan to cushion it in the box so it doesn't get tossed around). The excess parts pretty much consist of the pieces that hold the gunpod on in fighter mode which have no use in the other modes, the landing gear if you aren't using them, open panels for the back gear or closed panels for the legs, the various connectors for the action base stand (which I don't have so I ignore them, but I may get a stand so I don't get rid of them), and two sets of hands that aren't in use depending on which you have on the model at the time (they include fighter mode hands, hands for holding gunpod or knife, and open hands for... well just open hands really). Also, the knife can be stored in the shield. So I think it is really good. I am satisfied. It looks great and all I did was build, panel line (with a gundam marker btw, I didn't do wash method), and apply stickers (I am keeping the decal sheet though, just in case). I can take some pictures of mine if you want to see it, let me know though because otherwise I probably won't but I'd be glad to show it off (though if you go back a couple of pages I do show a picture of my battroids head which I posted to make sure I had gotten the neck extended correctly which I now believe is correct). Hope that helps you VFTF1.
  8. Ozma is a man, just the 1/60 scale representation of his Valkyrie fails to realize that, while his model does it and then some (for reference I own the 1/72 Ozma model and am 95% satisfied). I won't deny the bendy head lasers and difficult to see neck (it is there, just doesn't want to be seen) is a bit disappointing, but as far as everything else goes these things are looking pretty good. However I was not planning on getting the F or S. I am waiting on the VF-25G with super packs included, and on that topic that battroid always seemed to have a thicker head laser (mostly because there is only one I bet) so I have more hopes for the stability of that one.
  9. Ok, following up from my last post here is a close up pic of my VF-25S battroid head (the resolution isn't the best but you can see it) so tell me if it looks correct or if I was just imagining a turtle head before... however I must say it looks better now than I remember but it may have just grown on me.
  10. There is a wrong neck piece? I only saw one. Nonetheless I think it is constructed properly. The chest plate is all the way down... maybe it is just my imagination, just compared to some pictures of the model the head on mine looks to be shorter (albeit not as short as the DX like in the joke pic OmegaD3K posted). I find it strange how much the neck stretches up as I haven't had a reason beyond apply head stickers for the neck to move up as far as it does. Maybe I'll take a picture and see if anyone thinks it is strange looking.
  11. I too agree Michael's valk looks great even without fast packs. True eps. 2 and 12 are the only time it doesn't have fast packs. In ep.2 he is hiding behind a building most of the time and the only good look at his battroid is from the adjacent building's window reflection (I'll look to see the whites on it) and in 12 it was in gerwalk the entire time. Yeah I can easily see myself getting Michael's valk, the fast pack make it even more worth it though.
  12. Shouldn't it be the other way around since the core is closer to a super massive black hole and heavy gravity the likes of a black hole tend to cause relative time to slow down?
  13. Agreed I like that super packs are separate but since I have the 25S I might wait for armor packs. On another note, I have transformed my 25S to battroid for the final phase of stickering and I am having some trouble making the head look right. It seems to want to pretend it is the 1/60 in that the head won't stick up very far as if the neck piece is too small. How is the head supposed to be positioned in battroid mode because I can't seem to do it right. Either the entire thing is stretched out or it is dug in to far behind the chest plate.
  14. I think the super packs make it look better truthfully. I'm already set though to want the Michael VF-25G with super packs in March though.
  15. It is no pain March, that is something admirable about your work in fact. If I want small pictures of VFs I can google search and find plenty. However nice big pictures with details and information to go along with them, your site is always the one to which I've turned.
  16. Truthfully it sounds like something I could easily see Mr March trying to add to his site for some reason . However this forum would probably make a good place for that if it was created as some fan collaboration project.
  17. That or Kawamori doesn't have much arm strength.. perhaps he is too used to being a disembodied floating head .
  18. Nothing more exciting than a probability scenario. Shower us in the greatness of your website's collected wisdom Mr. March. I'm not quite sure why I felt like saying something so strange like that... but in truth probability scenarios would be kind of cool.
  19. I have unofficially finished my VF-25S now, meaning I have completely build and panel lined it but I have not done stickers yet. If anyone is curious because I asked a lot I did lining with a gundam marker, found it to be much easier than it seemed at first and I really like the results. In my opinion the lines are very nice and not too obvious at all. I am very impressed with the sturdiness it has for a variable kit but it does seem a bit loose in some areas. I have only had it in fighter mode so far and I am having the trouble keeping the shield in place sometimes, and the wing root pieces next to the intake seem to want to move from their current position a lot but overall they stay there very well (I don't have the Alto kit so I don't know how much better the wing roots are here than that, but I hear they are better). Like I said I have not transformed it yet, I plan to so most of the stickering in fighter mode (I already stickered the wings while assembling though because of the whole wing glove thing) until I get to the part where the only stickers left are the ones that require it to be in battroid or gerwalk to apply. I have to saw that stickers looks like it will be very challenging since a lot of them are really small. Also one question about setting up landing gear. For the back landing gear you have to remove the panels on the legs in order to put in the gear (which I find kind of annoying, I don't see why an opening panel like that on the cockpit for the front gear couldn't be done) but I cannot get them off, is there a trick or do I just have to keep picking at those pieces to get them off? Also the instructions have you attacking the middle piece under the gunpod while it is displayed with landing gear, is this necessary and why is it there?
  20. Semantics... I have used both Michael and Michel before, so it matters not.
  21. Uh... yes. Not sure what you are implying there. If it is the name spelling I use different ones every time because he has like 3 different spellings of his name and two different pronunciations in the show.
  22. Ok, last question I will ask about panel lining.. I think I am going to try the wash method another time and go with markers now, I can deal with that and I'm not really too picky about line thickness. Now someone before once said that find tip gray like GM02 would work find for the Ozma kit despite this valks gray color, is that best or should I just go with GM01 black I was thinking about getting both but in the interest of saving money I was thinking then just to get an idea of which would most likely be better and only get the one. I have a place to buy from so I don't need links, just an idea for which would work better.
  23. It had been mentioned that Mikhail's 25G has specialized optical equipment in the head unit which allows for greater accuracy with the rifle. As said before, nothing stops Alto from firing the gun, but Mikhail (or Klan in the case of that episode) might have been able to do it better. However as Grace in ep. 25 was basically a non-moving target it is not like it would be hard for Alto to miss.
  24. Oh, well I am most certainly not painting. All I want is to panel line and then apply stickers (not decals, that just seems like more of a chore, but the stickers I hear are quite good anyway). So if that is all then I do not need to worry about clear coating, ok that helps a lot. Thank you for clarifying that.
  25. Ok, another question here... I just can't find anything on this by searching. I got the idea on the panel lining now, but what I need to know more about is this clear coating stuff. I search the names people say but I can't find anything that helps me understand it better nor where I can get this stuff. I am really a novice at this stuff so I can use any help I get. Also, I know that if I use the wash method I should do this clear coat first, but should I do that at all if I use a marker?
