  1. Having loved Robotech's New Generation as a kid, I recently picked up and watched Genesis Climber MOSPEADA. I absolutely loved it. Yes, what some people up above are saying about some things being unrealistic are true (though that's the case in probably 98% of anime). Yes, some of the episodes are either just silly or plain dull. Yes, I think it would've been better if done as originally intended (without the Legioss and Tread, and much darker and more military in mood). On the other hand, the Legioss and Tread combining is still just plain awesome to me (I keep my Toynami Alpha and Beta always attached when displayed)... the transforming bikes, seen at the age of 8 or 9, probably had a huge deal to do with my love of motorcycles now and career in engineering... and, honestly, there is something very cool about colonists coming back to their homeworld to free it from an alien invasion, and having to form an underground resistance army (probably why my favorite Exo-Squad episodes are the resistance ones on Earth).
  2. AMEN, BRUTHA! Love MOSPEADA, Megazone was good, Bubblegum Crisis had some good moments (and some that just weren't for me). Viper's Creed, so far, is pretty disappointing. Rideback is really surprisingly good.
  3. No, they were just based on his comics. He DID, however, direct The Spirit (which I haven't seen yet but, good or bad, I know was a major labor of love for him).
  4. Mine says the 24th. All the stuff I've gotten from there takes forever to arrive from Cali to Mass.
  5. The flipside being, a guy with an art/comic book background thinking he can write and direct.
  6. Don't you remember? He DIRECTED Shadow Chronicles... LOL
  7. Haven't seen any comic activity, through Wildstorm or otherwise, in a couple years now either.
  8. Anyone who preordered a Beagle/Toynami Cyclone on Robotech.com received a shipping confirmation yet? There were supposed to ship yesterday, but I still haven't heard anything.
  9. And, between the 3 movies, there would be plenty of material to work with (though it would probably be best to either make a first game out of part 1, or make it take place somewhere encompassing part 1 and 2, with material in between).
  10. I've had my eye on that game for a while. Looks fun. Only thing is it goes for like $40 on eBay, and even then it's for the Japanese PS1.
  11. Honestly makes no difference. Both seem equally well done, and professional quality.
  12. What the f?!?!?!?! BigBadToyStore now has Masterpiece Cyclones and the 2nd, red, Beta, all in stock??? And Robotech.com still has nothing!!!
  13. Dowloading the hi-def of the fan subbed (but very professionally fan subbed) episodes 4 and 5.
  14. Not yet, though I have enough pics and info for one. Any recommendations on hosting?
  15. * bump * Anyone come across anything new? I have a few items to add, if anyone is interested.
  16. Has anyone heard anything from Robotech.com? They haven't replied to any of my emails. Nothing shipped yet. Still listed as pre-order. AND listed as out-of-stock.
  17. I'm listening to the interview right now. Apparently they had started production, but not animation. The OAV was 12-15 episodes worth of plot into one OAV. The ending is so inconclusive because they hadn't come up with one yet at the time when they started working on the OAV. As far as the video game of Megazone 23, I watched some clips from it on youtube yesterday... awful. Truly awful. It was for PS2 or PS3, but it is really a PS1 roleplaying type of game, which is ok, but not suitable for this content, and not handled well even at that.
  18. Nice. So, my 1/15th shelf... my 1/10th Beagle/Toynami MOSPEADA/Cyclone, if Robotech.com ever ships it... and now nice 1/12ths too?
  19. It feels to me like a completely new thing, not based on any plans from Part 1, but it is listed as having the same writer, so who knows?
  20. There are definitely a lot where the ending is somewhat... anticlimactic, which is a valid argument here. Thing is, the final fight just didn't seem that major to me. More of like one of the battles leading up to the actual final one.
  21. They're for the larger scale? That's too bad. That bike is GORGEOUS. I found a less detailed one on ebay too, but it looks SO MUCH WORSE it's hard to believe. Never heard of zinpanic.com before. I'll have to check it out. I really like that AM Driver Motor Bisar. Kind of a combination of MOSPEADA and Megazone, as far as transformation, or so it looks to me. The last two links are the same link (but I see what you mean in an earlier post about the scale of the figure and the bike not seeming to match up).
  22. I'm not arguing with that. I just meant that there a few scenes that seem a little rushed to me. Mainly, things seem to build at a decent speed, but then the final confrontation seems rushed to me. Might just be personal taste.
  23. Thanks for the link!
  24. Just went on Robotech.com. If you go to the store, it still lists a Masterpiece Cyclone as "Preorder." and "Out of stock" What the f???
