nippon-yassan sucks!!!!
I'm curious as well.
Used them only twice so far. My experience with them was both good and bad. partially my fault to choose unregistered SAL option and lost one package. The other one came in fine. I did get full refund from PayPal thou.
If any of you guys need one I just bought 10 cases.
So you are the reason it became extinct!?

Haha Sorry to ruin your happiness However, bigger blame now should go to Mr. Wm cheng!I just got myself a 1/3000 sdf-1 i was so excited when i got it, then i saw your work... HOW DARE YOU STEEL MY HAPPINESS! HAHA j/k Amazing work, i wish i had talent like you so mine can look as nice.

My recommendation would be using a toothpick. That's what I used for my 1/3000 Valyries. Simply sharpen the tip of wooden toothpick and split the tiny tip into brush shape - just the very tip to hold paint/ink. You will need to use the paint thinner as well with paint. Then it's better than 3 hair brushSo what’s the technique to get this sort of details in such a small scaled toy? Do they use some kind of only-one-hair brush?
If you make mistakes, use design knife to scratch off the area. It actually helps you getting the straight lines as well. Hope this helps

pushing out (or is it more pulling? the head is very nicely done, but also very tricky!
No paint problem on mine. just left leg is a little wabbly. Will need to tighten the screw a bit..

Mine came in today! This thing is beautiful!!~
I guess the Lunar New Years holidays made the delivery slower than usual.
SAL is hit or miss to begin with anyways. They put the box 'if' they have extra space in cargo... With all the new years gift going back and forth, there would be less extra space..

Mine got shipped on Jan 18th from AmiAmi via SAL. still waiting...

I found some 1/320 Macross stuff on Ebay. I'm sure you have these already, but in case you need more

Pre-order is up at AmiAmi with 16% off.
BD Macross Blu-ray BOX Complete Edition [First Release Limited Edition]
BD Macross Blu-ray BOX [Regular Edition]
I'd say this is only for collectors who wants to celebrate 30th anniversary or people who wants extras come with it.
I'm still thinking about it, but probably pass this time.

He is telling the truth and he is ready to spend some serious cash!!!I hope you're right. The recession put me at some serious collection holes and I need to replenish now that I'm back in the game. Please let us know if you hear anything Graham. Their are a bunch of things that I still need to stock up on.

Looks sweet!~A little late to the party, but finally had time to sit down and do some detailing on the VF-25. I think I can throw my 1/72 model into the garbage bin now.
That's about the right amount detailing I was going to do to mine as well.
-
yup, the 27 looked great next to the v1 25 but the renewal does it no favors. I put my 27s back into fighter mode
I'm pretty sure it will be a better version if Bandai re-do VF-27, but I'd rather see this guy done before that!

GB is actually less expensive than most other options if you are living in the US.
The starting price is already lower than most other commercial venue. And instead costing (for example) $40 to ship 1 items by EMS from JPN to US, it cost $120 to ship 12 items by EMS (EMS cost doesn't scale 1:1 with weight). So in the end, everyone's international shipping is only $10. Add another $5 domestic shipping to that, you just saved $25 in shipping.
Hope that make sense.
I'm not trying to argue about it. I'm only trying to find a least expensive option.
For VF-25S which I pre-ordered from Amiami already -with 27% off discount - 10150yen ($132) + $20 SAL shipping, it's gonna cost me $152. That's gonna be hard to beat.
So It makes sense for the exclusive items (such as Super Pack) and/or 'Preorder Closed' items

Not sure what you mean...
For web exclusive stuff, GB will always be higher than the retail price... there is no way to get them at wholesale price and offer a discount.
If you are talking about the VF-25F renewal, I have one for $175 if you want to meet up in Irvine. =)
Oh I meant to say exactly that - you pay MSRP + divided shipping among group. So it's not necessarily the least expensive option.
However you don't go though retail, so you get your items shipped directly to you - which is faster than coming through retail.
For VF-23F renewal, I got one already. I'll seek next chance for group buy Maybe for the one comes out after Ozma's or Armored pack.

I stopped using Anime Export after few tries. They take advantage of customers in pricing and order system is messed up by making you pay product and shipping separately. Also shipped my product to wrong person and took about a month to refund my money (even after they admitted they made a mistake)
Toy Hunter seems like they have good prices. I'll try them next time when I have chance.
The reason I like EToys Japan is their shipping options. They give you almost every possible shipping options with very reasonable prices. Now that I went through 1 cycle of purchasing, I'll give them more chances.
Still my No.1 choice would be AmiAmi, but they often close pre-order window very fast and order management system is lacking. However all for the lowest price possible.
Group buy sounds very nice indeed, but you still pay the full price? but you will get the products faster than other options, I guess.

WOW!! O_o;;
Is that a sofa covered with white cloth behind the thing!!?? This is just incredible!! I want to see the painted/finished masterpiece!
No need to rush it thou. I can wait.

There are quite a few hidden fees, such as exchange rate expenses (actual rate from US to JPY is like 3% off the actual rate), S&H charges (from pbandai, middleman and international EMS), that gets added to the over all cost.
They are probably making about $40 at that price, and that's a lot of trouble/risk/investment for only $40 profit.
I can understand all the hidden fees, but still I don't feel like paying extra for already expensive item.
I like BBT and I use them quite often, but it's not for exclusive Bandai items like this.
-
Found a shop have these listed for $70.88. Nippon Yasan?
I have some non-Macross items pre-ordered there, but haven't gone through full cycle yet. Pre-oreder at your own risk.
Also HLJ or AmiAmi might come up with pre-order with better price later, so it's totally up to you.

How in the heck does 4,725yen become $119.99!!! ???
Thieves!!!
-
Just received the package!
Oh My..~ This thing is built so well!!! No visible flaw yet.
Transformed back and forth, and Oh My!!~ Tears...
If I think I contribute to this renewal version by buying the first (short Neck) Ozma, This is great reward.

After I get Alto's and if I'm really happy with it (probably I will), I'm pretty sure I'll collect the rest VF-25 variants.
I'll probably get Armored pack for Ozma. Not really into other option packs.
I'm already satisfied with VF-27 thou. So, that's done.
Somehow I'm really into VF-171EX. Hopefully Bandai or Yamato will get to it later.

Love the digital camo! Looking nice!~
