i finally re-watched macross (in japanese this time, i rented the english dubb version years ago). i forgot that they destroyed the macross in mii. before that happened i kept saying "why is this considered 'alternative universe', it seems that it can fit into the universe somehow". then, they destroyed the macross...

i compare it to how i learned english and that makes it easier for me to relate my educational progress. you go through approx. 12 years of english in school (add 1-4 mores years for college). so, i'm only 12-16 years behind a native speaker. i still rate my educational level as below the kindergarten level. but, i've only been studying since october. plus, i have to remember that i work now (if only i had started this when i was in college and had more free time) and sometimes it's hard to find time in-between work, running errands and going out with my friends. so, i just can't study, study, study like i did in school and college. i'm not sure if i can make it to college level, but i can at least aim for middle school or high school level. but, i also have to remind myself that alot of american high school graduates and g.e.d. graduates can't read and write at the 12th grade level (my boss [also a prof./teacher in her 2nd job] always complains about students being 2-4 years behind their grade level reading and writing potential [a 9th grader with a reading level of a 6th grader. damn ppl who don't want to learn anything in school]). lol, i do the same thing when i see bad grammar on the net. if he is a foreigner than i say "he knows more of my language than i know his". but if he is not, than i just say "america is getting dumber and dumber. everybody wants to be athletes, singers and actors and nobody cares about school".

i feel the opposite. everything after cold snap got boring (ok, so half of season 1 also bored me but the finale made up for it. monday's episode was filler to me, it could have easily been left out (i see it as an "excuse" for the reason why peter forgives nathan... they didn't need the two sisters not forgivin' each other as a reason why they should forgive each other too). kill off heroes?!? not hiro, he's the only hero that i like (i also like peter too. all of my other favorite heroes are already dead). kill off claire, she just been annoying since vol. 3 and her wish to fight crime instead of being a victim (all she does is whine, whine, whine). and, why is sylar overpowered (morphing into other ppl a' la mystique from x-men) but peter and hiro get their powers reduced?!? i've been waiting since vol. 3 for hiro to gets his powers back and then he disappears for 2-3 episodes. i primarily watch heroes for hiro (and peter, he's cool too), he (and peter) are the only ones who like their "powers". sorry, but if i could fly or heal or read minds than i'd be like "i'm the shiet, don't mess with me". this whole "i hate me powers and i want to be normal that they've been usin' since season 1 is not realistic to me (i heard tim kring added hiro just 'cause his wife complained about all of the heroes hating their powers). only two more shows to go. i'm dropping heroes from my "to watch" list. my friend introduced me to season 1 & 2 inbetween season 2 & 3. so i was like "i'm up to date for season 3 and i can watch it on tv instead of tryin' to find a dl". i'll move heroes back to my "watch all 13-26 episodes after they have finished a volume" list (i also hate waiting for the weekly show, this is the reason why i stopped watching naruto and bleach for awhile, i'm now 40-50 episodes behind and now i can watch 3-5 episodes in a row whenever i feel like it instead of watching 1 episode once a week [i'm also switching inbetween watching yu yu hakusho, rurouni kenshin, full metal alchemist, bubblegum crisis tokyo 2040, ikkitousen and my korean movies so i want catch up anytime. i need to add macross f and gundam 00 to the playlist]).

^you can also try malwarebytes (i use along with spybot and xoftspy), it scans real slow tho'. http://www.malwarebytes.org/ the paid version is not worth it to me. it only adds a schedule for a daily quick scan, there's no option to schedule a weekly full scan while i am asleep like i do with xoftspy and spybot. and try combofix http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix it only looks for certain viruses, so it's not a replacement scanner. but it always find something like iprip that others miss (wth is iprip, i had this on two pc's. it's actually 3-4 imes if i include reinstallin' windows and then running combofix a couple of weeks later). here's how to uninstall (and get rid of the quarantine folder qoobox). http://www.myantispyware.com/2008/03/26/ho...stall-combofix/ i've ran it three times but i only finds stuff the first time it is ran (i just wanted to check and make sure that the malware didn't come back). also, it resets MOST of your windows settings to default (taskbar options, screensavers, ect.).

ok, let me correct myself. this was before nos was being used by street racers (i don't know when they started usin' nos, my friend was pointing out cars that had nos in them and tellin' me not to race 2-3 years before the first f&f movie came out [like an eclipse gs-x that had nos but they guy put a eclipse rs sticker on it to lure racers, lol]). nos wasn't "mainstream" when legend of speed was released (nos was mainstream by the time fast and furious came out, imho).

remember that drifting started out as racing down a mountain in japan. they would try to get down the mountain as fast as they could without losing traction. later on, it became acceptable to lose grip for a little while and regain grip while taking a corner. then somebody found out that if they lost total grip than they could multiple turns with no grip. drifting is not like a monster truck show, it is more like olympic diving, gymanstics or any other sport where judges "give you score". it's about style, not how fast you can "swim" (diving vs. michael phelps [diving is cool to watch lol]). i do both, i'll race my car in gran turismo 4 but then i'll drift it when i get bored. i finally bought some drifting games... but i have to relearn how to drift. driftin' aimlessly like i did in gt4 is not cuttin' it.

there's also legend of speed. it came out before f&f. nos had JUST came out and they used it at the end of the movie (nobody know what nos what yet). it's alot better than f&f, they break your leg if you lose the race. my friend had it on dvd and i borrowed it from him. http://www.amazon.com/Legend-Speed-Ekin-Ch...5947&sr=8-1

i was expecting the same thing from the movie. but they made the movie about the humans and not the transformers. i'll admit that at least it was a "good" movie; but they really came short of making the "right" movie. and i also hated their robot designs. they looked too much like monsters and "muscles and no skin" aka "scary". they should have had the japanese design them for them, i like their humanoid (macross, gundam, fmp, nge, bbc) style better aka "cool". i used to watch the cartoon. i have the original movie too. the first movie has better action scenes. it reminds me of watching anime from the 80's, it has that same look to it. the only complaint that i have to say that the killed off like almost autobot in the movie and very few decepticons besides starscream died.

yes indeed. i use yesasia (they have free gifts for when you buy 3 dvd's from the same country), dvdasian, hkflix and hanbooks. sundevildvd sells bootlegs. i know there's crunchyroll and animemangafun but sometimes you just want to see it in high quality.

i've been the opposite in any foreign language that ive taken. my strength has been in reading and writing the language and my weaknesses were listening comprehension and responding to my teacher/sensei/seonsaeng(nim)/professeur/profesor with the correct phrase.

yea. i read on some u.s. gov't website that one needs about 6 months of practice/class/study to switch from english to another language in the same romance language (spanish, french, italian, ect.). but the same website said that it recommended 9-12 months for japanese and korean. the website said that one should be able to hold a conversation after a year of study (some govt website that told ppl info about going overseas and teaching english to foreigners).

lol. that was me in japanese, spanish and french class; always mispronouncing words. i didn't know that the chinese characters meant the same thing until i watched "my wife is gangster 3". there was a korean guy and a chinese lady who wanted to talk to each other about the chinese girl marrying the korean guy's son. so the korean guy started talking to her by writing chinese characters in the sand and she would reply by writing her response in the sand. i was like "i should have known that they mean the same thing in different langauges". i have heard the opposite thing about korea. koreans know learning korean is really really hard and they see it was a sign of respect and honor for somebody to learn their language (i hear just learning the alphabet will impress somebody) yea, that's how it works for me. or sometimes, i can sorta remember what the word means if i go over my flash cards but i always forget how to say the word once my friend asks me "what new stuff have you learned in korean".

wow, you know kanji. i still haven't memorized my katakana and i'm slowin' forgettin' my hiragana. somebody said get a gf. i say get on craigslist and post an ad in the "lessons" section. i switched from japanese to korean; i had japanese class in college but there were no korean classes available. so i posted an ad saying that i was looking for a korean class or private tutor and somebody replied to my message. so, i went from bein' stuck in chapter one of my korean book (the writing system is super easy, you can teach yourself it in less than a week) to learning a new chapter at every tutoring session (my teacher goes fast, hes off to next chapter before i can even memorize 25% of the vocab from the earlier chapter). well, i have a two book set and he only has 3 more chapters to explain to me out of the 2nd book (i'll know all the grammer rules like how to say a verb in polite form and how to say a verb to a close friend [informal form]). so try craigslist. my tutor is from korea. i tutor him in english for free while he tutors me in korean for free. i also saw some ads for chinese and japanese classes and they were cheap (approx. $5-20 an hour). i didn't want to continue my japanese 'cause my japanese friend/tutor moved out of state and i have nobody to speak japanese with, but i know lots of koreans . it's easier to learn a foreign language in groups. i get 3x5 index cards and i make my own flash cards (i even found my flash cards for tryin' to learn katakana) for memorization. but some words i know just 'cause my tutor has told me the translation of it so many times (he makes me read sentences that my book didn't translate in english and then he translates it for me). and look at it this way, japanese is easier than korean (my opinion, i've studied both languages) , it only has 5 vowels (A, I, U, E, O) compared to korean (A, E, AE, I, O, EO, U, EU, UI, ect.). and if you know kanji, than you can switch to chinese or korean easily (ok, maybe not that easy). the kanji means the same thing in all 3 languages (i think) but they have different pronounciations (chinese characters in korean in called hanja). my tutor is always pointing out words that come from chinese and then he draws the chinese character for me (i don't know any hanja and the only kanji i learned was the one from japan/nihon/nippon). good luck on the japanese. kanpei (spelling?) means cheers in japanese and korean. i've been told that the two languages share alot of words (they are from the same language family. chinese is from a different language family). this is my immersion plan. i play nothing but korean hip hop (and some r&b) in my car. that's just for my listenening comprehension so that i get used to them talking fast. i finally bought some korean movies to help with my listening comprehension (all of my dvd's were japanese movies like ringu, ringu 2, ringu zero , ninja scroll, ghost in the shell, akira, ect. [plus the anime that i have that is not on retail dvd format, lol, i still buy the real dvd set when i have the money]). i can still pick up words whenever i watch anime but now i can try repeating japanese words that are longer than 3 syllables. right now, i can't decide if i should pick japanese back up after i semi-fluent in korean or if i should try to learn mandarin chinese. i really leaning towards trying to pick up both (not at the same time) and learning how to say the chinese characters in 2 languages. chinese characters are being used less and less in korea as time goes by so i really do need to learn hanja (my book doesn't even mention it, my tutor tells me which words are also spelled in hanja).

i guess that i'm the only person who likes season 2. my friend showed me his vol. 1 dvd set durin' the writers strike and got me into the show. so, i then dl'ed season 2 and watch it all in 2-3 days. i've been thinkin' that since season 1. this hunting plot has been bad. the only good episode was cold snap. i didn't like season 3 (half of it is good and half of it bad) but at least they were trying to save the world (normal super hero plot device and who cares if some viewers complain about this). i'm not feeling this "terrorists locked up in cuba" analogy.

i can watch other anime series. i just have a habit watchin' ep. 1 of one series and then movin' one to something else. some series that i like are: vampire hunter d megazone 23 full metal panic! patlabor golgo 13: the professional death note ninja scroll ghost in the shell akira super dimension century orguss d.gray-man (it got borin' so i'm behind in this series) rurouni kenshin (i've never finished this series so i'll get back to you on this one) tenchi muyo (i've never finished this series so i'll get back to you on this one) legendary armor samurai warriors (ronin warriors) (i've never finished this series so i'll get back to you on this one) mobile suit gundam (1979, i just started this series yesterday) neon genesis evangelion (this show is too depressin' me for my watch a 2nd time) naruto and bleach (these are shows where you have to watch 20-40 episodes back to back to get an appreciation for them. waitin' the latest episode to be fansubbed will have you sayin' "i hate this show") i know that i left something off of my list... as you can see, i prefer the giant robots anime shows but i still like to branch out to other genres. i've only bothered to watch about 1% of the series that i have on hand to watch (and i've watch my dvd's of ninja scroll, akira and ghost in the shell to death).

i'm new to gundam. so i had to start with mobile suit gundam (aka mobile suit gundam 0079). so far, it's alot different than macross. i love sdf macross, dyrl and sdc orguss... but i haven't liked any of the macross sequels (i haven't gone past ep. 10 in macross frontier so maybe i'll like it once i finish it). gundam has so many sequels. so hopefully there will be more gundam sequels that i like compared to the macross sequels. so far, the original gundam series has been interestin' but not as enjoyable as macross. that is until i got to ep. 4 of it. now it is startin' to get excitin'. and no, i don't hate slow movin' anime series. mobile police patlabor (the first ova and the first movie) is REAL GOOD and it was slow movin'. i just haven't finished the rest of the patlabor series 'cause i started watchin' mospeada... and the orguss... and the ep. 1 of orguss 2... and then ep. 1 of legendary armor samurai warriors (ronin warriors subtitled) and then i switched to gundam 0079... don't ask me why but i did a google on macross vs. gundam. i found this thread and it turned into a "lets flame this guy who doesn't know the difference between macross (southern cross and mospeada) and robotech. lol. http://forums.spacebattles.com/showthread.php?t=6246

ok. i was confused at first at. i was like "did kei and olsen just kill themselves in order to set the world's right?". so i wasn't sure if they lived or died. aaaaah. i liked mhoohm. she didn't make it...

sorry, i didn't meant to offend the mospeada fans. i simply said that i don't have the money to buy mospeada so don't flame me for watchin' the fansub in my first post about mospeada. and then somebody comes in tellin' me to go buy the dvd. i hadn't seen mospeada since i was 8 or 10 and i don't go around buyin' the transformers or g.i. joe dvd 'cause i liked them when i was kid (i didn't even like mospeada when i was little, robotech was my brother's show and i just remembered the bikes that transform and the invid girl who everybody thinks is human until they see her green blood. i knew more details from the macross saga [ben dyin' and he doesn't make it home to finish his steak, roy dies, the zentradi kill everybody on earth]) and i was like "i finally saw mospeada and i know the entire story!!!. so, it really didn't suck. but it is not worth the money to me to buy the dvd set. it was an ok anime series but it doesn't compare to macross or orguss (i remember readin' somebody's post or blog that mospeada was better than macross). i believe in "watch it before you buy it". i have anime dvd's but i didn't buy them until after i had rented them numerous times.

the ending of orguss is "WTF?!?". talk about a major cliffhanger...

number 1. no job. buy if for me. number 2. mospeada suxs. i wouldn't buy it even if i did have $30 dollars. number 3. orguss is alot better. orguss should have been part of robotech, not mospeada. nobody would be interested in mospeada even it wasn't part of robotech. the plot is the same for every episode. attack the faceless invid. they are losin' but somehow they find a way to win. saturday mornin' cartoons had more variety with their weekly series.
